  • Hey Friends! The quest for a sound system that plays nicely with eARC continues. Today's video shows a Polk Audio system comprised of 2 HTS 10 subs and 2 Polk ES20 book shelf speakers. The subs are powered, the bookshelf speakers are using the Sonos AMP.

I commented on the last video you were talking about, probably gotten buried.
Grab an OREI EARC to rca converter from there you’ll get your line out to feed a drive rack. Then powered monitors and subs and you’re off to the races.

Extracting the audio isn’t the issue. My problem is that I need the TV’s remote to attenuate the volume of the system. The extractors only give you the full volume PCM audio. The TV can not attenuate the PCM audio which is the problem. The Sonos AMP and Bar read the IR signal from the TV’s remote and attenuate the volume.

@@billylaguardia volume control is dome via CEC. And not via copying the ir signal. Look into the tv’s settings and make sure that it’s on. Each OEM has their own name for CEC. With the OREI box that I’m telling you it can be done. I have it with my LG C3 via EARC and you can control the volume with it. We deploy this all the time. The Orei box will appear as a visio sound bar that can do atmos. With the Orei box you can get rid of the sonos amp and go straight to the driverack and to studio mons and subs. Like what you always do. You’ve been missing out on EARC and CEC. With my explanation to the older video the problem with CEC is sometimes decides it won’t work anymore. But with my LG C3 it does work. I even have an older LG tv coincidentally that I control the volume from my apple tv because of CEC. Below is a list of CEC names from OEM’s.
