A bit of advise from someone that got his first in 1961 for 10th birthday. Started with a rear grip rubber band speargun. But changed to pneumatic because the bands weren't reliable. And mid handed grip was a revelation. If you only hunt fish out in the open any rear grip gun is perfect, But if you sneak/peek/hunt holes, the handiness makes a hugge dif. Eventually grew up to super powerful 120 Cm gun and a 9mm 130 cm spear. Great for very close cave, big fish snapshots as well beyond 4mts/12 ft big fish with power to spare. One thing about the wide But at the rear. It has to be slimmed down so you can work the but arround shoulder and under armpit and the grip placed for the same. Most suits have a loading plate on chest anyway. Penn 65 to 67 trolling reel(The brake realy work when you have to stop one from running to a hole) and 50 yds of stainless cable(Much better than spectra as it sinks and very hard to get tangled or cut off) to play big pelagics. Forgot about the drawback of pneumatic, the deeper you dive you loose power. Thats where bands thrive👍

Not sure where you would take it but something for kids or family would be right up your alley. You have the drive, integrity and contacts. Maybe your kids could make it real big one day. I might be late, but I’m a 16 year old who also build spear guns exactly like those but without decoration. But just by looking at them, it’s making me want to start building them with decorations for myself and to sell. But how much is one gun?
We use quite a few GoPros. The 10’s have been our favorite the last year or two (whenever they came out). But usually each model gets a little better, besides a 9 I had that was always problematic

Cool, they are definitely a work of art. This one was a while ago, I believe retail was around $1000 but not positive.
Try making a speargun out of Kinnel dried cypress wood. Light and durable wood.

Sara u need to learn to brain and bleed fish as soon as you shoot them so sharks won’t be notified
Blood attracts sharks (if that’s a concern). Braining definitely a great recommendation
