    I got cut off at the end. Catch Part 2 here: czcams.com/video/cCk6WqFlgiY/video.html I wanted to add that I kept repeating the tongue twister over and over as I walked home and suddenly I got it. You can also practice with Betty, butter, burro. Or butter, butter, butter over and over again as fast as you can. I think I did a mix of the tongue twister and butter when I was practicing all those years ago.

      So, I just attempted this as a non-native speaker. If I press my lips together, I'm not able to do it. Your jaw has to be slightly dropped in order for your tongue to lift up and trill. So your lips can be closed as long as your jaw is slightly dropped, you can still do it. I don't think it's about native vs non native. It's about the placement of your mouth and tongue.

    • @skillabration-school
      @skillabration-school  Před 5 měsíci

      Not every word requires a trill. I’m not 100% what you mean by transitioning from dr, tr, to r. If there is an R in the beginning of a word, you and roll the R. If it’s in a word like caro (expensive), you don’t hear the trill as much. You hear it more in carro (car). When you pronounce caro just ensure the tip of your tongue is behind your two front teeth in the same position as the T when you say “pot of tea”.

    I think I can roll my r’s but I can’t put it into a sentence without slowing down very confusing still great teach though!😊

      Practice makes perfect. Also, not every R needs to be rolled. You have a stronger trill at the beginning and end of words, or a double R in the middle of a word. Don’t give up!

    Help when I say tardes my r vibrates really hard it's like am saying ta-rrr-des it kinda sounds weird how is it normal like that or I have some speech impediment

    • @skillabration-school
      @skillabration-school  Před rokem +1

      You don’t have to roll your R with tardes. Not every R is supposed to be rolled. Double R’s, like perro, burro, corre, are rolled. R’s at the beginning or end of a word can be rolled. A single R in the middle of a word isn’t rolled, but the tongue is still in the same position as explained in the video. If you just say Tar over and over you’ll notice your tongue start to vibrate a bit if you say it SUPER fast. But you don’t need to roll it for tardes.

    Idk if I’m actually rolling it but definitely making that sound more in my throat than on my tongue

    • @skillabration-school
      @skillabration-school  Před rokem

      If it’s in your throat, you need to switch the position of your tongue. Drop your jaw a bit, re-listen to the steps in the video.
