    I love this! At first I was like, well that's not very long to learn stuff, but after I watched it I realized it was perfect! I have a mild learning disorder, I think quickly but often don't retain things well or comprehend them enough to learn right away the first time. This is just enough but not too short to get the point and not long and drawn out so that people lose their attention like when I'm rambling on haha! I never understood chemistry in school but always found it interesting. Now that I'm older maybe I can with your videos!

    The particles in a solid DO move. They can vibrate where as liquid can vibrate and rotate and a gas can vibrate rotate and translate. The ONLY time when particles would be described as NOT moving is absolute zero (0 Kelvin) which Kelvin used extrapolation to find. It has not been proved to be real but all available data supports it. No hate whatsoever just wanted to put that out there.

    • @ProfessorDaveExplains
      @ProfessorDaveExplains  Před 7 lety +31

      yep, it's a bit of an oversimplification. better to let students learn about vibrational states later on and at first just say that they have no motion with respect to one another to get across the concept of lattice structure.
