I agree with you that he was a good reporter and anchor. I liked him on CBS news too....he is 91 years old, a beautiful age.....all the best for this man in the future from Fort Worth, Texas.

I started watching news at the same time he became the CBS anchor in 1981. I remember the TV week which I read religiously and he was on it. The hype was whether he could replace Cronkite and should Charles Kuralt and Bill Kurtis should have been the ones. He was consistent. I thought Frank Reynolds/ Peter Jennings was better. But watching those three of Tom, Peter and Dan made TV news better.
