Parra tenía una perra. Guerra tenía una parra

Translation to English:
Parra had a (female) dog. Guerra had a vine.

I thought the same till I reaaaaally tried and made it finally with that video. I watched 20 videos and used all together. That video helped me being a respected gringo around my latinas and I LOVE IT!

I did it! I could do the normal 'r', but once she said "blow air" at the same tongue position, it came out naturally like a motor.

I never had a problem rolling my “r”. The trick is the position of the tongue. However, certain words like “barrio” are a little difficult because the accent is on the first syllable but if it were on the one just after the “rr” instead for some reason it makes rolling the “r” much easier. I don’t know why. Anyway, I have practiced that word and now it is not a problem. If I have a problem with Spanish pronunciation it is always to remember to pronounce the Spanish “v” correctly. I know it should never sound like English “v” yet that is what I hear a lot from native speakers. I have been practicing that for a while now.
Ok so I couldn’t do it at first but I really watched the video over and over and I kept trying and then I got the first little bit so I just kept doing that to progress while also focusing on what I do. It works guys lol it takes practice and patience

Be careful with the dizziness, when you master it you won't get dizzy doing it 💪🏼💪🏼 I'm sure you'll get the RR very soon :D have a nice day!

I think the difficult part that a lot of the teachers don't properly explain is how are they blowing out of the mouth. Are you blowing off the side of your mouth? Are you using your teeth as part of the process of blowing? Are you clinching your teeth at any part of your mouth?

In Dutch, we have the exact same 'r' in the northern provinces above the great rivers! People from Brabant and Limburg will struggle though :)

Your tongue seems to be displaced to your left side of the mouth if you take a look at yourself when you make the sound of "RR," which I do as well.
Are you able to say "IRREGULAR" quickly? For me I tend to say "I" then *break* then "RREGULAR." I can't seem to say "IRREGULAR" at a fast pace. Otherwise, I say "I-E-RREGULAR" to say it quickly. Anyone else having the same problem as I do?

Great! I'll reveal to you a secret: some Spanish people are unable to pronounce the double R in the Spanish way, so they pronounce it in the French way (with the back of the tongue), which is weird and funny to say the least :) When I was a child we used to ask them to say that: "Parra tenía una perra. Guerra tenía una parra. La perra de Parra subió a la parra de Guerra. Guerra pegó con la porra a la perra de Parra".

I have heard that many people in Costa Rica do not tool their “r” either. Why I do not know.
In some places (Costa Rica, Cuba, Bad Bunny 😀) some people pronounce "R" as "L": for example, "pol favol" instead "por favor" (please) ...

ive heard there's a genetic component to trilling rs? never been able to... ive tried some of these tricks before and felt like i almost had it

There's a genetic component to looping your tongue like I do in the warm up, but not for rolling Rs 😄🙌🏼 There is some people with "tongue tie" who cannot pronounce words normally, but if you can pronounce "butter", sure you won't have problems to trilling the RRs soon 👏🏼👏🏼
@@holamydailyspanish yes! Rolling your tongue like that is genetic, and some of us cannot do it. I cannot do it. But I can roll my R’s perfectly well. I tell people to make a cat purring sound. Most people can do that. 😊

I can do it but I think the roll sound is coming from my throat. I feel the vibration in my throat and my tongue. Is that correct?
I don't feel the vibration in my throat, just in the palate (roof of the mouth) and the tip of the tongue. Try to get the vibration there, I hope you don't hurt your throat :O
I would say that words with the R's in the middle are more difficult.

My tongue doesn’t go to the back when I use English Rs so I don’t think I’m putting my tongue in the right position when I say “butter.” Any advice?
In Spanish the tongue doesn't go to the back, so it shouldn't be a problem 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Try pronouncing "drama" and the other exercises, the "butter" one might also help you if you don't roll your R to the back 👍🏼👍🏼

It’s rlly not a “skill” bc I have a rlly rectangle shaped tongue so the air can’t come out normally is it just me?
I can roll, fold, and switch my tongue over. I can even replicate birdsong and create inaudible dog whistles with my tongue on the roof of my mouth. I just can't roll my R, and it is really infuriating!

Did you know that looping your tongue is not possible with everyone. Its a genetic thing. I forget the percentage, but its true. As for rolling your Rs everyone should be able too. I never could, and I cant roll my tongue. Not sure if its related, but I will sure try!

Im physically not able to, both of my parents from Mexico BOTH of my siblings can do it WHY TF CANT I I’m going insane having breakdowns over this. I’m just NOT able to I’m over it. Im pretty sure everyone in my family but me can do it. I feel like an outcast I hate my imperfections so much

When I learned that it did not have “cargados de azúcar” in it and I have also heard some other variation that is different from the way I learned it back in the early 60s.
