Britain left(kinda) in 1960, then prime minister selected....then massive coup spree for like 2 decades, then biafran civil war between the north and the southern protectorates of Nigeria that lasted for a decade then civilian rule, then poverty, then oil boom, then corruption(till this day), only Lagos Island and Abuja got touched with the money and the rest states were left to rot basically. So yes I am aware that Nigeria is underdeveloped but nobody decided to be broke and underdeveloped....we just happened to have marvelous leaders with incredible foresight is all🤡
Some of the comment here sums Nigeria up,if you think this is beautiful then Nigeria has a big problem.The airport area is half decent and the island,the rest is like shanty hell hole.The whole of down town lagos need total renovation,the bridges rails need painting and cleaning,the buildings need total renovation and painting.Why does Nigeria hate painting houses?They rather watch them fall to ruin and dilapidated instead of painting and renovating.Our leaders lack taste and standard,they should all go to east Africa, not even europe and learn how to build beautiful cities.This is awful,painful to the eyes and mind.Thank you.

not sure why you guys like trying to force things, i know Wade Maya has done well, but Lagos is still ranked as one the worst places to live in terms of air quality, life quality, and ranks amongst the lowest on every metric for urban cosmopolitan cities. It doesn't matter how many billionaire and millionaire estates it has, they all run on diel powered generators, traffic is a mess. But because nigerians don't want the truth and prefer to pretend like things are going well. you cant have Makoko and call a city beautiful.
