This is obviously sad news, but I know we will meet again. Being a fan of this band for the last 11 years has been such a special time. I’ve seen you 37 times since then, and they have all been spiritual and magical experiences. I’ve met amazing people because of this band…wonderful, beautiful people including my friends Shelly, Mark, Alexis, Savannah, and so many more. Every one of your albums was released at a pivotal moment in my life. TIH came out the week I started my first real adult big boy job. WIN came out as I entered another big chapter of my life. And Heights came out as my career transitioned to her another new phase. These songs and shows have meant the absolute world to me and I will never forget.
Every time you stepped on that stage, everything changed for us. Every time Eli recognized us in the crowd and a huge smile came over his face. Every time we screamed “We got no money but we got heart” together.

My husband and I fell in love to your music starting in 2012. We have gone to every concert in Nashville and Atlanta. In February of 2022 we got married and shared our first dance to Aquaman. You taught us to go head first and no regrets. You have changed our lives for the better and I will be forever thankful.
Every show I have been to has been a space full of love and acceptance. Thank you to the band and everyone behind the scenes for creating that space! We will miss you as you go on this break, but rest is so incredibly important. You all rock!! 🫶

I am a touring truck driver. Ive never worked your tours, but it shows that you truly care about each member of your crew. I had the fortune of seeing you in Denver in 2018 and was hooked. Honestly, I'm so happy you have all decided it is time to focus on other things. growth is part of life, I'm just grateful for the shows I was able to make and all the memories I have! I couldn't have asked for a better band to come into my life for when it did. I was in middle school when shut up and dance came out and listening to their other songs gave me such good messages to live by. It made me into a better person by giving me advice to grow up throughout middle school, high school, and now into my last few years of college. I don't think I'd be the same person without them. I'm sad that I wasn't able to ever see them live, but I'm glad that I got to listen to their songs.
Haven’t had a chance to meet you guys in concert, but still looking forward to seeing WALK THE MOON someday.❤ Your music is love that you send to people. I can always feel genuine energy and love from your works. We will miss you guys, and your music will never die!

I first discovered WALK THE MOON when you guys performed in Houston for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, and quickly fell in love with the band’s repertoire. Some of my FAVORITE concert experiences have been yours!! This hurts my heart so much but I completely understand your decision. I was at the Columbus show the day the supreme court decision of Obergefell v Hodges came out. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE ENERGY that concert had. Different Colors 🌈! My other favorite concert was in London in a small venue in Soho with Hippocampus opening. So intimate and unique. I got to meet Sean outside afterwards! Kindest person ❤. I haven’t seen yall in a few years- I was hoping for an Ohio concert soon 😢 Maybe I’ll be able to watch the live stream!! 🎉

walk the moon was my very first favorite band over ten years ago. your music has been so important to my life, love, sexuality, and identity. your 10th anniversary show in boston this past fall was one of the best concert experiences of my life. thank you for everything and all the music 💕

It's going to be a weird and hard transition, but you came to this decision for a reason. You know how best the creative and spiritual process works, growth comes from stillness and reflection.
I like the word hibernation. You will always have the spirit of WTM in you but sometimes that preconceived vision of what WTM is can hold you back from your individual ventures.
I LOVE YA'LL and wish you the best and most creative hibernation ever! I'm so glad I got to see you live in concert many years ago, and I hope to see you live in thefuturee, you have a special place in my heart!

OMG- crying- My two fav bands stopping touring at the same time is truly heartbreaking for me. Thank you for EVERYTHING WTM!!!!! I remember first hearing you at NBT 2015 in Tampa. You opened with the Lion King intro and I was immediately hooked. Your act was so good that I ordered a Talking is Hard album from the middle of the pit that I was squeezed into. From that point on I've had nothing but love for you guys. You've gotten me through some of the best and worst of times and I am forever grateful.

Hey man, I’ll never forget the first time I heard SUandD. I was sitting in the lobby of my apartment complex at the time (summer 2015) and while I was studying it came on. I remember pausing and thinking, wow, this is awesome! Played it over another 10 times, told my wife about it, told my co-workers about it, played the chord progression over and over on piano… That music video and song will now always bring me back to that happy point. And so will all the other WTM’s songs.
I fully support doing what’s best for you and the other members. Keep it up and all the best from SoCal my friend!

Ohhh this is sad to hear. I remember seeing y'all in Cologne in 2018 and it was such an amazing concert. It was such a lovely experience, you're able to create so much joy with your music. First time I heard your music was at The Fillmore SF when you opened for Young The Giant..never heard a song of yours before and yet I felt like you guys commanded the stage and made us have so much fun even with songs we heard for the first time. I'll always remember how much fun that was.

While this makes me sad to hear I completely understand. Your music has helped me through some tough times. Your streamed concert helped me when I was very injured from a horse riding accident. It was the highlight of that time for me and I’ll never forget it. I will never forget, buying the tickets immedietely on sale, to go see you with my then partner. We had originally bonded over Walk the Moon back in highschool and it was the most serene moment I have experienced getting to dance with them to Aquaman next to the barricade and hold someone I cared about so much to music that had affected me so much. I've spent a lot of summer drives blasting self-titled, talking is hard, and What if nothing. Even going so far back as to play the songs Nick wrote The other side: b-sides and rarities. Thank you for affecting my life with great music, and great vibes the whole time.

My name is Jon Osborn. I am from Columbus, Ohio. I can't remember too many bands that came from Ohio that hit the big time. There are a FEW. Only a few. Walk The Moon is one of them now. I am a older man that goes back a ways. I love the sound of this band. Don't give up guys. Keep playing. Shut Up & Dance sounds like a sixties tune. That is not an easy feat. I was a dancer on Broadway long ago and know GOOD music. You guys are very good. Take care and thank you for the music.

I heard "Anna Sun" for the first time while working at Old Navy back in 2016/2017. Ever since I ran back there to see who it was playing over the radio, I've been a huge fan. That album became my summer anthem, and I go back to it and your other music over and over. Thank you for creating beautiful music 🎶

I first discovered this band back in early 2014. I was watching a livestream and the streamer put on Anna Sun, but the audio was so quiet I could barely hear it. For some reason the name the streamer mentioned stuck in my head and I looked up the song the next day and just fell in love with this band. I was 12 at the time, in middle school and going through a very rough period in my life like many people at that confusing age. I don't know what it was about your music but it immediately gave me such an incredible sense of comfort and joy during a time where I really needed it. You guys only had one album out at the time but I remember just listening to it on repeat all the time. It was the first album I ever bought, and you were the first band I ever grew attached to. Over the years I've been able to see this band in concert three times and met you guys once at a private concert for a local radio station, and I will never forget the pure joy I felt during each of those occasions, and the love and kindness that just seemed to radiate from you guys when I met you. From coping with the loss of my dad at a young age, struggling immensely with social situations, not ever really feeling like I had a place in this world, listening to this band's music has always granted me such a feeling of serenity during the times I've needed it the most for nine years now. As I've grown older my music tastes have grown and expanded to more artists of course, but having an old Walk the Moon song unexpectedly pop up when listening to music on shuffle still gives me a feeling of comfort and nostalgia that no other music does for me, and I still go back to your music when I'm having a rough day. It is crazy to think that a band I discovered back in middle school is one that has continued to bring me joy even today, after I've graduated college and begun my adult life. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. You guys deserve the rest, and I hope this hibernation brings great things your way

I saw you guys many times. The funniest time was in Oakland (Not so Silent Night). I flew to LA the next day to watch another festival style show and there in the Marriot checking in to the hotel -- Walk the Moon WEARNING THE SAME OUTFITS they wore on stage at Oakland. You guys looked tired. I did not think you wanted a 50 year old guy walk over and say "Gosh, guys I love you stuff." BTW: I was at Spiral (top restaurant in in Manila). The string quartet played, "Shut up and Dance" (yes, for strings). During break, I asked if they knew 'Anna Sun." They did not!!!!!

I went to your CZcams channel to see if there was any new music then I see this video.... It's so sad 😔 but all of us fans respect your choice. I'm really glad I got to know you even though I never got to go to one of your concerts. I remember when I was smaller my brother discovered a song on the radio and made me listen to it and I just loved it and a few years later when I was watching School of Rock on TV I heard this music again in this series and I found the music on the internet, it was Shut up and Dance. Since then Walk the Moon has become my favourite band and both my brother and my mother listen to your music.

The first show I’ve seen with you all was in 2012 in providence for the wbru free summer series. That performance marked the change in my musical perspective.
You have been an inspiration and a hope in the middle of the darkest times. When what if nothing came out I was in a dark place and hearing press restart for the first time brought me chills.

The first time I saw Walk the Moon, I was blown away - it was easily one of the best shows I've ever seen, right up there with to Bruce Springsteen. I knew I really liked your music, but the energy and authenticity and connection you bring onto a stage are incredible to me as a fan and inspiring as a musician. I'm glad I've been able to see you a few other times since, I'll keep enjoying your music, and if and when Walk the Moon does return to recording and touring, I'll be there. No way, I was crying while watching this video 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I can't believe the group is disbanding, the first song I listened to you guys was "Shut up and Dance with Me" and that started my liking for the band and I listened to some/most of your songs feel like I should have listened to em all. Now I am haha. Anyways, enough of me ranting, yes thank you so very much to the band and everyone behind the scenes. Imma miss you guys, saddens my heart to say that
I *just* found out about this band this week! 😅 The way Nicholas talks here sounds so sweet. I don’t know how to describe it, but listening to this clip calms me down somehow. And it looks like he’s smiling with his whole face-wow. This clip is one of the most beautiful videos I recall watching.

I came across your music about 7 years ago and since then you have been a constant in my life and have helped me get through some dark times. I hope the break (and individual projects) give your creative sides challenges and growth that you wouldn't have had within Walk the Moon. Hopefully one day when you all feel the time is right, hibernation will be over and I for one, will be here waiting to see how that growth will have enriched Walk the Moon.

I'm 62 years old, and a few years ago, my daughter let me come to one of your concerts with her. That was it; I became a huge fan and wished I could bounce around the stage like you do. I have seen you twice since then and was just thinking it was time to see you guys again, so this news makes me sad.
That said, I totally get that you need a break, and I hope you are each able to get out of it what you need.
