- At our Zoom Coffee and Chat session on 1feb24, Ian McLauchlin showed this video clip. Sutton Foster stars in this song and dance routine from London’s Barbican in 2021. You may also spot Robert Lindsay.

I was, and remain, amazed at Sutton Foster in this part. She is the most spectacular dancer.
One of the greatest songs ever made and performed in dance!
Beautiful american movie 👏🏽
WOW!
Although I adore Sutton Foster, no one can hold a candle to Patti Lupone's Reno Sweeney in the late 80s revival. She was absolutely the best!
Saw them both in the role-Patti has the pipes and attitude but Sutton is the far superior dancer-apples and oranges 😚
This whole number is perfect!
Imagine doing that for eight shows a week-!
I'd like to see them dancing on a pitching rolling deck. I know we're not supposed to notice that, but once you've been haze gray and underway, you can't miss it.
As a tap dancer myself i know class when i see it. Excellent dance, outstanding vocals and hooray for the proper English style in heels, with sumptuously extended arm lines.
Love this number, Robert Linsay is an excellent foil but the rest of this production was rather spoiled by poor casting. Felicity Kendall only does hysterical. All other emotion is beyond her. And how did they cast a black actress as her daughter and another as her new beau? In a period piece it just grates.
Hey I'm not going to be able to make it today but you didn't have to go to the house and I can go to the store and get it tomorrow if you want to go to the house and I can get a new one for you and I will be ready to go to the store Robbie Hagberg
I prefer to look at SUTTON FOSTER….THEN TO LOOK AT Patti LUPONE
Huh? She has all the moves but none of the magnetism. If it weren't for the costume, you'd think she was in the chorus (and frankly, some of the chorus outshine her). I'm genuinely perplexed - one of the most sterile performances (of anything) I've ever seen. Was she better on Broadway? How is she a star?
