drake is 21 years old, hes going to improve every aspect of his game from what we see now. the important thing is he has the tools, makeup and drive to be an elite qb in the nfl if he can put it together. it took josh allen years and i bet everyone here thought he couldnt play.

@@danielcahill5997The EDGE rushers are better than the OL in this generation. Tom Brady clones are not coming for a LOOOOONNGG time. In the moder era, u have to be able to move good when the OL inevitably loses to the DL.
My point is Brady didn’t overwhelm anyone physically… and still won… How? He could read a defense and was an accurate passer. Two things that Maye will have to improve on and that Mac Jones has at his strengths at a high level (but nobody can do that with a crappy o-line and average at best receivers. Maye might look like Josh Allen, a lot of guys come out of college physically gifted, but can’t put it all together in the pros. Time will tell….

You guys don't have a clue why this guy has unique ability. He has been scouted for years. He played for NC. Under constant pressure. Whatcha his tape. He carried his team. Let him compete in training camp. As coach Mayo said that don't have a starting QB right now. They will complete and the QB that gives the team the best chance to win will be the starter. It's up to Drake Maye. If he shows that he has learned and is the best. He will start.
It’s not Milton’s physical attributes that dropped him to a 6th round pick, it’s his inability to read defenses and process information.
Plus the short throws kill him. Milton's a backyard QB that can throw it 110 yards down the field accurately but has to learn how to dink and dunk. Maye is a more polished QB, younger, more room to grow, already knows how to process his reads, but his footwork is bad to where he trips into his own sack.
If Milton can work on his short to intermediate accuracy, plus clean up his footwork, Milton's arm is already elite year 1 in the NFL. If Maye can refine his footwork which can be coached out of him, Maye is the starter.
TE throw to 88 is over his shoulder hwere you would put it with a db on them... not underthrown
Apparently David Andrew’s first impression of Drake was that “he’s a big guy and tall.” Guy is built like a stud QB should be, hoping it translates in game whenever he starts
Expect a total revamp of Maye’s throwing motion, as it has a major “tell” before he throws, which will likely lead to a high number of interceptions, block passes, and defended catches. It’s also extremely slow of a release.

Patriots selected Drew Bledsoe #1 overall… was eventually beat out by 6th rounder who turned out to be the goat… that was about 28 of the last 32 seasons…. So, the analysis from the beginning is questionable… and you are crazy to think that Mac couldn’t easily throw a ball 35-40 yds on the money…. that’s just silly to say…
Brady will always be an anomaly, the best way to go is the physically gifted QB with favorable size and age (Maye.)
Also, Mac could throw the ball 35 to 40 yards but they were high arching / low velocity. And definitely looked much higher effort.
Mac jones had good accuracy but arm talent was very much something that he was never able to work on unfortunately. I hoped for a long time that he would improve his overall arm strength but it honestly never got better.

While Mac doesn’t have Elway zip on the ball he throws a very easy to catch ball. Russel Wilson won a Super Bowl as a third round pick. There are many ways to get to a Super Bowl and win it. The best chance is to have a solid roster. Pats missed a big opportunity letting Mac go (on a rookie deal still) and not cashing in that #3 pick for a few firsts to get some much needed talent on the roster.

@@obamacare4811 Well, we were talking about qualities people look for in a quarterback. He mentioned height, arm strength, speed. My point was Brady showed everyone those traits aren’t everything. Being able to read a defense and throw accurately ARE the most important traits. Those were Mac’s strengths. Maye needs improvement in both areas. Time will tell. Certainly Brady winning 7 chips is an anomaly. I’m aware.

It's INSANE that a third overall pick winds up like he's throwing a javelin. His throws fly slow and he's generally behind the receiver. I get that he has room for improvement but we need him to improve his throwing speed, velocity, processing, accuracy, and footwork. All while apparently maintaining whatever talent he supposedly had.

most of the things you listed could just be summed up as improving his mechanics, and the others our either wrong or inaccurate. firstly he has great ball velocity and threw over 50mph in multiple games last season. while his processing isn’t perfect, he was on an awful unc team last year with an below average line and pass catchers that couldn’t catch.
You obviously haven't been listening to local sports podcasts. The staff has him doing everything half speed. They are working on his mechanics from the ground up and that means repetition half speed until it's where it's consistent then full speed. Go to local sports sites and hear it from the reporters covering the team.
