I really love how they flipped the origin theme in this movie... it’s always been, Peter doesn’t help, bad thing happens, realizing that he needs to help people or else bad things will happen...
Whereas in this... it hits so much harder that he tries to do the right thing always, and bad things still happen... so he questions why even bother... and then to honor May, he decides to live by her words... incredible.

I was a bit perplexed by Strange. He started the spell before the two of them clarified what it would entail. I thought he was more thorough than that. Peter was a good boy and waited until it was clear that he wouldn't get more info, then he started thinking of implications. Peter knew he had limited time si he started talking when the first thought was made. Strange didn't allow Peter to get info, nor did he allow Peter to ponder about specifics but he did allow Peter to impact the spell despite the dangers.
    This is all on Strange.

      @TheCrazyOrange Před 2 lety +14

Agreed, kind of assumed they did it for plot's-sake but I would think Strange's character is less likely to do that since (like this video pointed out) he didn't accept to help Peter until it was clear it was for the good of others, and that stemmed from his past learning experience. Idk, that was my only major like "why did they make it like that" after watching the movie in theaters

3:30 The actual reason he webbed the window shut is because Tom Holland improvised it after failing the scripting of closing it normally. They kept it in the film as it was more likely for Peter to do this, and also easier for him.
7:23 This could be a reference to Andrew Garfield's character in The Social Network, in that famous scene where he just goddamn roasts the sh*t out of Jesse Eisenberg's Mark Zuckerberg, and tells him to "lawyer up, a**hole."
9:01 Maybe this is a reference to the well-known tradition in Spider-Man media where the news (namely Daily Bugle) always turns Spider-Man's actions against him to make him out to be a criminal.
13:35 Wong wearing the winter coat is probably more because London is freezing, and it's winter/Christmas in the film, so it'll be cold and snowy in more than just the Sanctum Sanctorum.
15:34 Despite everyone assuming the MIT lady is Rio Morales, I don't think it is. Rio Morales across all media we see her is a school teacher. Also, I know it's a stretch, but with what happens in the first parts of the film, if it was Rio, I think she would most likely have been driving with her husband Jefferson Davis, who due to him being a police officer in all recent Miles media, would be there to protect Rio from anything related to what's happened.
16:01 The E.D.I.T.H error is more likely due to Peter personally disconnecting himself from E.D.I.T.H again, like in FFH. This would cause him to not have the assistance from her AI.
21:04 Norman didn't present himself as helpless, he was helpless. He had just arrived in a world he doesn't recognise, where his company never exists, and is still struggling with the Goblin in his mind. The whole Norman sub-plot in the film before he becomes Green Goblin again is about him wanting help to get rid of the Goblin. He even offers Peter his help to fix the other villains as well as himself. He just needed help from anyone, because he was tired of the Goblin being a part of him.

I think there’s also very important details in the talk they have in prison.
Electro says “…he caused an overload, I was stuck in the grid, absorbing data…”, I think that shows that:
1: he did’t actually die in TASM 2, he just was like absorbed to the grid
2: that could also be the reason he knows Peters identity (justifiing him being brought by the spell), by the data he was absorbing (maybe got something on Peter’s cloud, a chat with Gwen or something like that) that reveals his identity but not his actual face (also justifiing him being surprised by Peter not being black, even though he someway knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man)
Also, what jumped to me as a discrepancy, is that Sandman says Goblin death impaled by his own glider was on the news, weird, since Harry didn’t know that till his butler told him

Yes and later on in the scene, we were also shown that tobey's peter was physically stronger than tom's version as he was able to hold back peter who was enraged and using his full power, with not much effort. This also shows us that the Train scene in Spider-man 2 was far more gruelling than tom's ferry holding scene in homecoming that lasted for like 4 seconds. I guess that pretty much debunks the theorizers who kept saying tom is stronger than tobey.

I think this is a reference to Robert Louis Stevenson's story "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", where Dr. Jekyll is the public, contained, law-abiding individual and Mr. Hyde is all the impulses and inhibitions manifested in an unrestrained personality. Both characters are very much like the movie's Norman and Green Goblin persona.

    • Also Ravencroft is firstly shown in TASM2 and then in Venom 2.
    • And last, in Morbius trailer we saw in newspaper about Rhino and Blackcat which only appears in Andrew universe.
I hope Venom & Morbius & TASM is same universe, he deserves to complete his story. 😭😭

I mean iirc before that andrew got fired and sony hacks scandal. The plan was to create sony universe which is by making a spin off character like venom and morbius and the Spider-Man for that universe basically Andrew. They already release 2 venom spin off and 1 morbius. With how's hype andrew recently i can see Sony maybe gonna re-continued amazing Spider-Man

Suck it up Spider-Man troll snowflake lovers, it’s time for y’all to get butt hurt with facts about this movie. Sorry for messing y’all up with y’all’s tissue and lube with Spider-Man🤣🤣🤣. Mess up number 1, this is 100 percent fan service instead of a enjoyable movie which kills a lot of things. Mess up number 2, they made Dr. strange look stupid when clearly he is smarter than Spider-Man and can prevent him from escaping and take box away from him like it’s nothing. Mess up number 3, Only in Kevin Feige’s dumb little mind that Spider-Man can beat Dr.Strange in his own meer dimension lmao. Mess up number 4,This movie is really all about Spider-Man getting into MIT which is definitely a dumb way building this plot around. Why didn’t he just go to another college? Not difficult to do lol. Mess up number 5, the pacing in this movie is atrocious and it drags on during multiple parts for way to long and the action in this movie was so bland.mess up number 6, what was the point of curing the villains, only just to send them back to their time line and die? It just doesn’t make any sense🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As i mentioned in a reply before, Strange altered the spell 6 times, one being for himself. In the end we had 6 villans. Venom was the 6th. Although we don't know how they would interact he was also brought to this universe.
At least this is what i'd like to believe...that Strange was on the list 😞

The posters (the middle one with Peter's face and horns) shown in jj's news at 4:03 might foreshadow Martin Lee aka Mr. Negative in the next spiderman movie and he might be a fitting villain for the next one since Peter has so many pent up negative emotions and also there is a little bit of venom left behind (since Martin Lee and venom prey or rely on negative emotions)
