Basically the problem is that the curriculum in most of the colleges is based on rote learning. Also the quality of faculties teaching there is questionable. There is almost no emphasis on productive learning which in turn creates a lot of divergence between what we study and what is actually required.
and after combining all these factors a useless product is created after 4 years of so called study whose application is not known by the individual.
So guys either work hard if you are poor or shell out a lot of money if you have a privilege to be rich and get a good college.Good faculties, world class infrastructure along with competitive peers are very essential to make life smooth afterwards.

I really disagree with few things here as a software developer (10+ yrs)...
Even mechanic will say I'm car mechanic or bike mechanic. Moreover, he/she will claim his/her speciality as well like puncture, cleaning, spare parts. So Java, python, c# are somewhat similar.
2nd, if I agreed with his statements only then I would like to mention that a software engineers do have to use multiple tools, technologies, languages, lo#a-lesun; especially these days because companies want 1 person do work of 5 people. So fullstack developer is required to have skills and experience of UI/UX, architecture, database design, programming language, latest tools, testing, devops, release with team leading, Agile methodologies and other 20 things.
Lastly, he even accepted he is somewhat privileged today but usually, ek baar jab insaan paisa kama leta he uske baad vo Hawa me baate zyada karne lagta he. E.g. oil company example he used; the technology has replaced manpower and he said jobs profiles are shifted; job losses didn't occur. To bhai kya us company ne un workers ko software engineers ki job di kya? Acha chalo basic ui/ux designer ya software tester ki job me bhi rakh liya kya unko (these jobs consider easy comparatively). The Company had thrown out those people and hired tech people instead.
Anyways, nothing much to say further. Agar ye comment hi sahi logo tak poch gaya to bhi bahot badi baat he.

degree has a benefit if it is in the fields of medicine or law. engineering mein uski koi value nhi hai unless it is from iit or bits. tu 200cr ki baat kr rha hai, elon musk ki naam bhi suni hai kya? he is a dropout but now one of the richest in the world. degree doesnt give you guarantee of ending up like that too.

Degree is not useless but in technical field, your skills matter the most. If you are a topper of your institution and you lack the skills, then obviously your degree is useless. Tech companies demand the skills as compared to degree.
