Soot Il Sharq is a special musical group organized by Shahrzad which features talented Cairo-based musicians. The goal of the group is to re-create a traditional Takht Sharqi (small acoustic band) and play classical and folk Egyptian music.

I am so impressed with your style, grace, elegance and unique musicality. in a world of flotsam and jetsam and so many enthusiastic students promoting themselves before their talent matches their enthusiasm it is refreshing . And this costume goodness!. having lived in the middle east for years I know a good thing when i see one. you have the figure that Arabs dream of!!! and certainly expect when it comes to this dance!
Finally, I see a costume that is (almost) as classy and elegant as you are! Not quite there, but close. The lighting is lovely... Beautiful dancing and perfect music, thank you for sharing this with all of us

You really stand out from other dancers by your interpretation of the melodies of the tonal instruments. Lots of people can follow a drum beat, and you certainly can, but you bring the strings to life in a magical and unique way that makes your dance so compelling to watch. Thank you for keeping the spirit of improvisation alive in your dance that interprets the music in such an exotic, but relatable way. You're so inspiring!
