    The Mercedes M-Class is superb to drive drive has good refinement and strong performance and image. There's bags of space for five and their luggage.
    There's no seven-seater option and it's not as sharp to drive as a BMW X5. Plus, the interior plastics are not up to par and there are concerns over residual values.

    I feel this review is not accurate when it comes to its off road ability. With locking diffs, a low range box to enable you to climb 100% gradients and with the ground clearance of 291mm, I'd say it has huge potential. I shall find out this weekend hopefully with new All terrains on it.

    This review was one of the main reasons I went out and bought one of these. And it's superb, so thankyou very much indeed haha :)

    We bought a 2010 ML300 a few weeks ago, and we're very happy with it. On a long motorway drive of around 100 miles the fuel consumption readout reached 39.8mpg; that was keeping to just within the 70mph speed limit. Pleased with that!

    I love mine :) I've had it off road and its not bad at all.... climbed very steep angles and through lots of mud. I've waded through a couple of streams too

    My family got a second hand one a few weeks ago, from 2006 and with the 280 CDI diesel engine. We love it. On long journeys it's very comfortable & quiet. It's also easy to drive even in Parisian suburbs. It's pretty economical on highway (8.0 liters/100 km), in town its more around 10-11... For downsides it seems that the engine likes to drink engine oil... (which is expensive), we had to pay 700€ to re-register it (thanks to our socialist French government) and even in black this MB is not very discrete (nobody looked at our previous 1996 bashed Audi).

    I have this car since May 2007 and I love it so far! I had to add extra rubber seal to reduce the wind noise. Other than that it’s a perfect vehicle for me

    • @filthymcnastyazz
      @filthymcnastyazz Před 5 lety

      Can you say where the seal was required please

    • @longsilver2646
      @longsilver2646 Před 5 lety +4

      @@filthymcnastyazz i add the rubber seal on the driver and passenger seat door. more precisely on the top of the door, between the original door seal and the actual door, there is a gap.
      hopefully you know what i mean :)

    Get the 2008 ML350 does not have air shocks. Ballance shaft had been done, also had to replace transmission plate, was in limp mode. Had plate with vin number burned in. Nice ride for under 2K.

    I’ve got mine currently up to 190,000miles and hasn’t broken down once,the engine 360 Petrol is as sweet as a nut.The review says it can’t compete off road with a discovery, but if a typical discovery at190000 miles is shot ,who is getting out of the mud then?

    To tax this vehicle is 500 £ a year and the insurance isn't cheap either 'I have a Lexus rx and I wouldn't swap it for this 'the Lexus is far more economical and a nicer ride 'a far better vehicle all round than this merc no rattles or squeaks anywhere 'I dare you to drive one and say you don't like it 'because I know you'd be lieing 'the last Lexus had just over 400000 miles on it and it was still running fine I just fancied a change 'wouldn't buy anything else now I'm hooked Lexus rx forever

    Should I if I'm a multi millionaire?.
    Probably not, nothing against it, however the M Class is the most obvious choice (next to the X5, Cayenne and Q7) if one is out to "flash the cash".
    The VW Touraeg BlueMotion gets my vote!.

    Great car, but you need deep pockets, especially for the sam, air suspension fails all the time and transmission lever on the steering wheel will one day get you stranded, will not move into gear or drive, make sure you have a toe truck hand, yeaah, great car as the lady says

    • @aproapemasini6066
      @aproapemasini6066 Před 3 lety +2

      I went for a classic coilover ML 280 CDI so I got the air suspension out the door. But a friend of mine has an X5 with air suspension and he pays like 150 euros for an aftermarket bag so it's not THAT bad. But yeah, I wouldn't recommend this type of car for someone earning less than 1500 euros / month in Eastern Europe and fuck knows how much in Western Europe.

    This car does have the off road prowess. It's based on the jeep grand Cherokee that Mercedes co-developed in the Daimler Chrysler era

    Doesn't she keep on pushing for the Land Rover over and over again ? Boy, if you think with this one you need a fat wallet. The L Rs are even worse, you will need two. One for the gas station and one for the repair department which you will be accustom to very fast with those Fords.( I mean Land Rover cars)

    1:38 imagine paying all that money for a Mercedes only to get manual steering adjustments.
