Whitby Abbey and Monastery, what a fabulous place with full of history! You have to walk up the 199 steps (or the donkey path) and walk by St Mary’s Church to get to the entrance of the abbey. It’s a lovely heritage site, and we enjoyed the free audio tour at all the little spots, lots to listen to and enjoy as you wander around. Totally worth the entrance fee to walk through the ground. It is breathtaking.
