On this Airstream Life vLog, we get to take another awesome tour with Experience! The Finger Lakes. This time we are joining their Fine Wines of Southwest Seneca Wine tour. On this tour, we get transported to 3 different vineyards for tastings plus get an awesome lunch at a local food joint.
First stop is the Lakewood Winery. This is a larger winery in the area and has been growing for a very long time. We get an immersive stop here which means we have someone from the winery take us through the entire winemaking process. We get to see the barrel room, the vineyards, the grape presses and more all while sipping delicious wine. We also get a full tasting ending with their delicious port and locally made chocolate. Yum! We end up buying a couple of bottles since all the wineries gave us discounts for being part of the tour.
The next stop was lunch the FLX Wienery. This food joint specializes in local weiners, burgers and more. We enjoyed family style sides such as french fries, gluten-free onion strings, and kettle chips before digging into our burgers. We got to taste some delicious wine and beer here too to pair with our food. Yum! Don't forget the table side honey roasted marshmallows to end the meal!
Our third stop was Barnstormer Winery where we had an elegant sit-down tasting with the tasting manager. Wow! We learned about the history or the vineyard, how the weather over the last couple of years has drastically affected the wine, and what makes them different being such a small boutique winery. Lovely!
Our last stop was at Bellangelo Winery where we once again got an immersive experience, this time with the owner and winemaker Chris. Chris showed us how to disgorge sparkling wine and explained the whole process. We even got to taste the freshly disgorged sparkling rose. Amazing! Once again we got to have a sit-down tasting, this time in their tasting room overlooking beautiful Seneca Lake. What an amazing way to end the tour.
What made this different from us going touring on our own was the amount of knowledge we were shared on this tour. We got to feel the passion from the winemakers themselves and try things we otherwise would never have known to try. It made us feel like we were insiders in the finger lakes wine community. We highly recommend taking one of Experience! the FInger Lakes's tours if you are ever in the area in the future. You will not regret it.

Looks like so much fun! If you’re near Canandaigua in New York check out Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Park. Hubby and I visited on our honeymoon in 1979. It wasn’t a state park back then. But beautiful and lots of cool history

I know that you are just visiting but Seneca Lakes Wine Trail does a “Deck the Halls” event the end of November and the beginning of December which is a blast. You visit 30+ wineries over 2 1/2 days. The wine and the food parings are amazing. It is just a good time with great people. Thanks for the great video.

Can't wait to start our trip to Finger lakes. Selling house and buying new location for our company is really messing up our travel. What a trip. I know we will follow much of your path.

Hee hee. The Wienery! Pig butts *are* pretty great.
    Awwww...winery kitty!
I love doing factory/distillery tours. This one looked like tons of fun. My boyfriend and I may have a similar tourist style to you folks. :) Learn something. Eat/drink something. Find the whimsical.

why no one talks about price !! how much was it.

Timebandit RvTravels - Some wineries give free tours and tastings, most charge a reasonable fee, the ones I’ve toured cost $10 to $35, and some have tiered pricing if you want to sample their more expensive collections. Most give you a fair sized gulp in each glass, only a few gave us a sip in a tiny plastic pill cup, which sounds cheap but with a large winery with many selections I didn’t mind. And yes, there have been a few times where I’ve walked, sorry, staggered away very happy. LOL! Bottom line, check the wineries website for more info. Keep in mind that they price reasonably to encourage participation and fuel wine sales. It is a great way to sample a lot of different wines and find the few that you like!

After watching this I have one burning question... Where does Welch"s get their grapes from NOW? 😳 GREAT VIDEO! Edit - if you’re ever in Asheville NC, check out the Baltimore estate, their winery alone is worth the trip! At 7:44 Oh Muh Gawd! You so need that puppy 🐶 wine bottle holder 🍷!!! Edit 2: BTW • Your hair looks wonderful in this video! (Please don’t take this the wrong way, just a simple observation). Edit 3: is it my imagination or the more wine you had, the better the wineries and views became? LOL! Love it, that’s hilarious!
