Maybe try giving her a soda cap full of water to drink from? She might not like drinking from the substrate and that's why she's getting dehydrated.

My three year old loves your videos as much as I do, Linda is her favourite aswell. She doesn't want to watch cars anymore, she wants spiders haha!

She had moist sub and she even ate and still went in death curl, i then gave her a cap of water and help her to it, she drank it all, and bam good as new. This why I always include a waterdish, even (especially) for some of my smallest spiders. Without a waterdish I feel constantly worried that something like this may happen, where the spider maybe didnt drink from the droplets/substrate. Also, I have seen my spiders many many times drinking directly from the dish. Often directly after a molt, they just go straight to the water and start drinking, it´s kinda amazing to see that.

That's the hard thing about having pets of any type... you do your best, but sometimes bad things happen, and it's always sad. All in all, though, having pets is worth it. 💗

Water dishes have saved my tarantulas. I had a T Gigas in a similar death curl situation. I moved her face into the water and the next morning she was 100% revived! From then on I kept her a water dish and she uses it. Some of my T’s fill them with substrate but I just throw it away and replace the soda bottle cap. My family saves them for me so I never have to clean them out. I also have some tattoo ink pots for tiny tiny T’s who can’t fit a bottle cap in their enclosure. It’s easy, convenient and helps create a failsafe from dehydration.

I've heard in regards to tarantulas, they meet most of their hydration needs via feedings. My best guess was that your Pumpkin Patch was dehydrated from refusing to eat, which is interesting in and of itself.

The dehydrated Hapalopus seems like there is maybe something wrong with it's abdomen? It looked on the video like it had web all over the bottom of it so maybe it had a bad molt, webbed up it's abdomen to fix the issue and now won't eat because of it? I don't know, all speculation. I've just never seen a tarantulas abdomen look like that before. Definitely keep us up to date because that's very interesting.

My Heteroscodra maculata did the same thing. Didn’t eat for 6 months, drank water off the side of her enclosure and her water dish, molted twice without eating. I offered her every type of feeder I have and she took nothing. It was weird. She passed away a month ago and to this day I’m still confused.

My Borneo Black slink died two days ago. I’m not really sure what happened the only thing I can think of is the air in the enclosure became bad or maybe he died of stress. The slink was very plump when I pulled it out of the enclosure. I tried to feed it a day before it died and it seemed very spicy but refused food. The reason I think it died of stress was because I made a stupid error. I looked at a care sheet which I only do to find out if there arboreal or terrestrial I don’t take anything else from the care sheet. The care sheet said the species was terrestrial and I found out later it was actually arboreal. I designed its enclose for a terrestrial and it burrowed under the piece of cork bark I had in there. So I figured maybe since it couldn’t climb and was stuck in the ground it was just super stressed and died but I don’t know. If anyone knows about the Borneo Black species please let me know. I want to get another one but I want to make sure it survives this time. Sorry for the long comment.

Aw that sucks man but I think you should persevere with seladonias, they're one of my favourite species and even if you don't want to ever have a sling again you should totally keep your eye out for a more mature tarantula! (Or get a few slings)

you need to add a water dish, i kept a daddy long legs,a woodlouse, and a funnel spider...each one would walk up to the little plastic bottle cap i used for a water dish and dip there fangs down into the water, and if shes refusing to eat id suggest mashing up some bugs mix it in her water and she can get the nutrients needed that way

oh poor seladonia 😢 Martin at BirdspidersCH channel has really good info about seladonia care if you ever get another
also if you can put spiders to intensive care if you find them in bad condition and they will often recover. a small deli pot type container lined w/ moist paper towel and a water bowl put in a v warm environment (at least 30°) is good recovery conditions for stressed spider

What your hapalopus did is exactly what my GBB did a few months ago except my GBB was a sling and sadly never came back. Started refusing food i thought it was normal, molted continued thinking everything was okay and then after refusing food every week for 3 months my little guy just curled up and died. Kind of re-breaks my heart thinking on it and I go right back to blaming myself even though i'm almost positive my husbandry was damn near perfect. What makes it even more strange is he was a magnificent eater up until those last 3-4 months which just keeps a new keeper as myself kind of stuck.
