It is so very that Dionne Warwick was not an inductee in this year's r&b hall of fame. All due respect to the other artists. However, Dionne Warwick's many decades of chart toppers should have been considered as well. She has had the longevity that many have not. Why she has been over looked is amazing and appalling. Who has master her vocal range and technique. Promises Promises alone is both difficult to play and sing. Yet, she went from the lower range to hit and sustain the high notes effortlessly. Although she was honored this year at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, she has otherwise been far too long overlooked. Cynthia Erivo sang "Alfie" which was a breathtaking performance. She nailed it and honored Ms. Warwick's classic. Dionne Warwick I have followed you from the Scepter years to present. Is she lip syncing here? It sounds pretty much like the recording. Also promises promises is a song that leaves very little room for deviation or embellishments - It pretty much has to be sung As Is. So why do you believe she's lip syncing?
@@markpeter4304 She is lip-syncing here. Play the original studio vocal and play this one. They are identical. No singer sounds exactly like their studio vocal when they sing live. (Also, if you watch her breathing, she isn't taking the slightly larger breaths you need when hitting extended notes. That's a dead giveaway. I'm a longtime professional musician and singer, and this is an easy one to spot)
