This video makes me more grateful for my father. Growing up in a culture where boys are more valued than girls, my father never got mad that he only had girls. He always treated all of us very well and would make sure we knew our worth. He always told us that whatever we set our minds to, we can achieve. We were always more than enough for him. My husband and I have a blended and expanded family of 6 children and his 4 bio children are all girls, I have 2 sons and he a daughter from previous marriages and we have 3 girls together. His friends joke with him about it but God gave him 4 girls for a reason-probably because he’s going to teach them the same as my sons and they’re going to be some bada** girls with skills.

I am the 4th of 5 girls and we are very close to each other. Then my brother came along and the poor kid had 6 mothers. He was so spoiled! But at about age 6-7 he became like our older brother, defending his big sisters like a little man. Today, since both our folks are gone, he is spoiled by us sisters because he is our Man of the family (our husbands love him too). Love my Bro! My hubby was number 8 of 9 kids. The first 7 were girls. They all knew that the parents wanted a boy, and never had an issue with that because they knew they were so loved. None were viewed as "just girls". After my husband they had one miscarriage and then another boy. They stopped after that.

I'm not forcing myself to be a victim, you you know how long I was in denial for? How long I tried to convince myself I saw nothing wrong with my parents? The era of normalized abuse (NOT THIS VIDEO I'm getting distracted by my own situation lol) is over. Well not over, but it falls more as time goes on. This is such a damaging message for children, especially the younger girls, to know theyre extraneous, a failed attempt at having a son. I know i sound like im being dramatic but when youre little, little things like that are a huge part of your life and a part of who you are. I really hope you dont focus on how your son is a boy all the time, cause thats gonna be really shitty for all of your daughters.

@@cloudysana my dad has 2 daughters and he says our family would be complete if there was a boy , similarly my neighbour has 2 sons and he says their family would be complete if he had a daughter too. So it isn't that deep, me and my sister don't feel we aren't enough or something, we just feel it's his perspective he wanted a son too doesn't mean he Didn't want us or doesn't like us. Ig same is with this family too. Seems he loves all his girls equally.

I am the 4th of 5 girls and we are very close to each other. Then my brother came along and the poor kid had 6 mothers. He was so spoiled! But at about age 6-7 he became like our older brother, defending his big sisters like a little man. Today, since both our folks are gone, he is spoiled by us sisters because he is our Man of the family (our husbands love him too). Love my Bro! Hopefully they will all stay close to each other through life. It’s such a beautiful learning experience for little girls to have a brother and vice versa.
