Music video by WALK THE MOON performing Burning Down The House. (C) 2013 RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment - Hudba
This is probably one of the better covers I've heard, being that it's live is even more impressive. They stayed true to the song when so many don't in covers. I'd like to hear them cut it in the studio.
Damn, this was a surprisingly good cover.
This seems to be one of the hardest Heads songs to cover well. Most bands don’t seem to get it. This is good.
Now this is what a cover is suppose to be. A lot of the original and just throwing in a bit of your own stuff. Fucking brilliant
Woww...I was just saying how these guys have this neo 80's pop feel.
Than they do this awesome cover of burning down the house .
I'm digging this ...
Reggie B i guess they do what feels right.
this suits them perfectly in my mind.
.....
how does charlie puth + walk the moon sound?
Reggie B lol thats pretty cool XD i was listening to shut up and dance and it reminded me of the music of the 90s that i like XD its kinda neat that they can remind us of different things like that :). I was a big fan of the goo goo dolls and matchbox and stuff like that when i was a kid XD

I was real into Rage Against The Machine and Limp Bizkit than I got into Linkin Park & p.o.d. .
It's funny before any of these groups did any crossover hip hop & rock medleys , I use to bump them next to NWA, WuTang, 2Pac, DMX, Ruff Ryders and the Lox's .
+Reggie B I thought the same thing.
When Talking Heads performed this song live for Stop Making Sense, there are three people playing keys/synth - Nick does it all by himself here AND sings AND plays percussion; TH had a nine-piece band! I think it's a great cover and a nice tribute from a band who are obviously big fans (they've also covered Naive Melody many times). Why so much hate?
best cover of this song I've heard
One of the most underexposed bands right now. I blast these guys to all my friends. SO READY for the Gospel tour w/P!ATD.
Only feeling I got from PATD was Ryan Ross was missing in action despite playing all his songs.
Got the chance to see them in August on the Gospel Tour, IMO completely stole the show (was already a fan before seeing them, but their live show further solidified that for me). Got lucky enough to pick up VIP tix for their upcoming headline run. SUPER stoked to get to see them live again. Easily one of the best known unknown bands out there. If the album versions don't do it for people, a live show certainly will.
I've never heard him sing like that. That was awesome!
Neither have I, though I don't know who any of these people are.
I love this band. They don't get enough credit it's amazing they can do this stuff live.
Now this is how you do a cover
I love this band so much, its honestly heart breaking to know that they don't have the big fan base they deserve.
I kind of don't want them to tho bc then merch and concert tickets will get more expensive. 😂 I saw them live last month and this was before shut up and dance was popular. Now all that's anyone ever talks about. I used to love being able to enjoy it by myself 😂 oh well they deserve it
I
Kalysta Jeffrey well now they are really getting famous with shut up and dance
Give them time, they are getting the job! Most musicians are rude, arrogant, self centered, or flakey. The world doesn’t need another plastic Diva ! This band emits a positive attitude. Which is very rare nowadays. Taylor Swift has new company in the nice and likable musician club.
@samanthamcguire5585 Ticket master is dying
Saw them live in Albuquerque (it was their first time) on May 6th and it was insanely awesome. The energy in their performance and music is epic. Im pretty sure I cried at some point during the show.
I know this is a little different than their usual sound, but they should produce originals with this kind of vibe. Nick has an incredible power behind his voice that we never get to hear the full extent of. The band as a whole is underrated, but he's even more so as a vocalist. Someone with as much range, clarity and strength as he has in his voice is extremely rare
nick is a vocal powerhouse
This shows their true potential. This band should try some heavier and darker stuff. He's got the voice.
def
Check out their new song, Headphones. It's definitely heavier.
And pretty cool.
I saw them with live on the gospel tour and they are soooo amazing live. I got so many incredible feelings watching them.
That was flippin amazing.
Still amazing four decades on: ALL HAIL TALKING HEADS!!!
Ace cover. You guys killed it. Fantastic video and audio production too.
jesus these are amazing vocals. is he really singing like this live?
That's one of my favorite things about them- they actually sound better live than on the albums. That's genuine talent
+nuncaleite The best part is how he's just belting them out.
+nuncaleite yep... i'd say it was near the end of their set.... so his voice was nice and warmed up to tear up this song... :) :PP
+nuncaleite I think so! He's phenomenal.
Yes! They are one of the best bands to see live. They entertain so well. Even people who don’t like them agree with that.
A UnFking believable performance! This is one of my favorite videos - already listened 6 times in a row. Nick's vocals are off the charts as are the other band members and amazing how in sync they are, truly gifted musicians.
Watch out, you might get what you're after
Cool babies, strange but not a stranger
I'm an ordinary guy
Burning down the house
Hold tight, wait 'till the party's over
Hold tight, we're in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Burning down the house
Here's your ticket, pack your bags, time for jumpin' overboard
Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect staring into the TV set
Fighting fire with fire
All wet, hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown, dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hundred sixty five degrees
Burning down the house
Burning down the house
My house is out of the ordinary
That's right, don't want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Burning down the house
It was once upon a place, sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work said, "Baby what did you except?"
Gonna burst into flame, go ahead
Burning down the house
Burning down the house
This Crowd is so Laid back and Chilled .. If It was me and my Friends We would Be Going Crazy
now this is what I like to see, an actual band, these guys have got it! I'm in love :D
Somewhere, David Byrne is smiling.
No, if he saw this he would probably be extremely uncomfortable
Holy Shit! I'm an Aussie... and that is THE best cover!
Without question the best version of this song in existence.
I saw then last night in Columbus with Panic! At The Disco and Magic Man! OMG best concert ever!
awesome! Right back in the 80's..
The lead singer has like three different voices O_O
His voice is... Magical
Surprisingly good! Not many covers are able to meet David Byrne's aggressive and spunky energy, and while I prefer the original, this is a really excellent alternative.
Best cover so far !
OMG!..I don´t say this too often. Absolutelly love this fresh cover with many energy from classics Talking Heads.
I cant stop staring and listening!
Awesome version by Walk The Moon!
No, jethkira, you're good. If anyone ever gets the chance to see these guys live, do it! Sooo much energy and great music!
Y'all did this song justice and then some!
holy crap this was FANTASTIC. I never thought a cover could be THIS good!!
Art vs science does a amazing cover of enter sandman by Metallica
nick's vocals are so perfect
They're fantastic- as you can tell from this video. I had the pleasure of seeing them open for Young The Giant last winter and they were wonderful.
I saw them on October 18th, their biggest show ever, and JFC THE ENERGY! IT WAS SO AMAZING AND I MET MATT AND PERFECT NIGHT!
So insanely excited to see them in Portland!
I found myself in there!!! It was a fantastic night:)
Great cover, props!
God I love Walk the Moon and The Talking Heads. Proud to be from Ohio because of them
Tess Howdieshell Where in Ohio are they from?
Somewhere in Cincinnati.
dbillau Somewhere in Cincinnati
HOLY SHIT THIS IS A GOOD COVER!! GODDAMN
The crowd seems like they've been sedated! If I were there, I would be jumping all over the place - and I'm over 50!!
I genuinely think this is better than the Talking Heads original, and that one's a fuckin' banger.
Well done, son. You do the song justice.
I just watched Walk the Moon cover Talking Heads on Christmas morning- Christmas is off to a great start! I'm sure Stop Making Sense will be the music over board games with my family later (it usually is), and I'm looking forward to seeing Walk the Moon in DC soon!
That a seriously good cover. The singer really showed his worth there.
Thank you NeonGoldRecords !
can't wait for the next Album.
holy shit, I'm in awe, The Talking Heads should be touched by this rendition
he rocks it--you go Nick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how Nick gets so into it
I just fell in love with this song
Loved it! A favorite song covered perfectly!
Luv this group! Hopefully, I'll see you at an airport nearby!
lol. How many teens have any idea this song is - good lord - 36 years old?
lol so true.. 38 here ;)
14 here. I've know this song since I was young (dad was a big fan). You'd be surprised how many people keep a collection of CD's to share with their kids. I mean who wouldn't want to share this music?
I'm 16 and I know this song well. WTM does it better in my opinion, but that's just me.
I'm not really a teen... I'm 20... But I also grew up listening to the Talking Heads. My dad was and still is a big fan. But you'd be surprised by how much some teens know about music, especially considering that the 80's sound has seen a revival in the alternative music scene. Lots of bands today are influenced by that era of music and by extension lots of younger music listeners are now aware of bands like Talking Heads, etc.
Please use grammar next time you decide to speak.
Saw these guys as a warm-up for Fun. last autumn and they were better than the headliners... if they come back to the UK in the next couple of years, tickets are mine
LOVE Walk the Moon -- and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cover! They're going for broke here and it's great!
I love them ..... jesus
Can't stop listening to this cover! 😝
i love it
give me more
such a beautiful voices OMGGG
Shoutout to homegirl @1:00 for being the only person who knows the lyrics in the audience
🔥🌪
One of those bands that really leaves you wondering why their not more famous.
Reminds 80s, 90s songs ,great!
I met these guys a few months ago in a pub in Bristol two hours prior to the gig. I was expecting them to be crazy, but in all honesty, they were ridiculously shy! The only one that seemed even slightly confident was Kevin! Nick even asked ME for a hug just incase I felt too awkward. They sat at the table next to us, and even looked out for us outside and inside the gig. But then you watch them on stage, and they're all so vibrant and sexy, and I just don't get how it can be the same people!!!
in a weird way, i wish walk the moon made this song xD so they could release it for their 3rd studio album ;) it fits them so perfectly! but of course all respect to talking heads
I wish i was there.
Amazing! Can't wait to hear it live again! Come back to Switzerland!
