The reason you get such player is your bracket which boils down to your own skill.
This is so fundamental, but also so freaking important, especially for a newbie. I used to play Dota, then LOL. Neither of the games would cause me hard time on last hit creeps. And why? It's all about the setting. If I don't know the mechanism of the mouse and hotkey, I wouldn't know how to do it like a pro. Thanks to you and this video that I finally understand the move why I do so poorly but seems so easy to some other players.

I'm still gonna right-click to attack and deny, thanks. It's so fundamentally baked into my muscle memory over several years of Dota that trying to re-learn or override that would only end up compounding and multiplying my mistakes, instead of helping. Plus it just wouldn't feel right to me. There's just something innately satisfying about the clicks that no amount of gameplay improvement can replace for me. I will apply the Stop action more to reduce turning though.

And for melee vs range heroes, you should try to stay out of range and then, when creep is quarter hp, move towards it to last hit . There is not only walk animations but Walk time aswell included into CS calculating

Even though I copy your settings my hero for some wierd reason attacks when i "just" rightclick creeps. Which means i dont have 1 buttom for attack and 1 for moving. Any ideas what im doing wrong?

As a person who did use the same mouse button to move, etc.
I would focus the H button
So . get the hero lined up to attack - say you're drow -
Go into attack animation _ H - stop - She's there and ready -
but i think your method will help a ton with the quick attack and move, as I was too hesitant to enable those options with one button doing both. :)

As another note - if you take Quick Attack ticked- it reset the attack motion everytime you click, instead of doing the H and attacking, when in position.
This pressing A to attack is bad. I right click to attack, left click to attack on quick attack and right click to deny.
@@1MantisPhoenix i use quick attack and i disabled Smart attack move for denied creep and right click attack for attack creep.
How do you bind right click to force move though? I have wanted to do it since I started playing this game (I always used it in other mobas) but it doesnt work if I try to right click after selecting force move in options

how do you get your hero to auto attack animation cancel by pressing a again? (when i press a twice the first auto attack command goes through and doesnt cancel the animation compared to when you were spamming a at 2:36)

How does the smart attack work if I send illusions down a lane to push that lane?
Would they still move down the lane and attack the first target they see or move to where my cursor was when issuing the command and then attack the nearest unit to that cursor position?
The "attack nearest to cursor" option only works for targetable units within a particular radius of cursor when command was issued. This radius is visible when holding down attack key (quick attack mode) or before clicking.
If there are no units within this radius, smart attack will work in the usual 'dumb' way
I use the shift quueu here. You select illusions, press shift + right click somewhere + attack, so the illusions will move into the fog if you for example jungle and hit the first unit u see
Or use "always" on summoned units attack option

Idk, i've used to move all the time, even if i am hitting creeps when there is no enemy
In my opinion I use Force Right-click just to deny enemy creeps. it works 4 me coz I train with it!
I recommend each player to give time for your control settings and experiment what works for you

i use quick attack and i unable Smart attack move for denied creep and right click attack for attack creep.
Hey bro you forgot instinctively measuring the damage output of each hero to assess whether a certain hp bar on point will die to your hit or not. I think that's the most important thing to remember because if you like know the max HP needed for the last hit just by looking at the bar it will be more efficient to last hit then when applied with the hotkeys modifications you just thought then you wouldn't miss at all unless your enemy laner has the same concepts and had better abilities and damage output for last hitting.

I recently played DOta2 with friends at a lan and we all played it for the first time. Its funny how everyone of us did the walk / attack thing you show at 3.43.... it just seems a natural intuitiv way to do when you have no idea at all and play for the first time ;) walk up and down till creep gets low then right click on it for last hit attempt ;) propably the worst way to do it but the most natural way , too

I am using right click - stop to cs and auto force attack to deny and can have up to 60 last hit and 20 denies under 10 minutes. Should i change my technique to use "a" button instead???

I feel like since your using the stop function so much after you attack it isn’t that bad to have right click attack on. Since if you misclick like on the range creep scenario he described at the beginning you can just cancel your movement immediately with stop.

when i use range hero the hero stops moving but doesnt stop attacking in fact it attacks the nearest creep, is there any thoughts of how to fix it so it stops attacking whenever i press stop

Just use 's' for stop. The command is the following; rightclick, s, rightclick (witouth auto attack). Or just auto attack, s, last hit. With auto attack its easier getting fakes and denys
So if you don’t use right click to hit creeps, would you at least use it hit heroes? A-clicking heroes seems kinda awkward.

All BSJ-memes aside: this is really solid advice that greatly improved my last hitting and lane movement.
Sometimes it's better to move randomly around the map when last hitting cause it's good for avoiding hooks from pudge or anything like that
yeah..like...who stands still for EVERY last hit???? this is a very misleading video....
I play Lina, and if I see anyone spending this much time on a last hit, they get stunned and I slap them down to half HP. xD

Now I can look right at the creeps EKSPESHIALLY well while an SF with +40 damage denies them.
If you have smart attack on, what do you do to send illusions down lanes? Like I just a left click far into a lane, and my illus will walk down that lane and hit creeps as they go, rather than going all the way to the end of the lane, and hitting creeps near there.

Then you guys didn't understand what smart attack does. Instead of hitting the nearest creep in your vision to your hero it lets you hit the nearest creep in your vision to the location you click.
Now think about what happens if you issue an attack move across a lane and halfway through the lane your illusion finds creeps.
Big surprise! It will attack the nearest creep in his vision to the location you issued the attack command. But as it sees no creep near that location it will instead start attack the range creep (as it's behind the melee ones so nearer to the location) and afterwards the melee creeps. And after the wave your illu will continue walking to the location.
It offers what normal attack command does with benefits for laning and teamfighting.
Its ez go off and use illu heroes like pl :v but if not then use smart attack
How do you turn off right click attack???
my common problem with lasthitting is when enemy hero with base items starts with lets say 70 damage and i start with like 50, he denies and lasthit everything. he gets stronger and the damage difference is even greater, then he lasthits even more and more. or when your teammate on the lane gets all the lasthits and you end up with nothing so you go to the jungle your team mate comes with you and he lasthits even jungle creep from you.

Please help me, because i used to have smart attack with a normal push of the "a" but now it shows a giant red circle and i have to click twice and its so dumb now, it doesnt work. will rather hit the enemy creeps than deny the creep right infront of the cursor.

i just started playing again after 5 years break... i might try this. i did use this training tool recently, and i'm only able to get gold consistently.. i'd like to get to a point where i'm at consistent diamond but it might be a ways off.. maybe in a few more weeks. my highest so far is just 3000 points.
I've been playing for a year and my highest score was 2800-2900. impressive how you got 3000 so fast.
