The man playing the triangle is Ilya Pokrovskiy. He is a virtuoso percussionist, songwriter, composer, and showman in his own right. Dimash is able to attract and retain super talented people to help him put on high-quality performances because he values and respects them greatly, both as fellow artists and as friends.

He asked Dimash if he could join his musicians after performing with Dimash for the first time and Dimash hadn't already a "band" besides his Kazakh musicians. Since than he enriches Dimashs performances and matches Dimashs team very well. I guess he influences even the music production. So yes, he's a great musician!
This was in 2018, and Dimash was 23 here. Dimash participated in this event (New Wave) as a guest, and this was the opening night, where a lot of singers each performed a song of A`Studio - the band playing on the stage - as a tribute to them. "Sinful Passion" is a hit of A`Studio. That interesting vocal trill and vocalize (after the soprano part, and before the ending "daaai mneeee"s) was included by Dimash as a mourning vocalization in memory of a member of the original band A`Studio, who passed away. Also, that last belt + crazy runs lasted 24 seconds on one breath :) The man in white shirt giving him a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy, a famous composer who, after this performance, decided to give up retirement and start composing for Dimash.
Dimash uses all his vocal technique to convey the meaning and lyrics that he sings, be it his own songs, or covers. He always does justice to covers, and when he hears a song of exceptional quality from someone else, he challenges himself with it. Apart from his own amazing songs, he also has a few covers in his repertoire, which he adapted, rearranged, and which he performs as a tribute to the amazing originals.

Dimash is a high fashion model his hair and clothing are different every time. He’s much like lady Gaga except he’s dapper every time. He’s been in Vogue and mens health magazines. He’s in Russia here. So his makeup is made to look Russian when he’s in China they make his eyes look Chinese. Also coming from opera training they wear make up. He wears make up. He looks the age he wants to look. Though he’s about 23 or 24 when he does love is like a dream he looks over 30 yrs with a furrowed brow. I’ve never seen him look that old but in that video. Dimash not only looks appropriately for the venue he sings appropriately for the venue…for the building but for the crowd too.

The bassist who surprised you at the end of the video is the bassist of the band whose song was performed by Dimash. At the rehearsal, the ending of the song, Dimash, had 19 seconds, and at the live performance, Dima pulled out a few more seconds longer and the bassist was shocked by this!

You have one of the best reactions ever to Dimash's Sinful Passion so I imagine the Dears will be piling on and subscribing to your channel if you keep it up. But this is not a short race. It is a marathon. You will need to have stamina. Other reactors can't take the shock each time they see a new Dimash performance. You will need your rest and take your vitamins because this will be a long journey if you keep reacting to Dimash which we would all love to see. (The dears are holding out on you, they are spoon feeding you a few of his famous early titles which is a good place to start. It will take many months for your brain to come to terms with his awesome range but then the true shock comes when you understand that he OWNS every note in that range.)

The high note in this performance is an E6, but it is not the highest note he has hit. In "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku he hits a D8, which is off the piano. It honestly sounds like a dog whistle, lol.

This is a cover, the Kazakh band supporting are the original band who had a hit with this song in the 90’s, the keyboard player composed the song. Dimash doesn’t write his own lyrics but Dimash does tell his lyric writers, what he wants his own compositions, to convey….

Remember the announcer in this video has a Russian accent. In English, we would pronounce it more like D'mosh Ku-di-berg-en. This is also a cover actually written by the band who's performing with him (Dimash has written several other songs), but the tune was originally a little pop song, nothing substantial. Dimash reworked it into a slow, sexy ballad so that the cadence of the music matches the lyrics. If you go back & listen again, you might hear what I do---a male and a female lover proclaiming their love for each other in their most private moments.
Go back and check out that last minute...24 seconds of runs in 1 breath, phenomenal! The basic understanding of how it's possible for him to have such a shocking range of over seven octaves is that first, he was born with a special vocal gift; second, since he's been working on his voice since age 5, he trained with vocal coaches throughout puberty and beyond, and was able to retain that upper soprano range that young boys have even after he grew up; third, he spends hours each day practicing and approaches singing the way an Olympian athlete approaches their training; and last, he has unusually long vocal chords.
not really long chords... incessant training is his "secret", plus Bel Canto itself has among it`s main benefits the gradual extension of the vocal range. What is truly different about Dimash, is his idea and ambition to go into the high register, to maintain it, to use it for artistic expression, even if his own teacher was unsure about it, "because it`s not customary in classical school to do that as a male and a tenor" [to insist on soprano register]. Dimash wanted to have, keep, and use that. Many don`t venture into that teritory, they make a living in their main register and that`s it. More men could do it (probably not as good as Dimash does it) but they don`t go there. This singer explains "the secret of sopranos and Dimash`s high range", the exercise for it, and how he himself managed to reach a C6 after 2 years of training, whereas before this training he couldn`t, and he didn`t even know men have that capability, because all coaches said it`s not possible : czcams.com/video/I8Hj5lM7m0c/video.html.
Many other singers don`t train for an extended range, because usually there`s not much applicability for it. Dimash himself encountered criticism in the beginning, people kept asking him "what`s the use for his high notes", and argued that his songs sounded weird. Other singers would get discouraged. He persisted. Now we get to see all that range put to amazing use, and it`s breathtaking :)

I'm convinced his vocal chords are incrusted with diamonds and magic and they are half dolphin and bird. He can hit a D8 which is not on the piano and only dolphins make that sound lol. Thank you! A-Studio, the band, is from Dimash’s home country (Kazakhstan). The pianist (I think) wrote the song, which was originally sung by their lead singer. But the singer tragically died in an accident. When the band was invited to play at this event, the band invited Dimash to sing this difficult song. The band loved his incredible performance (of course)…but at the same time, they were sad, thinking about the band member/singer they lost.
Dimash is very humble, and shares the glory with everyone supporting him, such as the band.

He doesn’t usually write his lyrics, but he approves them. Sinful Passion is a cover and was written by the Kazakh band A’Studio which was mostly stationed in Russia.
Dear Sir, I loooove all the deserved respect you show Dimash. But only one thing, the “triangel man” is one of his team mates in all his concerts. He plays all the percussion and sooo well mastered. So, much respect for that kind man/ friend of Dimash as well!

📌 Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen? (pronounced: Dee-mahsh Koo-di-bear-ghen)
Dimash Qudaibergen was born on May 24, 1994, in Aktobe, Kazakhstan into musical royalty. Height: 1.91m; 6' 3'. Grandfather played professional dombra, grandmother was a teacher and sings.
His parents are Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva. They have long been known among the people of Kazakhstan and were awarded the title of Honored Music Artist of Kazakhstan: czcams.com/video/-Hhi1x4LqpE/video.html
According to Kazakh tradition, he was raised by his grandparents (Mama and Papa) and for a long time he kept his parents as his brother ans sister in law. They all live together in one house.
Dimash said: “Open my heart, you will find music. If you open my brain you will find music. Music is my life."
He has been training in music since he was 5 years old, has a perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. Dimash also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with honors’. He has composed 12 of his own songs so far and is currently working on his doctorate. We have to call him soon Doctor Dimash Qudaibergen. 😃
Dimash did not fit the traditional image of a singer in Kazakhstan and was criticized. Even his voice teacher forbade him to sing in falsetto ( Interview with his voice teacher - czcams.com/video/V7hkcKYAnhg/video.html ) ... but he was not deterred, won many national and international competitions.
In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of the National Opera in Astana because he wanted to go his own way ... He created his own genre: neoclassical combined with classical, folklore and other styles such as pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We laypeople say 'Popera'. 😃
Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. He founded his own company named Dimash Ali.
In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone in China. He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today Dimash is a 'cultural ambassador' for his country and a 'national treasure' (not an official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot.
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin. He says dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him. So far, he sings in 13 languages. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, ..but Dimash said: "You don't need to know how hard I've worked, you just need to enjoy the results".
Experts consider Dimash to be a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Dimash says of himself that he is a tenor. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano.

Dimash always wanted to be on stage. As a young boy (3ys), he would often sit in the audience at his parents' performances and run on stage when they bowed at the end, and he would do the same.
In his childhood Dimash trained Taekwondo. A Dear gave him knee pads, but he says he's so deep into his songs that he doesn't feel any pain. 😃 Dimash looks good, is one of the 100 most beautiful men in the world and a model coveted around the world.

I have been watching first reactions of the god we call Dimash. I have seen at least 500 reactions in just this song. I am voting you my favorite out of those 500 or so. They were just so many things I enjoyed about your reaction, it's just too long to list.

Although he does compose music and songs, he doesn't very often write his own lyrics. He frequently uses trusted lyric writers or lyrics written by poets or family members. Also he sings a lot of covers and songs that others write just for his voice. He didn't write this particular song because it was written by the band that is backing him (A' Studio) back in the 2000s. Their singer passed away and I 'think' Dimash was the first to sing the song since then. He really did it justice!

The song was written by one of the band members of A-Studio (who are backing Dimash in this video) - a Russian-based Kazakh band - and performed by them in 1998 so it’s an old song brought back to life and re-invented brilliantly by Dimash. The band member who composed the song died in 2015 aged 52 and this performance by Dimash with the eastern melissma was a tribute to him. 🙏🏻🇦🇺

The band that wrote the original song performed here. The lead singer had passed away, so Dimash gave a tribute by singing a song of sorrow. The glottal block is an Asian/arabic sign of lament or respect to their god or persons passed. Also, the reference to drinking the potion dry has nothing to do with alcohol, it’s about absorbing every part of their obsession.
Oh, and he is 6’3”, has a martial arts black belt and can hold his breath underwater for six minutes.

I think the first well-known song written by Dimash at age 19 is Unforgettable Day, Gakku performance is the one everyone goes to because - well, you'll find out. Just bring along any dolphin friends. BTW the guy standing in the white shirt at the end of this one, will figure in a big way in future videos. He is Igor Kutroy a billionaire composer/music producer who came out of retirement to write for and perform with Dimash. You will see a lot of Igor.
