one thing i dont think you get enough credit for is def your english, youve always been super eloquent but to see you get better and better over the years is inspiring!
@Rabbi Bob Totally easier to understand than a Lot of UK and American dialects though. ;) His english is excellent!
I love his English. Idk how to describe it.
I kind of miss when he used to pronounce feisty as "feasty" though. Always made me smile.
@Rabbi Bob Your'e a sad little one aren't you?
@Rabbi Bob its very obvious that you aren't able to speak two languages, so i dont know why you act like you have anything worthwhile to contribute
That roach is an escape artist. How he had pretended to be hurt then he quickly crawled on that stick... impressive, very impressive
@Jesus Christ definitely
😆
Maybe cus the roach knowns
He's probably watched some of the Rambo movies......
"Oh roach, you're killing me even though I technically killed you" ~Petko, 2020~
Dear Dark Den master,
I have been coping with arachnophobia for my whole life and only a year ago, I decided to start solving the problem. I am happy to say that as for today, I live together with 2 small house spiders. They have their networks of webs freely in the house and I manage to co-exist with them, even feed them tiny insects from time to time... crazy network architects they are.
But looking into the future, I really wish to have a tarantula with a proper enclosure and stuff at one point (that point is definitely not YET!). I still have a ton to learn about those amazing creatures but was wondering if you could spare a minute to maybe guide me in the right direction a bit. Namely, there are sooooo many species out there and me being a recovering phobic and a newbie, would like to know your ideas on the exact species which would be the most "calm" and slow, "boring" type. Surely I will be keeping my distance from the old world guys.
Hope you find the time to respond and thank you for the amazing content! Discovering your content was actually the final push I needed to start dealing with the phobia-issue and to face the problem head-on. Thanks again! =)
Thats actually amazing beacuse mostly ppl are scared of those "normal" spiders, good luck, btw he has full tarantula guide vid in desc
I Had a fear of spidets too. Since Watching DARK Den and others, that almost vanished completely. I got myself a GBB. Petko has a full beginner guide with some recomendations for calm tarantulas: czcams.com/video/9i4QK587R0E/video.html
In the descriptions you'll find time markings. ❤️
I started watching these to get over my phobia to and can now successfully save spiders from the bath! My nan always said it was a poor house that couldnt keep a spider and i am starting to think about actually getting one to. I love how he talks about them like most people talk about a fancy kitten!
I used to gag trying to apply mascara because my eyelashes were too similar to spider legs. I'm better now, even held a tarantula once, but I still fear the smaller ones. Good for you, and the others who responded to you. There's a lot of us on these tarantula keeping chanels, working through our fear. Thanks to all the keepers helping us out!
Honestly the calmest and most boring ones are some of the brachypelma/tiltocatl, but I don't rlly find them beginner friendly, cuz they are,,, so,,,, boring. They barely grow, they often go on feeding strikes for long times. Like, half a year easy, same with grammostola pulcher. The sweetest pet rocks, but slow grower. It rlly depends on you, whether you want to get an adult or a sling. While adults might be calmer, a sling forces you to grow along with it, and for me, it's just a different bond. Watching this tiny fragile thing grow up to be healthy, big and beautiful, while under your care and responsibility is the best thing about the hobby to me. My first was a lasiodora parahybana, hardy, great eater (even if it may be intimidating at first, it's the most fun part besides molting) and fast grower and as an adult, she's absolutely sweet, hard to startle and when you do, she just hides. I own a few p. Machala, stunning males, fast growers, great eaters and even as a sling, pretty calm, never hide, no bolts. You might wanna check them out too.
I just like the name Bumba cabocla, fun to pronounce
Is exploooosive 🤣
looks like they been needing a new home
He did say a few are due a rehouse...
@@angielou123 they were due a rehouse months ago lol
“She starting to webbing the table”
Of course I think you know that what you called “happy dance” is when the tarantula is webbing ☺️
Thanks for the video 💘
Oh man rehouse those spiders like yesterday. Beautiful spiders.
Most of his spiders should be rehomed. Either he has too many to look after and should sell some off, or he isn't using all his money that he takes in to help them out.
Greetings from Germany love ur Content
Awesome! Can't wait for the rehouse...the colour and designs are very impressive...they are all pretty chilled too...
Can't wait for the rehouse video of those, should be fun to watch!
Love watching your videos man!! 🥰
Biggest enabler ever! I hung in there for 3 months with just my A. Aviculara. I've been working on a cool bio enclosure. Then after watching too many of these and hearing "if you don't have this one get one! " constantly... I had 6 slings delivered this week.
Trouble
You should add warnings to the beginning of all videos, in fish culture we call it MTS multiple tank syndrome... altho, that does work for T's too 🤔
Great video!
I recently started keeping jumping spiders because of the dark den
Tarantulas are some of my favorite inventions
15:30 you really put this species on my radar!! i never saw this one before properly. amazing! i will look out for it at the upcoming capital invert show in london.
"Some of them are a tiny, tiny bit too big for their enclosures.." Second tarantula is 2/3 the size of the entire floor space. This doesn't just happen overnight, it takes time for them to grow. You don't just open the enclosure one day after not seeing them for a week or two and find them enormous all of a sudden. There really is no excuse for letting them get that big before moving them into a larger space.
mydogeatspuke this is shameful. Bad husbandry.
He is in the middle of moving to a new location when he gets the time and materials they will get bigger enclosures.
Mac 77 lots of his videos are like this..
@@Mac-po1sr if this was a new thing then that would be a fine excuse, but it's not and so it isn't.
mydogeatspuke Look how 90% of people keep males. Exactly like this. So why not go to every other keeper and growl at them too?
7:15 TABLE FEEDING TABLE FEEDING.. Anyone else was in on the chant😂
When the tarantula strolled out of the enclosure I said to myself:”Feed it on the table!!!!” 😂
Always so happy to see a new upload notification from you! Love listening to that intro song, I always have a little jam session when it comes on 😂
I’m a new subscriber and I love your channel! Thank You!
Thanks for your content Petko, you make stressful days a lot easier!
I love hearing you talk! Your English is fantastic and all your babies are so cute!
such a great video! i enjoyed it so much!
Great video thanks Petko
As much as i love petko and the channel and the whole community allot, i still get sad to see how small Petko houses allot of the spiders like, petko.. rehousing is nice content too!!
100%. For all the money he is taking in off this, I remain consistently surprised that his enclosures are too small, too often.
@@wanderingsurf2842 it's because he has too many of them and not enough time. Same goes for the aggressive feeding responses, they're not fed as often as they'd like and as a result they give "great" takedown clips. He keeps adding to his collection as though they're not living things that need to be taken care of. It's VERY disappointing, but at least it's not just me noticing these things anymore.
You better not see how majority of people with bigger collection keep them. They don't really benefit from bigger enclosure, it's more for our perception, don't forget that they live in narrow burrows in nature that they never leave if there's enough food.
@@TheDarkDen and yet many of them are in such cramped spaces that there is no room for a hide let alone a burrow which is all they need..... interesting.
@@TheDarkDen comparing yourself to other people who also don't house them properly isn't a good idea.
Take a shot everytime you hear the word "regardless" 😂😂 regardless, I like this video as well as all your others ☺️
Accurate.
Hahahahaha New drinking game
What a fantastic collection AND video....thanks!!!!!!!
Haha, your energy level in this video is crazy! I feel like I've drunk five cups of coffee just watching. Love it!

E.cyanognathus needs definitely more substrate. They are fossorial and heavy burriers!
Love it!

that orange and hot blue spyder is gorgeous!
We need a Chilobrachys electric blue update 😁
The Dark Den Petko I almost bought a E. Cyanognathus sling think it was last year I was not impressed and I did not know much about the genus I did not know how beautiful they are when they get a little bigger I put it on my list your channel is hands down the best been watching you since you had your spiders and scorpion at your apartment thank you my friend great video the take downs are great
Can't wait for another rehouse frenzy video
those air takedowns are so cool
The Phormictopus going on a stroll was unexpected, you're lucky it only kicked hairs when you tried to corral it back into its enclosure. I read about a lot of defensive Phormictopus. Awesome feeding video. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
bumba cabocla look awesome, mine love to dig. I have one about the same size as yours on 4in of substrate and it dug to the bottom and made a little home quick sharp.
just woke up and grabbed my phone and go to the dark den channel because its monday vlog shoutout petko from philippines👋🏻

Killer video, sweet takedowns...
Crazy!
My husband found an old bird's nest and brought it home. I put it in a glass birdbath hanging from the eave of our porch roof and a spider turned it into it's home. Have you ever thought of using old bird's nests?
I love your spider web fly swatter, sooooo cool
I'm still mad at you
Those babies need more room to move
Greetings from South Africa😌
Linda loves it
❤️❤️ love from south africa ❤️❤️🇿🇦🇿🇦
The tarantula with blue fangs is BEAUTIFUL!
Awww when she grabbed the roach from the tweezers it reminded me of my Dorothy. She was a pink toe (rose toe?). I'd feed her crickets using chopsticks and she was always so happy to snatch one 💓
Velenis

Feeding videos are the best. And e saw quite a few rare species.
Hey Petko! Do you have any tarantulas with purple shades?? Do you have any Cyriocosmus elegans? It would be fun if you had it and showed them in a video 🙏🙏
