      Rather than allowing it to cool and using the timer for 7 days time, I'd suggest reducing the set temperature to 32-34ish and leaving it on. Knock it back up to 'normal' as soon as you return (or get a friend to do it the day before). It'd be cheaper and cleaner that way. Also put tablets in it

    Clear explanation, but I'm at a loss as to why it would be use. I check my spa daily, and when i think i may even want to use it, go back to it and start it heating/pumping. Dont get what the benefit is the timer function if 1) it cant be left to run and cycle 2) has to be setup and started each time.. I'm sure there are use cases but I've just not thought of them... :D Good video again tho, and i like the end bit 'i shall see you again pointy finger'. Reminds me of Shaw Taylor on Police 5 :D (showing my age....)

    • @AbouttheHouse0
      @AbouttheHouse0  Před 2 lety

      I can think of a few use cases. If you're going away for a holiday you could set it to be ready for when you get back.
      If you have economy 7 leccy you can set it to heat in the cheap rate
      Set it up in the evening so it's ready for when you get home from work the following day
      And no doubt more. I agree it's very limited though. It would have cost less than a fiver in production costs to put a proper timer in the controls OR at least make the unit capable of being used with a plug-in timer.

I turned off the heat button thinking it was the circulation button! this vid helped me realize that.

    Quick tip, you can set the duration and then keep the second option (Time) to 0 for it to turn on now for X amount of hours.
    I do this most mornings when leaving for work and its toasty if the Mrs wants a dinner time dunk.

      What do you mean set time to zero ?

    • @Darksum90

      @@CityGirl33 When you press the timer button, the first time you set is the duration (how long you want it to run for) then you hit the timer button again to confirm, it moves you onto another time option. This is the “How long from now do you want it to turn on” option. If you leave it at zero, you can have it turn on from now until however long you set the duration for.
      Good for starting it on a morning for a few hours to get it warmed up a bit more, and if you decide to not go in, you don’t have to worry about going back out to turn it off.

    Thanks for the video! What is preferable- To keep the heat at, say, 36 degrees continuously, or to let it cool down and heat up again 4 hours before bathing?

    • @imaginitivity7853
      @imaginitivity7853 Před měsícem

      That depends on how much you pay for electricity at any given time. If you have solar panels for example, keeping it at temp while the sun shines is probably the better option. If you get cheap rate electricity at night and use the tub in the morning, having it heat overnight makes sense. If you're able to add additional insulation around the tub to reduce heat loss, keeping it at temperature may be as effective as only heating prior to use. A lot of variables to consider in each user's situation

    Excellent. Is it OK to use chlorine tabs in the built in dispenser? Or should you always dissolve them in a jug and then add the solution to the tub?

      Put them in the holder on the inside of the spa above the filter

    Thanks for this video! I just set up my spa, is it my understanding there is no way for this pump to come on by it's self unless I set the timer every day? And the heater will not come on unless I start it myself as well?

    • @AbouttheHouse0
      @AbouttheHouse0  Před rokem +1

      The timer sets the heater to come on in X hours time for Y hours. When the heater comes on by timer, the pump comes on too and goes off at the end of the timed period.
      You can have the pump on at any time (or all the time) by switching it on.

    Hi can I ask a silly question... after use of hot tub do I power it off and turn back on in the morning. And should I leave the filter and or heat on all day when it's being used or waiting for people to use. I hope this makes sense. Thank you I love your videos

    • @AbouttheHouse0
      @AbouttheHouse0  Před rokem +3

      It is best to leave the circulation pump on or at least run it for 4hrs in every 12hr period. If you're using the tub most days then leave the heating set to 2-3c below normal use temp and then put the temp up a couple of hours before use. If you use it in the evening you could use the timer to bring it back on next morning. Remember, overnight is when it will cool the most.

    I want the heater on now and then come back in a few hours and have hot water. It's hard to tell which is the time delay and which one is the heat on time?
