    Missed the premiere but hope you guys are enjoying this one. And BTW, for those caught up in the nonsense "what's up with the screaming cmon on mistakes and where is the etiquette", grow up. This is a battle. We are pumping ourselves up, keeping the mind positive. There is absolute no disrespect towards each other. If you are that person, I bet you are very easy to beat. This is all fair game, we shake hands and move on. Keep your bs to yourself

    • @shipwreck8847
      @shipwreck8847 Před 6 měsíci +16

      Also, sometimes the come ons happen because you made a shot either a get or a good shot to elicit the mistake. Sometimes I come on during my matches because I put one last ball into play and the person missed an easy shot because I made a great hustle on a ball. I wasn't come oning my opponents error but my hustle that caused that error. That's why I come on on some mistakes. It's not to insult my opponent, it's just the way I celebrate my small victories along the way. I do understand when people do it to be dicks and obnoxious and I"m not a fan of that, but I think when you see that, it's more clearly identifiable. I don't think either of you were being dicks to each other. And your opponent was very generous on a call. The ball floated high and landed short-wide out, but he still played it. 10:04 Good sportsmanship on his part.

      When matches are cut like this it makes it feel like you have no time to breathe. No time to process what's happening. I get why it's done, to maximise analytics and watch time BUT 80% of a tennis match is spent not playing tennis. I much prefer watching a full long match. But times have changed and ppl have no attention span. I feel like you may feel similarly aswell Karue?
      Nonetheless, great effort in the match!

    • @MPTennis
      @MPTennis Před 6 měsíci +5

      Great match Karue and how to find a way. Colton's FH and running FH was very good, but you found a way to keep a lot of the points on your terms. Great job coming to the net as well. I hope you have a great training block and looking forward to watching the journey in 2024!
      Also, is that SportCam you used for the score?

  • @unknownvitster
    @unknownvitster Před 6 měsíci +85

    That was mentally strong. Many players would have broken down with that many first or second-ball misses. Also, everyone in the comments mentions your backhand, and it is money, but your return is your strength. Being able to pressure someone when you're technically on defense is powerful. Great job!

      I was a nationally ranked-junior and collegiate player. Everyone at a high level is positive-minded and believes in themselves, but everyone can get negative. Heck, you see pros at the highest level who aren't having a good day decide to tank. What separates the winners from the losers are those with a short-term memory and the ability to reclaim their potential when things aren't going their way.@@nsebast

    Killer match, Karue, love seeing age and guile prevail against a super talented young gun. Watching his first service game, I thought, holy shit, this kid has huge pace and all of the lines from both wings. Your play style forced him to adapt to slower, more controlled shots, while waiting for the put away, he couldn't just swing out on every shot. He got a lot of different looks from you, which slowed down the rhythm of his shots, had to generate his own pace and dance to your rhythm. You played the exact style you coach.

Everyone who's playing tennis know how demotivated can it be to miss a ball that you hit 10/10 times right on training ground. Also, a lot of times when you missed a first serve attempt you would hit your second serve to the same spot as the missed first serve attempt. Could get predictable if you’re doing that too often. Your opponent is fast as hell dude plus he got the explosive serves. In terms of skills, you're definitely over him. But the more you calmed, the better shot you made. In this match, I think you handled the frustrations like a champ that you deserved every bit to win. Such a great match!
