Although it has become common to equate religion with the mere identification with a cultural bloc, Islam was during the time of the Prophet ﷺ first and foremost defined by spiritual excellence, which can be described as personal and cultural excellence as manifest in one's character.
Prior to the establishing of rules and regulations, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ spent nearly a decade simply in purifying the hearts and souls of his companions, and leading them to the truth and reality of Islam, namely, human beings of moral and spiritual excellence based in selflessness, light, love, compassion and goodness.
To be a Muslim by definition asks and requires of us to be, first and foremost, people of excellence, beauty and light. These internal qualities of grace are the very manifestation of Islam, and without inner humility and piety, external forms can only lead to hypocrisy.

In the end, Islam simply means submission of ones limited self to Gods will. Since the Divine has infinite (or 99) positive qualities, these positive Divine qualities will shine through when the delusion of the psychological self is broken.
When you are in anger, you are not in Islam. When you are in jealousy you're not in Islam. All of these negative psychological states arise from forgetting God and becoming attached to ego.

I've been watching Islamic videos on youtube for more than 20 years now. Only today I discovered your channel and I thank Allah for this gift. Thank you, brother Ihsan, for presenting Islam in such a beautiful way. I travelled to many countries with Tabligh brothers from Jordan to encourage Muslims in those countries to work for Islam and convey this great message and also to invite Non-Muslims to Islam. I'm sure that I will learn much from your channel to help me in my effort. I've always loved Sufism and Sufi People . I ask Allah to bless you and reward you.

Great video! , I like the positive elements of the attributes of God, I never thought it like that. I like idea of meditating on the names . Ar Rahman is an attribute I'm curious about. May Allah swt accept the meditation practice and this work from us all Ameen Ya Rab.

I need you to speak with your shaykh who is the shaykh of my children's father. He's become a menace to the children now...He's been in this tariqa f8r nearly 20 years. I need you to get this message to your shaykh. I hold them accountable also. The children father has nothing but " my shaykh" yet is just a bulky and emotionally incapable of connecting and listening to his young female children's needs. It's gone on for 5 years. And my health has suffered. He's like a lead weight. No one cared when it was me being affected but now he's doing the same to the children...where the health when you see wrong there are 3 levels of 1. To change I justice zulm/oppression with your hands if not then with your tongue if still not dislike it in your heart and that's the least type of faith.
These shaykhs condition you with the belief that the shaykh can see their mureeds and distance is no obstacle..so this means they are party to the suffering experience by me and my children...hes been with these naqshbandis shaykhs for 20 years!!! I need you to take this message to them who are I feel to blame more!!
May Allah ease your sufferings sister.
