    To check Range attacks hold [Shift] and then press [X], [C].
    For those who don't know, pressing [X] and [C] shows Charge Range.
    Use this knowledge to give yourself another turn of shooting, get a flanking charge, or cite the Melee Units to death.

    The best part of this series is that MA doesn’t have to loose his mind each time a replay breaks.

    On a Map, top right corner, Army View, you can adjust how wide your big squads are, there will be arrows on the side, also there, if you click on unit's name on his info sheet, you can rename them.

    One of the big things I have found? Always, always, ALWAYS pick at least one point in skill as soon as it shows up. You want more models? So do I! But the only thing that matters is skill. The second most important, if you ever get to choose? Wounds. But higher skill means you get hit less often and you hit more. Unless you have a very strong ranged army that is going to decimate even with low hit chance (because you are machinegunning hard and fast), then you need to close in fast and win combat after combat, even if you get attacked on the flanks. The Beastmen two parter was fun ^^ But damn if seeing you NOT picking up Skill was nagging me because I thought that'd screw you over XD In the end all was fine tho :3
    Also, yes: The last battle doesn't count towards the number of kills. Otherwise in my last playthrough (Dwarves) my veterans (with crossbows that you can buy in the shop) would've gone up to 400+ kills. Then again The squad was 23 models at the end of it all and had skill 4 to boot...

    Very much enjoying this series. Also i wholeheartedly support your stance toward elves. Pointy eared bastards.

  • @sambojinbojin-sam6550

    I like how you start out each run using units well, baiting/ running enemies around, tanking and flanking with coordinated movement and charges. By the end of a run its just flapping your arms, deploying badly or in/around very obvious difficult terrain, never planning ahead or taking enemy moves into account, blaming your units and rolls, forgetting how to use harpies or ambush, as you frontal charge everything (or not even counter-charge when it's the objectively better thing to do than taking a charge with that unit type), box in your own units, forget abilities, and still muddle on through for the win. I know it gets harder to do the more enemy units you face, but it's sometimes like you get worse with a faction the more level-ups your units have, the more units you have, and the play-time you have with them.
    It's a lot like WHFB in that way. The difference between 500-750pt battles, where everyone's a strategic master, to 2000pt battles where it's like "how the hell do I deal with all that?". Its been fun to watch. Thanks!

      I'm going to see if I can get SOVL going on my phone under Winlator. It looks like a perfect mobile game.
      (Also, as a tip, you can click "Army View" in between battles, and make units wider or deeper. Very handy after increasing unit sizes. 5wide +3backline cav, or 4x2 and maneuverable? You usually want a good frontage, but considering how you deploy units, it's worthwhile keeping in mind.
      Also handy when you take casualties, to still min/max hitting power and movement)

  • @NoiReborn
    @NoiReborn Před 2 dny

    Just wanted to point out, when you where at the camp and took a bunch of increased unit sizes, those where a bad idea since it was basically impossible to guarantee you could replenish before the last battle. Taking a battle instead of the event and winning it without too many losses would be the only way, but it is almost always better to go for stat increases if possible on the last stretch

    Seemed like the Harpies make really good distractions for another unit which, in this game, seems kinda meh when you can just have big hairy beastmen that can just plow into them anyway. Since ranged can't shoot into combat it doesn't seem like harassing them is really a thing like it is in TW. But idk, I'm just writing down my thoughts tbh.

    • @Matt-lk5ng
      @Matt-lk5ng Před 2 dny

      You use the harpies to get flanking charges and to tie up ranged units so you dont take 5000 arrows on approach on your more expensive units.
