- Dirk Benedict (born Dirk Niewoehner on March 1, 1945) is an American movie, television and stage actor and author. He is best known for playing the characters Lieutenant Templeton "Faceman" Peck in The A-Team television series and Lieutenant Starbuck in the original Battlestar Galactica film and television series. He is the author of Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy and And Then We Went Fishing.
I know they say not to meet your hero’s but after growing up as a kid in the 80’s obsessed with the A Team, I was over the moon to eventually meet Dirk. He’d been doing theatre at Milton Keynes theatre in the UK a few years back and my whole family met him at the stage door exit after the show. All I can say is this guy is the real deal, he was such a nice genuine chap, and very generous with his time. He spent several minutes with us even though he’d more than likely had a long tiring day. I’m so glad I met him, and got a perfect photo with arms around each other. Great memories, and such an unreal opportunity meeting him.
Dirk is a real man, who is level headed and down to earth.
His priorities seem well in order, God bless him and his children.

There is an old saying, marrying or entering a relationship with an attractive person is like buying a house for the paint. Paint fades, cracks, and can be changed. Sad.

I like Dirk, but everytime I see him on these things he's talking about his politics and beliefs... Just talk about the shows! Most people there will be wanting to hear about the shows that they love.
