- Steps:
1. Use daily notes. In these daily notes, you will write everything that happens for that day. Whether you're in a meeting, in a class or taking quick notes.
2. Use Headings to help organize the daily note
3. Use Tags to help categorize these headings exclusively for searching. Generally I have a list of predefined tags but you can do what you want.
4. Links will only be for expanding upon a concept while writing a note. This concept can be generic concepts or highly personalized ones. Some example include: `time is money`, `how to fold laundry my mom's way`, `pythagorean's theorem`.
5. Just write! Write random thoughts while on walks, browsing the internet, or doing anything.

that was the tutorial I was looking for. No nonsense speech, nice
Glad you liked it 😊
Ok that’s a good use of daily notes. I think I’ll take this strategy. I was being too complex and it was not fun. It should be fun!!
Why do you mention the graph twice? Surely that is just mental gymnastics.
Obsidian should be used to get more work done, not create a beautiful graph.
This is a super helpful primer! Can you also please make a 1-min follow-up video on backlinking specifically - tips for logically making connections across notes, zettelkasten style. Also on titles for daily notes - I usually add a title after the date though.
Dude thanks for this! Really good advice for not overthinking the note taking
thank you so much , this so helpful for newbie like me
This was perfect, thank you!!🙂
Nice vid! You can bump up the mic volume a bit. Slightly hard to hear since you can't adjust volume on CZcams shorts
Thanks for the feedback!
yes!! thanks for the tips.
Just on point
Nice
What worries me about that notion, is that it encourages you to write for the sake of writing, and not necessarily to help you with things you're actally doing. If you're gonna spend more time on writing more just for the sake of writing, you're probably gonna miss the point of note taking at the first place, and not gain a lot from using this app
I find that writing things helps solidify my thoughts even if I don’t go back to the note.
@@fleetingnotes that's a good point, I can relate.
Still, you could over-take notes in a non-productive way
@@ShaharHarshuv absolutely! extreme notetaking isnt healthy
This the whole “productivity” industry’s main goal - you spend more and more time to use the app (configuring, setting, adjusting…) than to achieve your personal goals
@@chillwavemusic5024 no the main point of a lot of productivity software, much like a lot of other software is to make you dependant on it so you keep on paying. You will struggle to find non subscription based software now, especially industry standard software.
Obsidian has been a game-changer for me in the last few days. I've been able to plan, research, and brainstorm for my work projects more efficiently and creatively. I love how Obsidian lets me connect my notes and ideas in a visual way. I mainly use Obsidian for work, but I'm still figuring out how to apply it to my personal life. Maybe I need a different system or structure for that. But one thing is for sure: Obsidian has revolutionized the way I think and work.
I wonder, does this count as having a "second brain" or do I need to also use it for my personal thoughts and journaling? What do you think?
For me personally, It's a second brain as long as it offloads any work from my "first brain". Personally, I use it for work and personal as sometimes there are some useful connections between these two worlds. It seems like you're already getting a lot of value from Obsidian, so I'd say continue what you're doing! :)
How is it going so far? Still using this?
How do you add hashtags in the start of the file I tried to do this but it doesn't let me please help
is there any option if u lost your notes to get it back?
Honestly, I stopped using daily notes as they are not that useful for my needs
I want to create a constellation too
I believe you can :)
note: check mic levels

This app has no free sync option? So if device was broken or stolen all library disappeared? Or how to access your notes from work / business / another PC? Or if you in another country in trip without your laptop ?
Servers cost money to run, so they can’t just offer it for free to everyone, even cloud storage sites like Google drive or iCloud only give you a small amount of storage for free and they can afford to do that since they are big companies.
At its core obsidian vaults are just directories of markdown files, you can go into them and read them without using obsidian, you can also back up your vaults, either to cloud services or just on a usb stick or hard drive just by backing up the directory itself, but for seamless access between different devices regardless of type or OS, you will have to pay for that.
However some people have found ways to sync between some devices, like multiple PCs just using other cloud storage providers, like google drive, git, one drive, etc.
@@conorstewart2214 thank you for explanation.
Understand, that product and service cost money. It’s obvious.
Actively Looking for the versatile and one of all second brain tool (routine, productivity). And come to a conclusion - such doesn’t exist )
I have PC, iPhone and iPad. Previously used Apple Notes for short routine notation (areas). Google Docs for knowledge (resources).
Apple Nots doesn’t accessible on PC (Web pity)
Google Docs complicated to the Note taking ( especially from Phone).
Craft looks nice, but I can’t decided to trust them all my data.
Evernote is became mammoth.
Solution is not obvious

If only my eyes can see shit as small as your screen capture text
Well that doesn't seem like something that will be used by AI to learn how to perfect "understanding" humans at all....
Noooo, how would you ever get *that* idea? (*sarcasm off*)
"Write everything down for us to read." They suggest it in all these channels...
