Each city district had a party with the biggest event being District 1 party downtown! Giant cake, lots of activities around the square, historical signs and so much more!
I don't remember any special function for opening the vault in 2005. My family lived in Paint Rock Valley right after the Civil War...marched right through the area on the way to Shiloh eventually. Thought it was so pretty, would return right after the war.

I was a volunteer during the bicentennial celebrations and came across different tapes they wanted me to edit for different uses!

The public opening of the 1955 vault was in January 2005 I believe. There was quite a crowd present! I’ll see if I can find my footage!

No, it was opened in 2005 and seal was broke and everything inside was wet!
