- How to make a silicone mask! I've been making these masks for a while now so I thought I'd make a tutorial showing how these masks can be made from home. Please ensure to use all protective equipment when working with chemicals like resin.

This is an old video; lots of old and incorrect techniques. Although this is fine for experimenting at home, I will make more videos on how this can be done more successfully now that I have gained experience. Thank you everyone for watching the video..

You drill small holes on the mold so that the air escapes and let the silicone take its place thanks to this technique you will not have a hole in your mask ... then tap the mold and make small movements to correctly escape the mask. area that could be lodged ... fill the holes with plastiline that you will judge that the silicone will have taken the place of the air ☺️ make about 6 or even 10 small holes in each on each back / front face of about 1 centimeter 👍 immortal mask does this technique .. then correct the details with silicone 😊👋 if you need advice don't hesitate! I am French but we can all the same exchange as soon as possible, otherwise it's a pity it's wonderful what you did! ♥️

Tu peux percer des petit trous sur le moule pour que l’aire s’échappe et laisse le silicone prendre sa place grâce à cette technique tu aura pas de troue dans ton masque … ensuite tape le moule et fait des petit mouvement pour correctement échapper l’aire qui pourrait se loger … rebouche les troue avec de la plastiline qu’en tu jugera que le silicone aura bien pris la place de l’air ☺️ fait environ 6 voir 10 petit troue de chaque sur chaque face arrière/avant de environ 1 centimètres 👍 immortal mask fait cette technique.. ensuite corrige avec du silicone les détails 😊👋 si tu a besoin de conseil hésite pas ! i want to try to make a freddy krueger silicone mask but i dont really know how to make it actually look like freddy krueger. I thought it would be a good idea to get info from someone who is not new to mask making before doing it myself
Thanks for making a great video on silicone mask making. Question ... if I have a latex mask that I already made and want to make a silicone mask from it, is there a seperating agent I can use to keep the latex from sticking to the silicone?

Latex wont stick to the silicone, but it does inhibit the curing of silicone which would probably ruin your latex mask in the process
Might I ask, how much Easyflo 120 did you go through, for this one mold?
I have several full head sculpts waiting to be molded, and after seeing this, I'm seriously considering going this route.

Did you add the pvc pipe before starting the back cast or after the resin was already on the back of the head?

You might have answered this elsewhere but, what do you use for your head form to mould on top of?
Also, with such large features, wouldn't it be loose on the head afterwards?

If I wanted to add horns, do I make the horns out of silicone or I have glue foam horns on
You need to sculpt spots for them to place them in, but ultimately, yes, afterward, you'd glue them on.
Did you use a plastic cast head or one that was shape of your head?

How did you dry the clay
What do you mean? I used Chavant clay for the sculpture which doesn’t dry as it’s an oil based clay. I used WED clay for the clay wall :)

Puppet Person ah, that’s just because I did a new mould on a Neils silicone mask core. I originally sculpted it on a Monster Makers core which is not suitable for silicone masks. I just got a positive cast and re moulded it on the Neils core. 😄

Is that resin exothermic? I don't know if it would melt my monster clay positives or not :-/
Kittywampus Drums it is yes, I recently molded a zombie mask that was sculpted with monster clay and it worked fine! I’ll upload a video on that one soon as I recorded some of it.
