Shimmies are the main thing I've been struggling with. Your tips here are very valuable. I already realized a while ago that my left knee basically can't hold up to my right knee (the movement is slower and less big) which makes it very difficult to sustain a shimmy for a longer time and it also makes layering very hard. In addition, whenever I think to much about the shimmy, all of my muscles seem to lock up and then I can't get them to relax anymore - which basically means I'm done practising shimmies for that day. The good news is that constant practising has been giving me results, thank god. I would go crazy if there was no improvement whatsoever.
I'm gonna incorporate the strengthening exercises you show here into my practice routine and I also think I might try jogging to increase stamina.
Just a small feedback for the video: I thought the backgroud music was a bit distracting, I think because of the volume.
