Very hard to Spanish speakers to lose their accents unless they grew up in an English-speaking country. The same can be said for Americans in other languages.

Colombia and Guatemala are very different...many parts of Guatemala don't even speak Spanish but an indigenous (Mayan/Aztec) language. Guatemala is 85% indigenous/Mestizo while Colombia (similar to Brazil and Venezuela) is 40% white (European/Arab), 10% black/African, 40% Mestizo (white/indigenous mix) and 3% indigenous (Amerindian).
