Even the best of games have often deemed to be either a bit too long or a bit too short, while those that are particularly brief or lengthy can find themselves on the receiving end of stronger criticism.

I love it when games are 50 to 100 hours. I work a full-time job and I’m always busy so when I go to play a game, I love it when they can take me a year to complete.
Play Stardew Valley 1.6, The Sabouter or Fallout 3 these games take 6 months to a year to complete.
Edith Finch was one of the best "games I never play" highly recommend it
When you add new game plus into the mix, many of the LONG games suddenly become much more manageable as one see's the bloat created by leveling up, crafting for better gear and all that mess, etc. The player can focus on the main storyline as well as pick and choose anything else instead of having to do every little thing again.

No such thing as perfect length, it's all about the journey and whether it stays interesting or not throughout that journey! You can have a great game that could be 100 hours long that is just as good as 5 hour long game! The question for me is just don't expect me to pay 20 USD plus for the 5 hour or shorter one! It's all about value for money for me, not the length of the game! I Even if a game is 20 hours long and costs 20 USD, but I spend only 3 hours playing it before quiting, that is not value for money for me. But equally if I spend 70 dollars on a game where I spend over two hundreds hours on, that's value for money! BUt I can tell you I am not going to spend 40 USD on a game that is short or has me bored that I quit within 1 hour of starting it!

On topic : Bioshock was the perfect length for me as a gaming experience

I felt like portal was the perfect length but Portal 2 felt overly long and like a bloated sequel. That said, it's still a great game.
I definitely prefer games between 5-20 hours max. I work 45hrs a week, and have a busy life. I honestly don't know how people can put 50, 100+ hours constantly into games, unless they A) Don't work (and contribute to society) and don't have a life B) Aren't old enough to work and don't have a life or C) Work and spend every free moment gaming and clearly don't have a life.

I'm 160 hours in Cyberpunk and got most of the DLC and the 3rd act to go. It's been a slog over the last few months I gotta say lol
I've finished witcher 3 and FF15, both took me more than 100hrs. I have a job, I have a family and I spend a good time with them, while also playing kids games with my daughters. So yes it's your lack of commitment and patience over everything, it took me a year to finish witcher 3, but I did finish it with all the side quests. I don't know this logic of attacking those who accomplish something, just because you don't have the capability to do so.

Put my kids through school and spend quality time with them. Telling me I can't accomplish anything because I don't play through 100+ hour video games is a pathetic joke.

What's actually pathetic is your logic, "I'm incapable of playing longer games, so anyone who does it must be a loser." What kind of logic is that? Is this the kind of logic you use to run your family? I find that hard to believe. People like me, we sacrifice a lot to get atleast half a half hour to play games, while also fulfilling our duties, all for a random stranger to protect his lack of time management on us and attack is for your incapability?
