I Like how they did not try to crame 16 channels of amplification into their receivers. Do 7 channels and the rest, use and external amp.

Hmmm, looks just like the new JBL synthesis processors!
Audiocontrol, JBL synthesis and Lexicon are all based on the Arcam platform.
The different companies tweaks them a bit.
Audiocontrol puts some upgraded dacs in, and use their class H amps on the big one. JBL adds Logic16 decoding and Dante protocol support. No news if Lexicon will join this new generation, or if the JBL will be the "new" Lexicon (JBL, Arcam and Lexicon are owned by Harman/Samsung).

a 16 channel processor is the way of the future.... and this doesnt cost $17k (looking at you Trinnov)
True but still not cheap. I believe the x9 is $9600. Im interested in knowing what upgrade plans it will have. That's some serious change especially if the hdmi isnt upgradeable. I want some future proofing at that price and with that key component of my ht. Trinnov is first to offer dtsx pro but competition like this hopefully means that kevel of quality in more of our nutty hands:)
at a certain point you just have to pay to play. I like best bang for the buck. If money was no object then I may change my opinions. :)
