Can you do a comparison video between the In Brace (smart wire) and complete lingual braces. I’m trying to decide which one to ask for as I am older now and definitely want something hidden. Hi! I have a kinda serious problem. I was in class and I fell on the back of my chair, hitting my head and my braces poked my bottom lip making a like piercing but the hole didn’t go to the outside. Its numb the next day, I tried putting something cold but I didn’t feel the coldness when I put it on my lip. I’m kinda scared what should I do? 😰

I just got mine tighted, they hurt at first so I recommend eating a lot of smoothies
I got them yesterday and I had a smoothie it was the best smoothie I’ve ever had!! Also they hurt SO MUCH!! 😭😭
@@lilyrb11 for real 😭🙏 it stops after a couple days and if u have rubber bands remember to always keep them in, because if you just put them in sometimes they can hurt extra like when u take them out

Message to all my bros and sisters who are or have got those braces .... I know that shit hurts 😫 yeah I know they hurt freaking alot coz I too have them but remember those spacers, expanded, wires, bands and aligners they all are just a quiet tough obstacle we have to live with for few months or years for that beutiful teeth u gonna have 😀 so don't worry when u feel its unbearable cry a bit it will relieve u but just remember never to give up ..
SO BE HAPPY AND FACE THE BRACES YOUR FREIND WHO HELPS U BUT ALSO HURTS U FOR YOUR OWN GOOD WITH CONFIDENCE 😊😊

got my braces earlier and I'm still trying to educate myself by binge watching braces related videos!
That numbing gel tip + warm salt water has been in heavy use this last week when I recently got a gum graft & the swelling caused my lip to develop an ulcer over a front bracket with the little stick part. That was worse than the graft site healing. It's mostly healed now, but the ulcer spot kept hooking on the bracket ;-;

i haver braces and i broke 6 brackets, a some tips
1. don't chew on any ice, or any gum, some freeze dried candy, or any gummy candies. may brake or bend brackets or wire.
2. eat freeze dried fruits like apple, bananas, pears, etc.
3. ask a ortho abt freeze dried candy or look it up.
4. stay away from biting any meatal items, will bend wires, brake brackets.
5. don't eat anything to crunchy, may brake brackets.

How does it feel ?
It's been 6 years since I first got my braces. For 6 years I have not been brushing my teeth enough, I've always been missing my dentist appointments, I don't get them cleaned by my dentist. Now I have cavities on every single one of my teeth they are also starting to go back to how they used to be before I had braces on.

1/28/22- today I got impressions, pictures, and X-rays I hated the impressions, But I’m going to be getting braces on 2/24/22! Keep you updated! (I’m really excited but I know I won’t be after I get them)

@Drippy codm it hurts the first 2 days but after that you'll just get used to it and I recommend using chapstick and wax it really helps! Hope this helps!

Hello Doc. Would like to know if premolar extraction can minimize lip protrusion? I got my braces, no crowding issue. Planning to have my premolars extracted to improve side profile, will it help? Or is it somehow recommended? Hope you can make a video for it.

Hi doc Greg I tend to be talkative and ask questions also talk about what I know and studied about dentistry do you guys will find that some kind annoying? Anyways keep doing the good work docc.
I got a waterpik and a oral-b IO9, but my orthodontist says they are bad, and I should instead use a manual toothbrush and interdental brushes.
I'm not sure why my orthodontist feels this way, but I'm 1000% sure my oral hygiene is better with an electric toothbrush. I don't like ignoring the orthodontist's instructions, but my oral hygienist says my brushing is fantastic, so I'm thinking to maintain my current waterpik (and interdental brushes) + oral b io9 routine.
I tend to brush too hard when I use a manual brush.
i think they say the electric brush is bad because it’s hard to brush the gum with the brackets on your teeth and they want to make sure your gums stay healthy during treatment. But i use an oral b io too and i haven’t had a problem either
Hi Dr Greg, I've had my braces for a year already and I'm still in the process of aligning my teeth. My orthodontist says that my teeth are exceptionally stubborn because I have dense bones around my teeth.
Are there any other biology-related things that could prolong treatment?
Have you ever had patients who have similar case to mine?
I was very frustrated as an adult to have braces put on in 2018 and I am "expected" to have completed my treatment in 2023. it's thought depending on the situation. my ortho company switched doctors on me 3 times so far and each have made different changes to my treatment. I won't be surprised if it takes longer than 2023 as it's much harder to do treatment as an adult than a younger person. Best of luck to you.

Dr Greg. I'm getting my braces in two weeks. I asked for damon braces and after examining my xray i was called traditional braces is the way to go. Is it true that damon braces cannot be used to treat all cases?
I have a question. I have had my braces for almost 4 years. I had an overbite and my front 2 teeth overlapped. I had all 4 of my pre molars removed to bring back my bite. Oh and I have a tongue thrust because I use to suck my thumbs. Now my teeth straighten out after a month and my overbite was finally brought back this year, the spaces of my premolars keep opening and closing based on how I was told to wear my elastics. Now I was told to wear my elastics a certain way the raised the whole right side of my mouth so now my bottom teeth are slanted. It is now that my ortho said I’m almost done. Sorry, here is the question what do I do now? Because my bottom teeth are slanted and my ortho is like well we did all we can do and I was a complicated case but I don’t think so.

Dr Greg, I hope you see this because I need some help. I just got a palate expander in and it really sucks! The dentist said I'll probably have to have it for several months. Is there any way to make the palate expander work more quickly? Other than wearing the rubber bands and turning the key like he says. Are there any other tips to make this process go quicker? I'm an adult btw.

Just had my first appointment after getting braces. When I first got them they told me I couldn't add color and today when I went for my tightening, they only added color to the top teeth (noticed after I left). Does anyone know why?
