- In this video I will show you my new motorcycle, a 2023 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, and share my honest owners first impressions of this motorcycle.
We will discuss why I went from a Honda Africa Twin, to a KTM 890 Adventure, and now to this Triumph. Spoiler alert, I really think I found the sweet spot for an all around great ADV Motorcycle.

Congrats on the Tiger it has peaked my interest for a while now, looking forward to more videos, enjoy.
Good video, clever idea to include looking back at your tracks. It really did track very straight in that nasty mud which means the TC must work well.

I test rode every Middle Weight ADV over the last couple of years and the Tiger 900 was probably the prettiest and best total package. I couldn't stomach the price, but if I had unlimited cash I probably would have gone that route.
It's amazing how far the stock tyres will take you as long as its dry, don't bother in the wet!
I've had mine for over a year now and love it, does everything well, you just have to understand it's not a race enduro bike. I'm getting older coming off yami 450 :)

I know exactly what you mean about throwing your leg over. I looked at a tracer 9gt, gs850, and a shipper tenere 1200.
I visited the triumph dealer, threw my leg over a demo, and fell in love. It’s comfortable. It’s capable. It’s beautiful.

I’m 5’7” my 900 RP with the Low ride seat will seriously make your knees cry. As they did on my trip from Tallahassee, to Covington, TN. That little inch or so makes hella difference. Using the Outback Motortech crash bars have proven themselves worthy and then some. My tiger has the dyno jet, K&N, Akro slip on. And OMG, night and day difference!! She will stay neck and neck with a stock GSXR to 100MPH. Would stay better maybe except the Motoz tractionater tires (Q) get super weavy at over 100, hypothetically. I love the living Shit out of this ride. I’ve had mine a year and been to TN once. And the glades in S FL twice. She did awesome!! This bike is like the best of all worlds!! Just a tip, swap those factory “Fark busters” asap! If you drop her, the clutch and brake levers have those dimples or break points and the factory hand gaurds or more like wind guards lol. Will collapse in and those lever ends will snap clean off. Either way this ride is stupid awesome!!!! This bike will straight up wheelie upon throttle after sue was tuned. 1st gear all day long, 2nd gear will on a hard launch and only a few inches under hard acceleration. This bike is so much damn fun!! Please note that if you don’t have the electric controlled front and rear suspension, the valve screws on top of each Showa shock will have a “C” or an “R” on them. Don’t so what I did and back them off equally and then realize that you have for sure made your shocks begin again lol. Enjoy! Also I’ve been riding since 1982! And I still go hard! For triumph; please create a map where I don’t have to fully stop to switch to “Off Road” mode.
One more note for Triumph; why the governor at 128?? 😢😢😢 she has so much more left in her. Sport bike on a fort bike chassis. Made for young and old.
Definitely look at the black dog cycleworks footpegs, they helped me out a ton. I'm 5'8 with a roughly 30 inch inseam that extra 3/8ths of an inch helps open you out just enough to get comfy with the low seat
I share your impression of the tires. Was scratching my head about them when I bought the bike.
Nice, very nice! I have the Tiger 800 XRx, and love it. However, when I took it in for some warranty work, the dealer let me loose on a brand new 2023 Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, and was just a DREAM, really didn't want to get off it! Compared to my 800, the comfort and ergonomics were in a different world. And that T-Plane crank engine note, oh yes! Seriously considering the 900 for next year, although my misses may well go nuclear if I do- she hates motorcycles as it is 😞
Congrats on the new bike. I have been stuck in the same conundrum. Looking at the ATAS vs 890 vs Tiger. Currently have CRF 300. My choice keeps coming back to the Tiger. Use it for comfort on the long hauls, do more easy, less technical off- roading, use the CRF for the scetch stuff. Im 5-8 160, just wondering if I should be even looking at these heavier, bigger bikes! Enjoy your videos and looking forward to more tiger content!

I am 5'8 and pushing 170 and I have no issues with the 900 RP. TBH, once I got used to it, feel like it is a better fit for me than many of my other bikes. Do it!

How top-heavy does she feel relative to the KTM 890 and much harder to pick up alone in heavy terrain? Short-legged rider asking with best regards.
I believe the electronics/switchgear/rider aids are also easier to navigate on the Triumph than the Africa Twin? What's your take on that?

I love them on bigger adv bikes, but not smaller dual sports.
Did you go with the AT41 or AX41?
How are the sides of your Knees ???? Some who review this bike make metion that the plastic edges along the bottom edge of the Tank cut into their Knees....... Why did you Dump the A T if you loved it so ? That too is on my Test ride list........ Great Video Keep it up
Where did the KTM end up?

Played around with the front preload yet? Or just riding it on factory suspension settings?

800 is nothing tô do with 900
Don’t forget to change the front preload to the “off-road” position to rake the bike out to help you in that sand. Triumph also recommends dumping the rear preload off-road (assuming you have no luggage). I had a newer Triumph, and bought a few triumph parts for it.
If you think BMW parts are pricey? Try Triumph on for size. 340.00 for a centerstand, made in Thailand, that never fit right.

I have an 890R now, and with a very few changes it can be a really nice touring street/dirt bike.

rally pro, also ready has just about everything on it. I did upgrade the protection though

@@adventureundone ApriliaTuareg 660 then!? Then there is the Honda Transalp 750, announced coming to the US as a 2024 model, so next November, 2023. But, seems no tubeless, tyres, no cruise control. Only bikes I can think of, which fit your riding needs. Cheers!
Hi! I waited a week for your next video, and I never imagined your traded yourn ATAS for a KTM and now for a TTiger. But well, as I usually say, there is a bike for everyone. Definitely this one isn't mine. There are a lots of things I agree, and disagree with this one (Im not gonna say much more 'cause every bike is a balance between this handicaps, when you find the balance probably that one is your bike). Coming back to my comment in your previous video; Why don't you recommend DCT from ATAS for 50/50 off rad traveler as me? As I said in my last comment, I understand the friction zone of the clutch is more easy to dominate than the electronic throttle, but when you do it, DCT has more advantages (Imo).

Dct is great but atas dct is a heavy bike , that is why tiger is the sweatest spot but it breaks tremendously, só I recomend atas dct than tiger. If you are billionaire go for tiger.
@@dommotos I come from a BMW F850 GS ADV, Im 6.5 feet, so I feel ATAS more manageable than BMW, maybe is the suspension or the construction of the bike. Personally I dont want a bike for let me alone in the middle of the road out nowhere hehehe... If so, I go for the KTM 1290 SAR.

@@dommotos OH, so you are the billionaire here! Hahahaha Im joking mate! These bikes have been on my sight since I decided to swap my BMW. ATAS DCT and KTM 1290 SAR are the winners for me for now after I tried a lot of demo bikes. Would you do it? Im very surprised hehehehe
@@mochiman1613 hahaha atas dct is the best. In Brasil they are very expensive, in EUA is a must. Tiger 900 is 30-40% cheaper
How top heavy does it feel compared to the twin and the ktm?

What you didn't talk about is reliability. I have always been leery of getting in the triumph vortex of continues never ending problems. You seem to turn bikes quick so maybe this is not a concern for you???

@@chaosking1986yeah for sure. Just take your time picking terrain. Don’t go hit a technical trail right away, it’s a big bike still. But much easier to handle than many others

I just bought the 890 the tiger was to easy to ride. Thought it was a scooter way to easy to drive. Thats a great thing but not for me

the only bike I owned that had problems was my honda, lol. but again I don't keep bikes for long. But I think this one will be around awhile
