The best wand is the wand that chooses you. Everyone knows that.
Generally speaking yes. But a person can change through out their life, and some wands are better at adjusting than others, so it could very well happen, that you need a different wand at some point. And there does seem to be some room for the witch or wizard's personal prefference - not just the wands'.

@@oohbootiga7649 I don't think it's "The Elder wand" since the Elder wand is a 15 inches with Thestral hair core and hard flexibility. But I personally believe that our character could find and possibly obtain it. Since there's no accurate owner of the Elder wand in the late 1800s it's possible.
I have a feeling the reason they are letting us connect our wands because at some point in the story we might control our powers through another ancient wand and "lose" or "break" our original. I think the wand in the Collector's Edition isn't just for an aesthetic it's probably a real important part of the game. Another great video as always!

I really hope that they include wands having different abilities - what they are better or worse for, because they are essentially a weapon and in other games you can customize that not just visually, but also it's qualities / power.
I don’t think it makes a lot of sense to enable everybody to connect their Wands if players are forced to switch Wands at some point of the game
@@platinstar being forced to change the wand definitely not my favourite thought, however, upgrading and customizing my wand IF I choose so - a whole different story.
So I retook the test, and my original is Hazel, but I got Ebony recently because I think I put my eye color Green instead of.. well, Hazel XD

I don't know about anyone else, but I was waiting for Solomon Sallow to go insane over the player because he found out they controlled Ancient Magic. It could have been amazing for Sebastian's storyline. (Also with a romance option for our favourite Slytherin)
I have a beech wand, with a pheonix core. At first I was kinda upset, because my friends all got cool wands such as ebony, and ash wood. That being said I realized that the wand was perfect because I'm goofy, and it chose me for the sole reason that I will run around with the best puns... i.e. no one can beat me when I got this Son of a Beech.
I Feel that way about my patronus! Tho I still wish I had a cooler animal, rather than a horse... 😅 (no offence to horses)
@@MsMunchkinHP horses aren't that bad. My friend got a squirrel. I ended up in gryffindor with a hippogriff as my patronus so tbh after the beech wand grew on me. I'm content lol

I got a Rowan Wand with unicorn hair, 13 and 1/4, Quite Bendy and flexible. Supposedly good at protective defensive magic and only used by light witches and wizards.
Add that to my Hufflepuff house...and I think I have a good fit.
Phoenix core is the rarest core types, so that’s something special. And it’s the one harry has.
My wand is dogwood (one of the favourite woods of Garrick Ollivander!) with unicorn hair core, 14 1/2", unyielding, and I love it! It describes me perfectly (besides the similarity with my nickname in Pottermore: UnicornWormwood189). Many dogwood wands refuse non-verbal spells, but not all; and, if someone matches really with it, specially if he or she is clever, his or her dogwood wand will help him or her in a real difficult moment.
I doubt we'll get Salazar Slytherin's wand. Mainly because in HP lore, Slytherin's wand went to the states with Gormlaith Gaunt when she went after Isolt Sayre. The wand was buried in the courtyard at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and ended up growing into a snakewood tree. This all happened in the 1600's, before Hogwarts Legacy takes place. However, I do think we'll end up with Merlin's wand at some point. It's probably the wand that's inside the Collectors Edition.
Nah that wand was used for one specific purpose. Not casting spells but as a key.

There can be at least 2 elder wands. Considering you can import your wand from the site, and you can get an elder wand there, that makes at least 2 (as in, your elder wand that you just get and the one made by death). Whether the latter will actually show up in game is anyone's guess.
Yeah elder wood while not common due to the stories of elder wand. (Elder never prospers or something like that) 8ts notnun heard of. The elder wand of death however is unique in the fact it use thesteral tail hair I think
Your wand may be made of Elder wood, but the core of THE Elder Wand doesn't exist in the game. The only core options game-wise are Dragon Heartstring, Unicorn Hair, and Phoenix Feather. The Elder Wand uses Thestral Hair as its core.
I don't think any of the Deathly Hallows are actually unique. the story about the Deathly Hallows wasn't actually about the origin of 3 unique ultra powerful magic items, it was a cautionary tale about seeking power. Those who lust after the Deathly Hallows completely missed the point of the story. THE Elder Wand, is just an elder wand. there's nothing really special about it other than people lost a lot of time, effort, and in some cases their lives, believing it was the ultimate wand and would make them super powerful. THE cloak of invisibility, is just AN invisibility cloak. THE resurrection stone is just a device created to allow people to contact those who are dead. it's neither ultra powerful, nor capable of resurrecting anyone. Voldemort tried to understand why the wand didn't make him more powerful, he would never be able to understand because he completely missed the point of the story. It's just a wand.

In terms of wand Lore my best match would be Ebony wood or blackthorn wood im fine with either one around 14" total length unyielding soft spiral shaft with personalized etching on the shaft and handle.
as for the core iv got a couple questions about dragon heart string and thunderbird feather core.
1. Does the strength of the dragon heart string core depend on the dragon it came from ?
2. It's said that dragon heart string and Thunderbird feather cores have high power output for the spells they produce but is the thunderbird feather equal, less or greater than the power produced from a dragon heartstring core ?
3. Is it possible for herbalist to grow hybrid woods like how we make new flowers by mixing seeds to grow together into one new creation ?

Wish they had added other cores like thunder bird or even basilisk horn somehow (easter egg in game) since a side mission did mention ilvermorny, that and poachers camps could've had core materials like that runespore egg.

I'm honestly hoping that they don't go with the three wand cores that are found within the book even though we know now that you can transfer your wand from the website. Imo This will mess with the cannon simply because those three cores (Dragon, Unicorn and Phoenix) weren't really used until Olivander himself tested different cores to find the best ones, before that a whole list of "subpar" cores were used. The big three weren't impossible to find but they would have been much rarer, so I really hope we see a list of cores rather than everyone having just those three. Newts wand for example has core with Mother of Pearl (from the actor but is still unconfirmed) I'd love to see cores like this or maybe Coral, quartz, Kelpie leaf, Hippogriff feather etc.
If I was a wand maker I would use a core using the essence of a dementor. It would be insane!
@@DomBogey94 I've always been fascinated with wand lore tbh and magical beasts. I believe if I was in the harry potter universe it would be my profession, I love the big three cores don't get me wrong but people need to have options, going with what's simply the best isn't always the ideal solution. Even in our world if you look at mobiles there is some diehard Apple fans that will only buy their devices despite there being better options but then there are people who will buy what looks good as well. The game should have gone with canon imo, it wasn't untill Garrick himself that the use of the big 3 cores became the norm, Garrick himself said that his father used other cores (kelphie hair and Kneazle whiskers) yet this game is set in the late 19th century with Garrick's grandfather running the buisness so there should definitely be more wand variations.
I’ve asked this before but I’m just a generally paranoid and indecisive person😂 does anyone know if we’ll be able to choose what our wand is despite linking the WWaccount? On my original account, I got Harry’s wand wood and core(which I’m a little iffy about) and had linked it. But recently I made a new account and got a poplar wand and now I’m torn on if I should disconnect my original account and connect the new one or if I can leave it and just change my wand when I play the game. Heck, I wanna know if I can just get the rewards since I know I can still get into my house without connecting my WW account. Sorry if this seems complicated I may be making it seem more difficult than it has to be
I got a Vine Wood Wand with a Phoenix Feather core, 14 1/2 inches, and Slightly Yielding Flexibility. My house is Ravenclaw. So in summary I got the same type of wand wood as Hermione, the same core as Harry, and nothing really to do with Ron. Plus, I got sorted into the house that many suspect Hermione should have been in. How do you like those apples?

You don't need dark magic to be evil levicorpus or wingardium leviosar and drop someone off a cliff or incendio and burn people. Light isn't always good

I have Apple wood wand as well. With a dragon core. Having a dragon core doesn’t mean our wands will lean into the dark arts. That choice is up to the witch or wizard. Our wood is pretty rare and unique. I love my wand combination lol.

Last time I did the test, I got Maple with dragon core and White mare. I also got sorted into Hufflepuff, Even tho before I was always Gryffindor and had a different wand as well. Only the patronus stayed almost the same.

Overall which is the better wand core, dragon heartstring or phoenix feather?
There's no real answer, but judging from what I read, the phoenix feather is harder to pair with many wand Woods. It doesn't mean, that it's a bad functioning core - just needs everything to be right.
@@MsMunchkinHP correct me if I am wrong. But dragon heartstrings is known for powerful and sometimes violent bursts of magic. While phoinex is more consistent and in the right hands more powerful with greater potential for doing great feats of magic.

ones choose not to work with this wood
we might find Merlin's wand in Hogwarts
Legacy in the game we will be doing

have been hidden since Merlin himself
attended Hogwarts well what if his grave
which was never found is actually hidden
somewhere near Hogwarts and upon finding
it we also find his wand Salazar

I'm going to craft my own wand. I know the type of wizard I'd be and pottermore sold me elder wood.
Through my own research I find that Yue or Holly is more my style. I'm more of protection over power. Knowledge over disloyalty.

From what I can gather from all three wands there is still something perhaps that binds them to you. In a simplified version. Holly wands are known for protective magic for wizards going on dangerous quests. Yew wands equally can be found matched with wizards who are fierce protectors and who are far from timid. Lastly elder wands are notoriously difficult to control and are wielded by wizards with a strong resolve and the capabilities to achieve their destinies.
Perhaps in this context the elder wood wand is linked to you in moments of strong resolve to protect those you care about and when your destiny is bound to this purpose.
Atleast, that's my interpretation of it. In the end, the wand chooses the wizard after all.
On a side note, given that you are crafting your own wand, which core would you match with your wand wood?

My wand is almost perfect for a Grey Wizard(Grey Jedi if this was Star Wars) Hawthorne is adept at healing, curses and dark arts while dragoncores are very powerful.
If they make the effort of boiling down each wand to a +5% to 2 different stats it won't be that difficult to see a wide variety of wands that have pros and cons.
the con of a Hawthorne wand would be volatility with improperly cast spells which could be a problem casting spells out of your skill range. Maybe each spell is tied to different stats and not having those stats means the spell could accidentally misfire.
I don't care what wand I'm going to use. Just know imma AVADA KEDAVRA goblins left and right

I didn't actually know that! I mostly found Salazar's wand fascinating as it's a dead giveaway of the existance of the chamber of secrets and the magical beast inside it.

So, to get this right. The game has emotional wands that if you chose the wrong one it will just refuse to work or act badly depending on what you do in gameplay? Am I the only one, that feels this seems pretty stupid if that is the case? Different abilities, cool. A wand that had its own mind and if it doesn't like you, you will have to start all over from scratch if I am reading this right? Not cools!
Many can say my wand will choose me no I will choose it i will pursue power in this game and pull what many call a Tom riddle I will be so strong that the wand will not contain my power I will be the strongest Slytherin
But Tom did have his wand choose him just so happened to have a piece of Dumbledor in it

You can link your wizarding world account to the game and use that for character creation. It’s confirmed that you can use the WW profile to pick a house (tho I assume you can also change it in character creation). I don’t think they’ve mentioned the wands, but if you *can* set your wand in the cc, then that means you can use the results of the wand quiz on WW.

From what I've read, it's an excellent wand and definitely a sign of a good witch or wizard, since no dark wizard has ever been in possesion of one 😉

It doesn't matter stats wise, what wand you get, plus in the game you can change Every single thing about your wand and get which ever wand you want.

It describes me perfectly (besides the similarity with my nickname in Pottermore: UnicornWormwood189). Many dogwood wands refuse non-verbal spells, but not all; and, if someone matches really with it, specially if he or she is clever, his or her dogwood wand will help him or her in a real difficult moment.

It's accurate if you follow the lore and don't want to just hold a piece of wood. The video was made prior to the game's release, when they allowed to connect your wizarding world and WB accounts. I see it as a missed opportunity from them, as a lot of other things don't matter in the game. You represent your house same as you represent your wand.
