This is the club protecting his value. No way Edwards lets him walk for free.
Done the same with suarez
When people backtrack on statements made it's a sign that they hold no value on something or someone.
The headless chicken approach.
Wise words from your Father Paul, man of wisdom.
Not really...
Listen to your Dad. He's coming back from injury..He's world class. We'd be lucky to have him sign an extension
Yet we've played some of our best football whenever he was gone.
Its been the 3rd season in a row hes fallen apart after afcon. What are you talking about
29 games, 17 goals 9 assists this season.
Thatâs what Iâm talking about
He is our best player.
Whoâs Dad is it !!?? Gotta sell him, his pace has vanished and heâs going to start being less available. Plus he doesnât press or track back.
John Machin spot on, Salah has been injured and is playing with Darwin Nunez đ
Unless Liverpool have a world class replacement lined up you canât sell Salah. Who are they looking at?
You lot can seriously f**k off with scapegoating Nunez. Such a twitter mongrel thing to do.
you're looking at better players with some money now, than no money in a year or two.
Johan Bakayoko would be a nice replacement, energetic, quick, skillful and can beat a man 1 vs 1, Salah can't do none now, time to sell.
Exactly. Hes right. Sure hes struggled recently but look at his stats compared to the shite stats wise we don't even talk about. JONES. I heard people few weeks back slag gakpo, fickle morons. I know quality when I see it and gakpo nunez Diaz salah.keep. the midfield...alli yes bozza yes albeit hes not delivered either.. Jones? Nope for the lack of.goals and assistdhes bang average but no one says anything about it. Bring Carvalho back. Elliot come on and.i was hard on him but he's improving..the midfield needs more quality. Van dijk is not the same.level albeit still ok we need to look for another
Just to add some perspective......... Salah was a 30+ goals a season player in his peak, he's slowly declined over the last three seasons to the point he's on the same goals and assists as Nunez this season in open play!! 17 Goals and 13 Assists!! When you look at the stats Peak LFC v's now there is only one player that jumps out as being way off it........ Salah.
Salah is phenomenally fit, I have no doubt he has 3-4 more years of top level performances
Fit but dogs it on defense.
No . He thinks that he is bigger than us . sale and bye
The best player in the last seven years!
Certainly not the best player now which is what matters
Agree with that, but not anymore, age has caught up with now, lost sharpness and cannot beat left backs one on one.
The problem with some of LFCâs fans simply is they donât give Mo the love and respect he deserves. They praise him from one side of their mouth and curse him out in the same breath. 7 season with nothing but hard work and trophies. Sadly to say he loves Liverpool FC and thatâs his weakness and fault because he couldâve jumped ship like the rest and took the easy money, but no not him not Mo and for that reason he should leave us LFC and when he finally leaves we all will know how much we didnât appreciate him for what he does. Start looking for a replacement averaging 40 plus goals a year if you can and when you do you wonât be able to afford him anyhow!!!
John as usual - the voice of reason !

Canât believe the questions around Salah I really canât! Put him in a well oiled team with players who take their chances and heâs still one of the best forwards in the world!
He is a LFC legend that loves the club enough to end his career with us. His goals over the years has repaid his value. Let him retire at our club, if thats what he wants.
Iâm glad you guys finished with that. Because since he came back other than Everton he shouldâve had like 2 assists a game that other players didnât finish absolutely fantastic passes that if they were Trent everyone wouldâve been waxing lyrical about. And nobody would be dissing salah now.
You should all seriously go back and watch the first half of the season (before his injury) he was literally being talked about for the ballon dor and was the main reason we were top of the league. I can make a 20 minute compilation of all the world class assists he made or should have had if darwin and diaz finished them off. And add to that 2 own goals that he clearly didnât get the assist for because the striker hit another player first (elliott against wolves and darwin against villa i think). My point is he is world class and probably will be for at least a couple more years. Definitely keep him.
If we can get ÂŁ80-ÂŁ120 million for him now then sell him, Saudi offered ÂŁ200m last summer and PSG will be looking as well. Klopps system makes these players look way better than they are and Salah minus the athleticism isnât something we want to see.
Donât let him leave on a free like Firminho.
Daddy is the most level headed man in this group!
City werenât afraid to sell their best ever player Aguero as soon as his performances dropped. Got to be ruthless to be a winning club rather than a fringe club as we are.
Big difference between pep and klopp. Klopp keeps players for so long they become worthless and the rebuilt is 10 times harder
Brother city go and buy halland /alvarez haha.. we go and say we have danns or buy some unknown which will take time to develop n go back to top 4 challenge
Salah's performances dropped years ago.
@@TerribleEnglish genuinely he hasnât been the same player since the previous AFCON when sadioâs Senegal beat Egypt in the final. He come back from that a different player and never got back to his previous best. The goals have continued which has hidden it but he lost a yard of pace, never beats a man anymore and his shooting has been dreadful. I focus on him more that Darwin because Darwin isnât meant to be the main man, heâs paid 1/3 of Salah so that comes with responsibility to perform when we need him, and he hasnât
@@reecejones3187 Thank you! My goodness, I was going insane here, lol. And, yes, it's amazing how people forget that Darwin was our best player for a few months when he was on the left, being called 'Captain Chaos', with defenders talking about how he's a nightmare to play against!
Oh John man, there is a reason why I love you on these podcasts. You are the first person I've heard, in the last 2 weeks, to even mention the word 'Afcon'. Completely forgotten. I tell you, if we continue to beat players up, it will become a self-filling prophecy, and they won't even want to stay. Salah could have left at anytime he wanted of the last few years, and has shown his loyalty. Lets back him!!! He's now got until August to get up and running, so excellent, a good start to next season!
Loyalty? Is that why he stayed, or was it more to do with him sulking until they upped his wage to ÂŁ450,000.
@@annewallis5728 Could have got a similar wage elsewhere...
If you watched the entire incident from beginning to end you wouldnât be upset with Mo , on the contrary you wouldâve felt sorry for him because it looks like Klopp wanted to take his frustration on Mo and he didnât want to get on the pitch with the last thing he had to hear is negativity from his manger but it seems like Klopp won this battle and manged to break MOâs cool by getting into his head with nonsense!!
This is all just a storm in a tea cup. A top player and coach has had a disagreement. So what? Happens every day. Salah is a humble guy with no record of shenanigans.
210 goals, and at a better strike rate than the only two players ahead of him all time says all. He's a legend.
Happens very publicly on the sidelines does it?
So what!
John talks a lot of sense đđ
100% Paul doesnât
All this show needs is John. Hit the nail on the head.
I loved the part "give him a break, he plays with Darwin Nunez"
Pauls Dad is most sound and knowledgable and makes Chris sound quite silly on the Mo situation!! have him on more..
It's very hard to make Chris sound silly but Daddy did a great job.
Loved John's reaction: he's known comings and goings forever. Mo has not had a major injury until this season. Give him a chance to recover to (near) best next season.
Salah é espetacular, o Liverpool na minha opinião precisa continuar com ele, faz parte do processo de reconstrução do elenco
He can stay but on one condition: he must resign from the Egypt national team. No more travelling to Africa during the season to play for Egypt and get injured.
I think Edwards has crunched the numbers & thought we canât replace his output with a replacement or whoâs even available in our squad now. Think more work is needed in Defence first and foremost and then definitely a 6 before touching the 5 or 6 forwards.
What output? He may be involved in lots of goals but he costs us even more goals with his poor finishing, losing possession and refusing to pass to players in a better position

An ACL is worse than what Salah suffered. But I think itÂŽs the mental blow of it being really the first really long term injury heÂŽs had in his career. HeÂŽs used to playing every week and sometimes twice a week and being out for so long might have messed up his rythm because heÂŽs never dealt with it before.

Machin Sr. absolutely cooked on this one
Lets be honest in finals he hasn't scored in open play. He falls away when we need goals the most.
Yes he has big numbers but that doesnt change that fact. He also should never have shown such disrespect to Klopp.
So we should of kept Origi instead because he scored vs Barca in the semi and Spurs in the final from open play? đ€«
No one scored regularly in finals.
In recent years Kane, Haaland, KDB, Lewendowski, Firmino, Mane, and many more have failed to score in finals.
It's normal.
They are tight games with good defenses.
That's why guys like Rodri, Goetze and Belleti end up scoring the winner half the time.
Yes letâs sell him, keep Nunez and Diaz etc and see how many goals our top scorer gets next season. You say he gets big numbers like thatâs easy or something
@@Gsdizzle19 where did I type that?
@@NeilLewis77 top players turn up when the pressure is on.
Mo Salah is going through a tough time but his partnership with Darwin Nuñez was excellent before 2024, they were giving each other assists and scoring plenty of goals. Should still play them together and try to make it work again like before!
The fact that he's the penalty taker lifts his numbers. Long time since he's curled one into the top left bin, though he keeps trying. Defenders have largely worked him out. (Grapple him, knock him off balance as he receives the ball). Still a phenomenal player and can pick a pass but never going to be as effective. Either reduce his pay or sell him.
Salah is staying and now everyones view on Salah changes!
Why do you think Salah's staying, just because someone said so?
He should go. Liverpool fans don't respect him. short memories
@@aryak007 I remember Salah being awesome. That was over 2 years ago.
I think this whole conversation is disrespectful. Salah is a legend. I hope he retires with us. I could care less about the money.
Move him into a 10 and put Szabo on the right and Diaz on the left, 2 behind him in CM (Trent/Mac + CDM) and Jota/Darwin/Danns is the 9 and he'll be amazing.
Basically, his our best player....surround him with legs and talent and he'll go up a level.
Have you watched the clip of all his assists that we've missed? He's been incredible at times this season.
The most worrying thing about Salah's form to me is the fact that it's things like his touch has been poor. I've seen Mo control passes perfectly, that looked impossible to control. But he does that more often than not. And it's a real concern to see the ball bounce off his shin instead lately. Also his passing has been way off. He is usually so neat and tidy passing, and capable of threading some outstanding through balls for others. It seems to me those things can only come down to lack of concentration. Because we know he has the ability
An Egyptian journalist with strong sources said yesterday that Klopp told Salah ' play like a man ' cause Salah didn't give him a proper handshake as Salah was angry for warming up for 20 mints so when Salah heard him he got more angry and responded
I understand the temptation to cash in, but i think he's falling victim to this consistent underrated perception he's always held at LFC.
Let's have it right, he's the best player we've had since Stevie. He performs even when the squad doesn't, all time goalscorer.
He's the kind of player who has spoilt us for years, and if he went, we would really feel it.
King Mo deserves much more respect than he currently gets.
Preach
What he did 3 years ago should not cloud judgment on today. Pep got rid of aguero their best ever player as soon as standard dropped. Thatâs how you become a winning club rather than a fringe club as we currently are. Ruthlessness
Why, if we speak is there going to be fire as well?
I think a one year extension with a one year option is a fine deal. We may drop his salary but offer lucrative bonuses for hitting goal contribution milestones. This makes sure we get the performance from him while still offering him a goal to maintain top pay. My idea is 1yr +1yr option with a 175K/week wages and a 5 mil bonus for 25 goal contribution and an additional 5 mil for 40 goal contributions in all competitions. This would put total compensation per year at 19.1 mil if he hits the milestones which is a 900k pay raise per a year from his 18.2 mil. If he only hits the first milestone he still gets 14.1 mil but otherwise protects Liverpool from having another Thiago nightmare of paying someone big money to be injured at only a base 9.1 mil salary. Just an idea that rewards a world class player and protects Liverpool.
1. Youâre saying Salah hasnât been doing the business. Klopp won 1 league and 1 UCL in the last 9 years.
2. This is the first time Salah throws a massive fit. Heâs been a model professional since heâs joined. The way a lot of you fans threw him under the bus after 1 issue is crazy.
3. People forget that what Mane did was exactly the same with Klopp. Nobody said crap.
4. Klopp hasnât been perfect in all of this. Some players (pep and sir Alex do this as well) never bench their best players - or put them on with 10 mins to go. Salah has done a lot. Youâll never see KDB coming on or Messi coming on in final 5-10 mins.
5. Speaking of Klopp. Klopp screwed Salahâs relationship with the Egyptian fans during the AFCON when he revealed salah is going back to Liverpool. It was supposed to be a secret - and klopp knew it. Go read about it. Salah probably wonât forgive him.
6. Klopp deciding to leave after making salah stay was pretty crappy of him as well.
The big question is when only 10 minutes left of the game only Klopp decided to do sub????
Hendo and Milner both clashed with Klopp but there was no where near as much noise as there is now!!!!!
Tired of losing players to Afcon at one of the most important periods in the season.
John talks a lot of sense and Salah has been a wonderful player for us and can still produce a moment of magic but he hasn't been on top of his game for the whole season and part of last season. We need fresh legs, youth and energy down the right. Pace to beat a man.
Is Salah the kind of player to realise he's not automatically first choice next season? To understand his time on the pitch has to managed because of age and/or injury? If he stays he needs some top notch competition in his position, then you might see the old Salah fighting for his place. If not, then we should cash in and use the money to rebuild the right hand side and central defence.
Up the mighty Reds.
Mane was never a clinical finisher he needed 3 or 4 chances to score
đfor real he would miss 3 sitters a game
I think thje older chap"s comments were very balanced and cool headed. Money ( sales value ) apart, Salah should be kept if he wants to stay: he"s world class when he"s playing well- however, that spat with Klopp was telling because it shows how Salah might react if he doesn"t get the same amount of game time as he used to when Danns starts to be used more or another striker is brought in.
If Salah stays I'd love to see him play as a striker, similar to how Pep played Messi as a false 9 at Barca.
QUESTION
For those of you who want to sell Mo...
His replacement must first be signed before Mo is sold.
Who is realistically available to replace Mo this summer?
Nobody I can think of but I'm no Michael Edwards
Daddy seemed to have been trying his best to not let these juniors have a proper piece of his mind!!!đđ
John the voice of reason, selling him isnât the move, need that experience in the squad with a new manager.
We've spent a year throwing money into the furnace for Thiagos wages , theres no way we should be paying Salah 350k a week to not be a nailed on starter for 80-90% of games (baring injury). There is no way a 32 year old forward can perform at that level anymore. As regards Newcastle there is no way with their FFP situation they can but him for 100 million and pay his huge wages. I'm shocked how you say Van Dyke new contract is a no brainer.... he's been a poor on field Captain and surely in his position he carries a lot of the responsibility for our shocking record of going behind in games this season.
Why are you âtaking sidesâ??
Both men are legends and we wouldnât have the trophies without either.
Neither men acted professionally in that incident but ITâS OVER!!
Salah loves the club. Clearly. Whether he stays or not, show some fucking respect.
Letâs face it, Klopp hasnât been utilizing Moâs best qualities with the constant forward scrambling changes where chemistry between the forwards has been a mess really. Salah is an emotional player and he needs to be happy on the pitch to give his best. Undermining his qualities and yelling at him like a kid just doesnât help at all.
Fanâs online are a bunch whiny plastic fans when they keep yelling to sell him and such, when they know (or donât know) itâs almost impossible to find someone else who can give you that many goals and assists per season.
FSG has the money, and selling Salah shouldnât be part of their priorities, unless he wants to leave, but heâs a legend and his family are happy where they are as far as I know.
Thatâs quite the buffet of takes youâve assembled.
He is earning 1m per week and he can't handle veing called crap when he is playing crap? Yeah, do me a favor. Come back here when you are able to remember the last he dribbled past a player, I'll be waiting.

To be fair most of the reason Iâd sell Salah is bc of Liverpools past pre klopp with bad business. I donât want to relive that madness
This isn't good news imo. I think we should have sold him last summer.

@@Freevo_Lowse midfield rebuild is not complete - we do need a better 6 than Endo and Bajcetic cannot be relied on for an entire season - we need a left footed Gomez / LCH - it would also be nice to get a striker who can lead the line and actually scores ( not Dannâs just yet)

Obvious negotiations tactics, to push any Saudi bids up
I hope you're right.
I'd keep Salah. Next season will be risky. Nobody knows how good Arne Slot really is. We will need Salah's guaranteed 25 goals and assists to get top 4.
Liverpool could be getting Salah to sign a contract in order to protect their investment. No buyer is going to offer top dollar for a player in the last year of their contract. Get him to sign a three year deal and there's your investment protected IF Saudi do come in.
You keep him, but itâs down to minute management and buying him a ready understudy
1 year extension with a 100 mil release clause
So for the player there is protection in the offer he will get from the Saudis. If LFC say he has one year left, we will not extend his contract then the Saudis will offer him a whole heap less, the same goes for the club, if he isnât likely to renew they can wait another year and get him for free. It works in both the club and the players advantage to make it look as if we still want him for 2-3 years.
The one thing I would say though is we can see the result of holding on too long with Hendo, I remember when everyone especially redmen were shouting that it was an insult not to offer an extension to Hendo, we did and regardless of where he left for his legacy was reduced because he had stayed a year to long
I mean obviously yous are all sound as, but Paul's dad is the GOAT, as I think we say these days. He should have his own channel but he's clearly way too sensible for that.
If u use data analogy, there is no way that will suggest to sell salah.. I honestly donât think any Liverpool players stood out to me till Afcon(January)he was our best player . When he came back in February in brentford he had 1 goal 1 assist .. he put it on plate for Diaz in city game when he came on 30 mins.. Brighton he scored the winner, utd at OT no one attackers were good he put on plate for sobo , n was involved in the build up of Nunez .. palace he should have scored but the defender .. after that he was benched .. technically , I would say he is still the one who is most likely to score..if anything Nunez ,Diaz jota, gakpo should be hold more accountability.. jota gets the pass eventhough he is injured but once salah comes back from injury and still being threat we Liverpool fans have talk of selling him ..really , a player of that stature who is loyal and still willing to give everything for club is rarely found .. this is really sad with the way others in the show are talking abt him except John .. cmon we are Liverpool football club we should have money instead of selling salah.. this sell/buy model has really ruined the fanbase .. not every transfer should be that . If anything if we are serious , we go in market like 2018 after cl final loss and buy a proper dM and Cb two players of high high quality that would instantly make us compete for title is what I believe instead of this forced rebuild talks
This is great news as we need our best players going into this new transitional period with Arne Slot. YNWA
I think if we had manes numbers instead of diaz then we wouldn't talk about salahs dip in form. We need another goal scorer from wide like musiala.
If it wasnât for his injuries I would be all out for Isak
Gents itâs really crazy how fast most of you turned on Salah after he gave so much to the club and was one of the best role models for our kids. He is only human and he has bad days when your ego gets the best of you. Itâs not fun to play with Darwin who misses 9/10 of the chances you create!! He has no one to play with up front! There is no mane or Firminio anymore.
Those reports are club generated so Saudi don't come in with a low offer, why else would we get news like this only days after the sideline situation
Would it be to get a higher price offer for him by chance ?
100m for salah with one year left? No chance man cmon.
Insanity offering anything other than vastly reduced terms. Heâs played so much football at such an intense level. Heâs already on 375k and for half a season hasnât performed at that level. If heâll take 200k a weekâŠgreat. If he wants more money cash in
Salah 2 year extension worth every penny!!
He has just came back from injury!!! He needs time Where are your minds!
I honestly think klopp decision to leave was becuase of the documentary we are making ... the club fsg went against him. .. and brought back Michael Edwards who was againts klopp in certain descions they didn't agree with but because klopp wants to leave the brought him back and gave him power now .
Maybe Mo should be playing as a roving no.10 from here onwards ? đ€
Salah next season will defo score over 20 goals. One little arguement with the manager on the touch line , and everyone wants him out ffs. What players can be certs for 20 goals and above next season ?
We need to replace Salah this summer with a top quality RW. If he doesn't end up going this summer then Mo can compete with the new winger and go for free next year as a LFC legend. If it was my choice then we'd sell him for ÂŁ100m this summer as he won't be getting any better and his influence in the game is falling rapidly. At this stage of our rebuild we can't afford luxury players, and that is exactly what Mo is quickly becoming.
Edwards is the one who bought Salah and he is a big fan of him. I think they are planning to build a team around Salah and Van Dijk.
I think Salah was showing some signs of decline before his injury. Once you start losing acceleration, stamina, speed, strength at that age you won't get back to where you were from 26 to 30. Either we get a decent fee for him this summer or we overpay him for another few years. I'd take Ivan Toney over this version of Salah. Salah has been great but he is not irreplaceable. He may have been irreplaceable 3 years ago but he's not now.
Sell mo đŻ we need the money to rebuild and properly and Mo money would massively help especially with Michael Edwards at the club again đ
I'm 99% sure it's Edwards maintaining Salah's value, while I respect your dad's opinion, it's one thing to believe you're good enough still but we need to be honest and he's a 32yo winger who is already falling off the proverbial cliff.. most aging players can't recoup anything, let alone a golden Saudi 100M premium to provide a launchpad to revamp key areas.. passing on that is crazy and too sentimental
I think I'm with Paul but totally get what his old man is saying.
Talking about selling SALAH this summer like itâs only your decision or even FSG decision & like if SALAH doesnât have any opinion & no one can even go against his well is really stupid because simply he can forget all the love for Liverpool & sign next season for free to a lot of bigger clubs & get a way higher salary & if you donât appreciate what SALAH did to Liverpool history & that he is a club legend you deserve to see Liverpool going back exactly like before SALAH joined dreaming to finish 6th in the PL & canât qualified to play in the CL but that was the Liverpool situation before SALAH but you still had a decent team including Mane , Fermino but can you imagine now with cheap players like ( endo , Nunez, gakpo etc) that FSG brought them to the club we will be lucky if we finish big 6
At the end I canât even believe that some of Liverpool fans & they even make a living from supporting Liverpool like you we even open that dumb subject the amount of disrespect for SALAH & what he did to that club from some fans is really dumb

Edwardâs is apparently a take the emotion away before making a decision so if thatâs true then itâs obvious to me. Sell while he is worth a fee.
Listen to the old wise man between you! Everytime doubted salah and everytime he proved you wrond! He is best player, the top scorer and provides most assist every year! Even this year he provided 21 clear chances and darwen, luis diaz missed them all if they scored them we would have won the league. And if klopp would have startded atlantaâs game at anfield with a proper team we would have won the Europa league.
Let's see..... When/if its signed....
Whenâs the last time he went past a fullback?
You two will decide whether he'll be leaving or not? He's irreplaceable and is fitter than the whole squad. Who's gonna score Diaz or Nunez
Sell him, on the decline, lack of respect for the greatest manager for us since Shanks, take the cash. Thanks for the memories Mo. Its ironic too that the person who you want to stay has the balls to say he is not as committed as he used to be, Klopp. Salah instead of accepting his decline is blaming people instead. Maybe the club coming out with that statement today has misread the mood of the fans. most I have been talking to think its time for Mo move on.
Absolutely should keep him, the old saying form is temporary class is permanent... Slot plays with a CAM, Salah in cam would be electric... Like Ronaldo, in his later years take him off the wing and put him in front of goal
Why would he want to leave when he can chill on 350k per week for one year and then go on a free transfer to Saudi Pro League and earn even higher wages?
If Salah stays he should play down the middle. We need fresh ideas, fresh legs out wide. I still think Salah can have a good season as a 9.
Do we know what salahâs injury was
