- Showing you how to edit the APN settings when the + is missing and the 3 dots do nothing on the Sharp Aquos R and many other phones which doesn't allow you to manually edit the APN settings.
My Sharp Aquos R is originally on Softbank Japan network and they've restricted the user being able to edit the APN settings and after failing to find a solution online I have to figure it out myself and so I did. Enjoy!

@@taskr36 I have same problem on Umidigi A9 Pro 2020. Updated to OS 11 and now wont connect to network, apns are greyed out. However both the apps wont work on OS 11 :( hopefully QSCM will update the app. maybe it will work then.

I bought the phone from Japan (live in Denmark), and tried every suggested solution it there to get mobile data to work on the phone. Great video, in my case i took a smartphone from the Philippines to Italy (S9 plus original) I can get only 2g signal from all the sim i put inside and of course i cannot to edit the apn and i have no idea how to solve it, when i install this software it is not possible to do it, it is missing the voice for to add one apn
Its because of carrier locked. happen to my sim too. Dito Sim Samsung note 8 Duos Globe locked.

i have a s10 bought through straight talk directly and it will not allow me to add apns and the existing apn is listed a tracfone??? tracfone sends me back to straight talk and it starts a circle. i followed this step by step but there is no apn under settings this way either. there has been crud service where i am in az. anyone have this same issue?

Did what was recommended and only got as far as placing APNs Settings shortcut icon on screen. But when I opened the settings, the Internet list and ' + ' (add sign) are still greyed out...

No because you're creating a shortcut within nova. Try shortcutmaker instead.

I got a txt saying my phone had no apn settings and they were going to provide them. Then I got txt saying these are the codes. One for apn and one for moms. The first didn't come by txt but by notification then I got notification with the process where I would need codes. But when I went back to get codes I lost notification. So now I don't know how to install the apn settings. I hope your video helps me. Thanks in advance

I'm trying to solve the same problem. The phone is an UMIDIGI A3 running android 8.1 I followed these steps but when I click on "APNs" it flashes for a moment but won't bring up the menu. Might you have any ideas on what else can be done>?

@@3urai I got a different sim card and it works perfectly now. In my case it turns out the phone simply wasn't compatible with my provider
@@Bp323 i am happy for you... i just found solution too... just turned on airplane mode after 10-15 seconds later turned it off then clicked cellular where access points are (in my device) and whola it appeared in emergency mode(no more access point names are not available for this user) clicked on it and i configured my sim card company apn settings...

Hey man, I need your help bad. I can save APNs but I can't select them. When I click it it just shows the information, it doesn't select, no bulletpoint shows up at all. My phone is stuck on slow 3g when I pay for 4g, but when I manually select 4g then I get no service at all. Help!! LGV60 Sprint model Unlocked on MetroPCS Service.
Sprint V60 might have some bands restricted and not supported by other carriers.

Fail on Umidigi Bison. I have Verizon and the bearer is unspecified when there should be many things in there. As a result, text will send but not be received. After following proper steps here, when you try to pull up apn's from icon, nothing happens, it's dead! Does anyone have a fix for the Umidigi phones for the apn's to be able to edit them to fix this problem without rooting?
Not worth your time dealing with Umidigi really.

Yes i have the same issue. It was working fine, just one fine day it stopped. Now i can use only one sim. I put my other sim into another fone n its working fine. So its an issue with the handset. I did a factory reset too, reset netwiork setting. Nothing works.Please give us a solution.

Just got the new umidigi F2 and it has these APN no editing issue. I installed the Nova Launcher (by the way you should have mentioned that we need to install the non paid version first then buy the Prime on top as the licence. that wasted my time trying to figure it out) and followed your instructions. I have android 10 and this did not work. after I got the APN icon on my screen, it tries to open the APN screen but fails to open. going to APN thru main settings also does not show any editing features added there. so this is a bust on my device and android 10. I didn't hear you mention what ver of android you were using. I was hoping for a miracle here to help me.
Aquos R is Android 8 and I haven't really presumed there's anybody left who don't have Nova Prime, it's a must have launcher for years now.
I'm running Android 9 on a OnePlus 5t and it doesn't work either.

Frankie, since I was on this video I found another methodology on how to get this done. I had a roam mobility SD card that I use when I go across into the United States from Canada. It is not an active SIM card and you don't want one just another sim card other than your current carrier. Put that in and what happened with me is I get the APN edit and plus button to come up. I was able to create the APN for my carrier and save it. Once that's done you will not see it with the non-active SIM card but when I put my carrier card back in the APN was there and I was able to select it with all of the settings I required.

Just remember to add both the internet settings as described here, but also a separate MMS APN, if you want mms functionality. Just follow these instructions for both APN's (your provider should list their settings on their webpage).

My Samsung Galaxy S10 is only getting 3g and should be getting 4g LTE. I have spectrum mobile and have done everything except this. Will doing this get me the 4g LTE service??
If you input 4G settings then yes.
@@VoloKinProject when I try to adjust that it gives me a global or LTE/CDMA option instead when I select network mode.

Im in setting and im not seeing APN. Even after installing and following the steps.
I've got another phone which doesn't show the APN but the data works fine. Reset the default APN settings, input the new correct settings, hit Save. Try if you have data or not.

I tried this using free version as I won't pay for it if it won't work obviously and it is blocked on android 10 on my Umidigi A5 Pro. After downloading and creating a apn shortcut it just flashes and stays on home screen.
