      DanDanTheFireman not the bike for you. It’s way too tall of a bike for you. Imagine slow speed training with that bike... you’re going to drop it... it’s the new cool bike and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of views but ergonomically speaking, the bike doesn’t suit you. I wouldn’t ride a bike wear I had to stand on my toes in traffic... doesn’t seem fun

      The Rebel is working out great, thanks for asking. Perfect first bike in my opinion. I'm about 5'11" and 170lbs. I'm already at 1700km and will be going for my first maintenance this coming Friday. I love the bike man. I catch people looking all the time and I've received plenty of compliments on it. Every ride is a learning experience and I love it. I highly recommend if you're considering the Rebel.

    • @seaninness334
      @seaninness334 Před 5 lety +1

      @@jasminroy1985 I'm a bit bigger size wise and getting back into cycling. I keep skipping around interest wise. Recently I've been interested in the XSR900 but this Indian FTR1200 is very nice too. Can't afford either right now but, fingers crossed, I'll win the latter in the Revzilla contest. :) Very glad to hear you are enjoying the Rebel 500. I looked hard at it but I really prefer a higher seat, mid controls and I think I would look a little goofy on it. I also think that I would feel the urge to trade up on it too soon as I do have experience on other bikes. Still, I was impressed with it and all the customization you can do with the new Rebel line. Have a great season.

    Hi Dan, I was going over the same rollercoaster of emotions, when I've ridden FTR 1200 RL for the first time, it's an amazing piece of a motorcycle. I've never had so much fun, on any other of my bikes in the past, not on an L-twin Ducati (it was close but not as visceral, nor on my 3 cylinder XSR 900). Amazing bike, but you need to take a ride to understand how awesome it is :).

    What really put you off the race replica apart from price £15K will get me one plus a few things extra lose the number plate bracket, get the high level one seat cowl and maybe spoked wheels, but they will probably have to wait a bit, few things to sell once I have the bike.

      I thought the size and location was easy to access. We've got an all day demo on this bike today too and I haven't gotten anything negative so far on the cluster. Even I can dig it and I'm fairly picky on the placement of operational switches/buttons/screens. Even though you have to look down, every bike is different and they're supposed to be. If every machine felt exactly how you wanted it, the market would be super bland. Embrace the differences! They're what makes the experience and riding is supposed to be exactly that, an experience man ✌️ Y'all stay safe!!

      @303MoTo Před 5 lety +4

      My advice would be to not get too discouraged. Takes time to get used to riding and everyone learns at a different pace. You need practice to become better. Just stay in your comfort zone but don't be afraid to challenge yourself at times. Find a nice empty parking lot close to home and practice low speed skills, turning, stopping, shifting etc...
      I once forgot to downshift at a stop light and tried to take off in 4th gear, did not end well... happens to us all at times. Check out MotoJitsu, great resource for learning.

Happens to everyone, just some will not admit it. I practice slow circles, figure 8s, on my street all the time. Keep your head up, look where you want to go, and learn to feel your bike. Khắc cảnh lê , I saw a few days ago at Indian demo day. I could sit on it but could not ride it. I thought I saw a chain, but the guy in the video said it was a belt.

    The Indian FTR is BAD 🏍 LOOKS VERY NICE! thank you for once again another great video. I am going tomorrow to check out the Honda Rebel 300 and helmets and other gear. I just scheduled my endorsement class for June and I can’t not wait to get riding.

    You sound so surprised I might even say shocked, when you first rode off. Like a man who’s just discovered what the rest of the biking world outside the USA, already knew for decades: the world of Not-Harley (not intended as a criticism) 👍👍👍
    Ps, get some decent road tyres on it and you’ll be surprised all over again 👍

    Thoughts on the FTR being a first bike? Before everyone goes ape shit and say you gotta start on a CBR300 or KAW250 let me explain my thought process on this one. The safety features and different riding modes on the FTR are the ONKY reason I would consider this bike. Plus, it looks fuking bada$$. From what I’ve seen, read, and talked to the dealer about, I that the rain mode really tames the bike down. Also I want new so I don’t have to deal with any initial maintenance issues, so don’t point me in the direction of CL for some used ROM. One other item of note is that I am 41, so I do have a taaaaad bit more maturity and “road” experience on my side. That being said, what do you guys think?

    Hopefully the Tuscon Indian experience is better than Peoria Indian. I tried buying a Cheiftain and they were giving me a raw deal. I felt like they were just selling me a bike and not trying to gain a loyal customer. Turned me off from Indians (for now). Ended up buying a Harley instead.

    This is exactly what happened to me. I was like nothing will ever be better than my Dyna. Went on a demo ride on a new street glide special. I was giggling the whole time like I don’t want to go back. Will they be mad if I don’t return? Long story short I bought one. I’m still giggling going on 6 months.

    My local dealer (Middle East) has a NEW 2020 FTR-S with 19inch wheels/track tyres for 13k or I can order a 2022 FTR-Carbon with 17inch road tyres (3months delivery) for 17k...not sure which to go for right now.

    You have my blessing if I could get one right now I think I would I wish the base model had modes and traction control I think it's all I need except for that and I prefer the round analog speedo as well but I'll probably go with the s model like you to get modes and TC but not impressed with the acropovic on the race model rather pick out something else maybe Vance Hines when they bring out they'res
