  • If you like Piña Coladas... you'll LOVE a Painkiller. Most of America partied a bit too hard last night and is in pain, so drink these.
    **********************************
The Painkiller is a drink with a clearly defined history. It was invented in the 70's at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost van Dyke, a so-called Sailor's Paradise in the British Virgin Islands. The bar supposedly got it's name because it's not accessible from the land, only by sea, so folks would wade in for a drink and pay with their soggy cash.
The drink is sort of like a more sophisticated version of a Piña Colada, there's no blender involved, but that's not saying TOO much. It's still a very sweet boozey treat that is hard to miss with. Everyone loves these things.
The Soggy Dollar is a bar I hope to visit some day, and hopefully sooner rather than later. As I mention in the video I'm an aspirant sailor, Just gotta buy that boat...
In the meantime though I enjoy watching Gone with the Wynn's, and you should too. Check out their channel via the link in the pinned comment.
    Painkiller
1 oz. or 30 ml. Orange Juice
1 oz. or 30 ml. Cream of Coconut
4 oz. or 240 ml. Pineapple juice
2 oz. or 60 ml. Rum
Shake over ice and open pour into double rocks
    garnish with fresh nutmeg

I wanted you all (Greg and everybody behind the scenes) to know that stumbling onto this episode (and consequentially this channel) was my intro to the world of incredible rums, especially those of the funky Jamaican variety. From the first sniff of my first bottle of Smith and Cross, literally it was as though I used to love it and then got knocked on the head and suffered from amnesia and forgot all about one of my favorite things for a decade or so., and that first sniff brought back all of my cherished memories and wonderful imbibing experiences with it all at once. And for that I thank everybody who brings this content to life.

I think y'all got the math wrong on that metric conversion. If the drink is supposed to be 1oz oj, 1oz cream of coconut, 4 oz of pineapple juice and 2oz of rum, then the conversion should be 30ml oj and coconut, 60ml rum and *120* ml pineapple on account of 120 being twice 60.
That, or every metric user who ever went to the Soggy Dollar fuckin' LOVES pineapple juice.

Now that we've seen the Painkiller, how would a "Max Paynekiller" go, substituting the rum for a whisky and adapting it around that? Thought it might be an interesting take, since the last we see of Max is him relaxing at a bar on a beach in Bahia, and his signature drink is a fictional whisky.

Also, there's a drink called the Bob Hope (or at least, thats the name I know it by) that I've modified.
1 1/2 oz Malibu (or your preferred coconut rum)
    3/4 oz of Blue Curacao
    2 oz Pineapple Juice
    1 oz Cream
Mix equal parts Blue Curacao and water in a separate cup. Nothing fancy, I usually just swirl them together in a plastic cup and set it to the side.
Then, shake your coconut rum, pineapple juice, and cream over ice. Pretty sure if you use Coconut Creme it'd be better, but I work at a dive bar so we don't get that fancy.
Pour into a chilled coup glass (or don't. I don't judge that much) and carefully layer your watered down Curacao mix over the back of a bar spoon. Then watch as it slowly filters down anyway, say "screw it," and drink it anyway.
