@@esist2wild yeah that could work. The backgrounds are certainly not for the spiders. It is more for the keepers pleasure. I have a few of the old Exo Terra Herbospheres and they have the photographic backgrounds and they look pretty sweet when you try to blend it with the substrate inside the enclosure. She is totally harmless, but 2-3 hours a night she will climb all over her enclosure walls and litteraly let herself fall on her back from the top of the wall, like 30 times every night. She is very bolty, but in a weird way. One minute I touch her and nothing, she stays still and moves a bit very slowly, but the next minute boom I touch her and she bolts at 300 mph giving me a heart attack. Very skiddish and shy, but beautiful and sweet.

It's a pain when they chew on the background but I personally like the look of having them in an enclosure. When they do chew on the background, I take some sphagnum moss and hot glue it to that spot so it looks natural and fills in that hole. I've done a few things to deter my tarantulas from chewing on the background. I made the background thinner so they hit the back glass and tend to stop when they realize there's no place to dig or escape and I started putting the top of the background a little higher up so they don't think there's a hole there to dig in the corner. Doesn't work 100% but it helps.

Suggestion for the background: apply the tape on the inside of the glass. That will prevent the glass from reflecting light. You could leave out a few centimeters at the bottom of the enclosure to simplify the installation, as it won’t be visible when the substrate is in place. :-)

Considering it’s Halloween you should call her Beetlejuice! My girl is called humbug as she reminds me of the sweets!

To apply that wrap, use a drop of dial soap in like 500ml of water in a mister, clean the glass, then spray with the soap/water mix, after you cut the wrap about 2.5cm larger than you nee then you peel the wrap and spray that too... when adhesive side is wet with the soap/water, apply it to the wet glass... This gives you time to move it/line it up properly. Use felt coated squeegee, or at least a card inside a thin microfiber to adhere from center to edges to remove all air, then cut the sides with a razor. It will be perfect, and the soap/water helps it adhere with no bubbles.
