Bill Tomlinson set the record at lake of the ozarks in 2011 or 12 with 224mph in My Way. Than spirit of quatar broke it in 2014 with 244mph. I know the mechanic that works on My Way and with some tuning he said that they could beat that speed. How ever i believe Bill has retired from setting world records. Now he is just enjoying life as he should. He has earned it. All very impressive.

I always wondered what it would be like to power up a pontoon boat..what if you used an inboard outboard drive that uses a chevy inline "6" as they have the same bell housing bolt pattern of a chevy old school V8 ...build in a cut out area of the deck of your pontoon boat and frame in a mounting system for your chevy V8 or any of your favorite brands ..im using chevy as they are popular to come by and buy using the inboard outboard drive ...and set up the engine with todays bolt on EFI self tuning intake and all from hot rod suppliers , fine a set of long tube headers , bolt them on up side down swapped from left to right as you can on old school chevy V8 cylinder heads ..bolt on some welded header mufflers for a drag boat "style" exhaust ..and tada a cheap pontoon hot rod with a V8 sound ...speed? Who knows , but the novelty of the whole thing could be some pretty good fun
