All those are great book recommendations- I have them all. The Carlson book is spectacular. I have Mitchell’s new book, too, and it’s great. I’ll be releasing a podcast episode with him soon. Thank you for sharing these. One book I would add is Len Chmiel’s book An Authentic Nature.
Hi Carl, The Carlson book is such a fantastic resource; I pick 1 or 2 of the images per day to study and learn from. I have Len’s book also and agree it is amazing but I will save it for another video. His paint handling and design are masterful. You interview all my heroes on your podcast and I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the great work and thank you for your comment!
@@ScottRuthvenFineArt thank you, Scott!
Damned, you dib t have yet tha latest Albala edition 2021 ?! But thanks for others
I read the Wilson Hurley book in about three days. I couldn’t put it down. I wish I had met him too
I found his letters to other artists about the business of art so insightful. Like a trusted mentor.
I just ordered the Carlson book from your link. I have and love the other two.
Oh, wonderful! I think you will really enjoy it. Let me know. And thank you for using my link.
Just ordered the Carlson book. it is good to see such a positive review and great images. thanks :)... (Your in Tokyo Scott? I lived there for 6 years and miss it so much... especially miso ramen in Ginza ! )
Hi Steve, I think you’ll really enjoy the Carlson book! I’m back at my home in Fort Collins, Colorado but love my times in Tokyo. It’s a whole different world and I’ve barely scratched the surface. I imagine your 6 years was life-changing. I would love to travel and paint the entire country. Thanks for taking the time to comment! My best to you.
