    When it comes to uploading files, I find some newer personal files grayed out, unselect-able and un-upload-able, even though they are visible and open-able in Downloads or Drive folders.

    Can you do this on your computer instead just by browsing through the files? No root

    Junge I just got a new cubot 8.1 with same issue.
    You seem to know stuff most of us do not. From this level explaination it is not understandable. I'm also on Fido. I never thought I'd ever see an issue like this. No APN adjustment is ridiculous. It makes the phone unusable

      hi yes it is ridiculous, unless you have your phone rooted there is no way to edit the apns. I tried everything and even after i got it rooted it tool me awhile to figure out how to edit them because you have to open the actual code file to do it.

      I found another video last night after I saw yours on a channel call CJ CJ and he found out somehow that if you put a USA SIM card in the phone it opens up the APNs allowing you to add and edit even without the USA SIM card being activated. I'm going to try that today. But it seems to me that if that works it's not a Google problem it's Rogers who have specifically done something in their Network that has taken advantage of something in 8.1 to not allow the proper APNs to get 4G LTE into non supplied Rogers and Fido phones. So I believe this is a Rogers specific conspiracy. Just think of all of the European and Asian countries who use GSM networks and all of the variances in apn's. This cannot be a Google issue it must be Rogers

      @@2bikemikesguitartopics145 nice i hope it will work out for you, as i did not come across a suggestions like that but then again i was doing mine a few months ago so there are more suggestions out there now. yes i read that since the new android the carriers can do something with the apns if they want to but idk if it's true... said something about google letting the carriers choose if apns are allowed to be edited on their network or not.

      I track down one of those roam mobility SIM cards and yes it did open up the APN for adding and editing however it allowed me to input all the parameters I need for Fido except the MCC and MNC numbers. When I put in either one of those the entire file disappears after selecting save or eraced in the phone. If I leave those as the default that comes from the SIM card it will save the file but of course unusable on my network. So I have not been able to save my file the way it was described by CJ in his effort. I'm still screwed

      Hmm interesting, yea your best bet is to root and then go into the file to edit the apns

    Dude, can you give more details on how you make changes in /system/etc/apns-conf.xml?

    • @jungeh4683
      @jungeh4683  Před 4 lety

      Each time you open the file you have to click the lock and confirm that you are unlocking the file for editing
