I liked the latch they had before as well. I think the reason they did it this way is because you make sure they are all in there correctly before it will latch. I've had problems in the past with me not making sure each one is locked in and I've had a couple fall off while driving. At least this way you can't lock it unless they are all latched in place.
I love my green touch racks. Mine faded but I didn't bother to take them up on the trade In for version 3 with the UV resistant paint....I just painted them Black instead.
The last version of green touch racks have the push up button for each trimmer. kinda odd they removed it for this newer version but i think it was for functionality to make it easier to remove. I have the last version of trimmer racks. Great racks
Hey Randy, Greetings from Germany! Just wanted to let you know that even across the big pond there is someone watching and appreciating your videos. Got a small part time business and bought my very first Walker mower this week. I'm absolutely blown away by the efficiency of this mower. Next step is going to be a nice new enclosed trailer, hopefully Green Touch will send me some of their racks when the times come, cause indeed we don't have anything comparable in Germany.
I love the lawn care community. All the work and effort all of you guys do and I see Top Notch and Southern Style commenting on your video. It's just great to see the support system! We are looking forward to the season it'll be our first legit! Wish us luck! I hope to meet some of you at the GIE this year.
I'm still here. KICKING Cancers ASS💪🏽🧔💚 IN FACT I installed the Ramp Rack last week and the Green Touch Trimmer Rack today. Found out the (Trimmer Head Support Arms) are too short☹️ Two inches shy of reaching the Trimmer Head. Fully Extended. Yes - The Shaft Brackets are all the way up. Hmmm... I'm gonna call Greentouch Monday. Need longer Support Arms so they'll reach midway of the head. Running All ECHO.
I'm a gt ambassador l had 2 equipment def pieces they did the same thing yours did so I bought 2 series 3 blower racks my trimmer racks faded so now there JD green the series 3 trimmer racks don't clip in like my series 2 do but they won't fade you will like gt👍😁
Wow! Didn't know that Green Touch had changed that on the trimmer racks. The 3 position trimmer rack I bought 2 years ago has the thumb release for each trimmer after you Turn the handle on top. I definitely like this setup better because of what you said about all of them falling out if your on a slope.
I found this channel a while ago because of your Pack'Em rack video, and you influenced me to buy those (and they worked great.) Although the greentouch racks don't exactly work for my setup, I appreciate your honest reviews!
Another great video bro... I love my green touch racks! I have the older gen that have the push up buttons for each trimmer so they don’t fall out once you unlock it from the top. Didn’t realize they got rid of that until I just saw yours! I’ve had mine thru two seasons with no issues! Oh and your video on the RBG 712 pushed me to finally buy that sharpener! Holy crap I could kick myself for not doing it sooner! By far the best blade sharpener ! Perfect edge and it was crazy to see how off my angle was when I sharpened them all for the first time .. anyways thanks again definitely a time saver!
You will definitely be satisfied with Green Touch Racks. As far as the trimmer racks we haven’t had any problems with the trimmers falling out. We used the new ones the whole season last year. They are also great with dealer support. God Bless you Randy
Good video and good decision brother. I have been running Green Touch racks V2 for a couple years, and now all new V3, and I have no complaints. Great product, great company, and great support.
Great video, we are supposed to get new racks for our trailer this year and are going with green touch. We are just on hold from buying anything until the apocalypse is over.
I love my GT Racks cause they are close to the wall. I had one of the eye holes off by 1/8" sent pic of it in and was sent a replacement of that side. I also have the ED back pack and its been working out quite well for myself though i do have it inside a enclosed trailer. Will be interesting to see how the GT back pack holds up outside by next yrs. Thank you . Good video like always!
I also love greentouch for the same reasons. I have the older yellow trimmer rack on the open trailer - and the first generation of the green ones on the enclosed. I hate the latest model latch system you mentioned, they should have never gotten rid of it, I'm thankful my sets still have the normal latches and is what's keeping me from buying their latest versions. They've made a few changes on their products over the yrs, some good and some bad but overall they're still the best out there. Love the channel keep it up
🤣 I been waitin on this story!! Thank you and I knew it wasn’t because of some drama lol thanks for sharing and not promoting something you don’t believe in . Later bro God bless stay safe
The v2 GT rack has defender style locks, i also don't like that v3 gt rack for the same reason, the eyelit for the trimmer head end of the trimmer on GT is a pain in the ass compared to the open end of the defender. GT v2 rack is also VERY rattely compared to defender rack, i think thats part of the change to the springload in v3
@@CountrysideStrong yeah they're not the locking style. If they can last that long thatll tell ya something. Id totally buy the newer style if we did more commercial sites.
Thorough review and explanation of the situation. I’ve started switching over piece by piece and have no complaints with GT. I’ve had a few issues with ED but not the rust problems . Both are good racks you just have to find out what works better for you. thanks again for your explanation
I have been beating my greantouch for years with 0 malfunctions. I will say that the greentouch will chip as well but it takes longer than a month. Not an ambassador here. GT Customer service is hands down best out there.
Hey Randy. Great content as always. I just bought a couple of version 3.1 blower racks and a version 3 trimmer rack at the end of November 2019 which i finally installed recently. Do you know when Green Touch switch to a different powder coating paint? I don't know if i should be concerned about the paint fading. Thanks for all you do for the lawn care community.
I did get some rust on the ones on the open, but on the enclosed obviously not. I just like the equipment defender style over green touch my personal opinion.
Aw damn it. I just put the Equipment Defender racks on my trailer last year. I haven't noticed any rust... yet. But by seeing yours it appears they put absolutely zero primer under that paint. These racks aren't cheap as you obviously know so it's disheartening to actually see shoddy craftsmanship. If Green Touch made them in black, with maybe a hint of green I would seriously think about switching, but man the green throws me off. Damn, I took up a lot of space to say nothing and have no point. Awesome and honest video. 👍👊💪
Thanks for the info on green touch, I still have time to consider them🤔 also what brand of fuel containers do you use? I’ve got some old school stuff and it’s getting hard to find spouts!! Big Sky Lawn
Just curious why ur buying stuff when u can build them and customize them to t Your exact needs, i have trimmer rack which also doubles as my multi step ladder rack on my truck and everone wishes they could find out where I got it from (turns out no company makes truck trimmer racks - only trailer trimmer racks), I dont dare tell my competitors that I build the stuff I would rather have them waste tons of money on medial small things like this so they have less for the big purchases but anyway, on a serious level i know u have a welder and building this stuff is actually very easy and only cost couple bucks I think I had less than 20.00 for all the steel needed and 7.00 worth of paint. If u know how to weld it is super cheap to build blower and trimmer racks. Fyi, fading issue, find out what type of paint they use weather its enamel, acrylic etc, its important because if you clear coat over them that will stop fading dead in its tax but u will need to know what they used so you can clear coat them with the same type of clear coat. I've been doing this with everything I build now and the items keep their shine minus any scratching etc. If u use the incorrect paint it will cause lifting spider cracking etc. As I know this from doing body work on vechicle in the past.
Everything rusts dude but how long is the key. Let than a year with THAT MUCH rust and chipping???? Hell no! That's a shit paint job without primer and poor prep work

No it's not worth it.
I'm not a huge fan of power coating. To many manufactures do not take the time to do a thorough prep before sending the product to power coating.
I've always liked it. 100x more durable than paint but like you said it all depends on the prep just like painting
