@@LOLTutos Correct sir, I live in Darwin Australia and nearly all houses and apartments have high ceilings. Also lots of solid reinforced concrete, my apartment stays ridiculously cool given how hot it can get.
This is the very first video that I've ever watched on this channel, and still remains as one of my absolute favourite apartment designs. It's simple yet functional and comfortable. Would love to live there

@77 To be honest, the apartments displayed on this channel are filled with series of compromises, which is totally fine. Some smaller, some bigger, but it also comes down to the people living in the apartments and their preferences. Smart solutions may not always be 100% 'ergonomic' so to speak, but this apartment is pretty close to perfect in my eyes.
So personally I wouldn't mind having a 5 to 10 second break to let someone out from the bed area if I was living here and making a breakfast.

I would wash my bed three times a year if I had that bed. Looks like a pain in the ass to make with the three walls surrounding it and no walking space around it (I say this from experience).

@@Grindisc Literally one foot of walking space surrounding the bed. One foot. That is not much. Have you ever tried making a bed surrounded by 3 walls before? Also, I have zero complaints about the size of the rest of the apartment. It's not like I'm criticizing each and every room for not being big enough. Personally, I don't need that much space, but I know what my needs and wants are.

Compared to all the videos about tiny apartments I've seen, this one is my absolute favorite. Especially the sliding door idea, although I can totally see myself getting annoyed by it after 3 months 😂😂
A curtain, that can be easily pull out and in more than one way, could be, maybe, more practical for some.

Apart from the kitchen and bathroom it seams quite cheap if it was a college dorm they may do this design but without all the fancy bathroom furniture shower, sink etc

Shelf by the bed should be bigger, but I'm starting to like the closet in the bathroom, although that closet also needed to be a little bigger. It makes sense cuz you need space to change but not to sleep.
On that topic, the bed would be better raised with storage beneath, but this is better for sex. This way you can hang the sling over the bed.

@@davidf2244 I am not a fan of bathroom closet, just because of moisture. I would maybe make it full slide out closet accessible from both sides (slide perpendicular to the wood screen)
Its starting to get there.
But there is a few flaws:
1. There isn't enough storage for clothes.
Its possible you need to add another cabinet under the bed and elevate it so its a 2 step stairway instead of 1, just to get more storage.
2. Entryway has no separation.
3. All areas share the same moisture and temperature levels
No.1 on my list, that's for sure. I just love how the bathroom is tucked away yet it doesn't look cramped.
The way in this project to redesign, internally, an already built house, and transform it into something completely new, seems very interesting to me. Also the way in which the architects separate the private areas (room and bathroom) with the social ones. (Living room, dining room, kitchen) through a mobile structure. Where the space can be adapted visually and spatially according to the user's need. In addition, the functionality of each area and the maximization of spaces is completely incredible. An ideal home for university students or people who live alone.
The large windows are definitely a crucial element in making the space feel larger and more open. Even with all the ways they made it feel open, etc. having windows that go the entire length of the apartment is what prevents it from feeling cramped.

Now if that window is facing a really close building or an alley, not a park or trees or cannot get enough sun light, it wouldnt work as good

Great use of space. Imagine five of these stacked together as an apt building with a lift on one side, a staircase on the other and balcony terraces on the staircase. It could be the next alternative to small houses.
The idea of living in such a small, maintainable, minimal space is really appealing to me. I like the idea of home being simple, so after the chaos of outside, you can return to something visually and physically comfortable.

yeah it's totally fine to live in such a small place if you don't have any kids or so many family members & friends visiting you every other day.
I live in a 24sqm apartment and I love my tiny home. Now, of course I won't live here forever but for the time being this works for me well. You can fit surprisingly a lot of things in it without feeling too stuffed. I for example have a bathtub, a piano and a convertible sofa for guests. The space is enough for one to live in it. It feels cozy and I feel like it shows my personality to guests.

You can't get to the kitchen if you want a glass of water during the night and if after the glass of water you need the bathroom you have to slide that door again. A sort of collapsable thing would be better

I believe that a lighter weight woven bamboo/reed accordian panel or even attractive somewhat translucent fabric curtain on rings/pole might be a better choice for that reason.

It's not really much colors involved it's mostly white if we don't include the bathroom I think. But yeah I guess white color kind of makes the space look bigger . I absolutely loved this even tho I'd like to see some curtains there and maybe a TV cause I didn't see one !

The integration of spaces, storage, appliances is truly beautful. Having places where belongings can be stored (hidden away) creates a sense of calm and helps one's mood. A typical housing unit in the U.S. has so many mis-matched pieces of free-standing furniture, creating visual clutter and inefficient use of spaces.
This was very soothing and satisfying to watch!

It’s so satisfied to watch it, organized, clean, neat and artistic.
I think it is a very comfortable space to live, especially when you like to be alone. The lighting is a fundamental part of the apartment that makes it have a more spacious appearance with a milimalist aspect. I also loved the sliding door that separates the living room from the bedroom, I know that it is rare to see that type of design but it was very well done because it highlights the apartment. If I had to choose a place to live I would definitely choose a place like that.

Yeah, in Sweden a lot of the student apartments are about 12 square meters, not including the bathroom (about 4 square meters) but including the kitchen area.

It actually looks really nice, especially because only the living room and bedroom seem smaller than usual. The kitchen, bathroom, and even dining room/space look all spacious for such a small space.

In Asian cities, that is also very spacious. I am in Manila now. I live in a condominium, amd this is exactly the square meter of my home
@Alex er we are talking about apartnents in 40 to 60 floor condominium. So if this room is 4 to 5 times smaller than in europe, then does it mean an average floor area in european condo is nearly half or a quarter of the whole floor of a building

I must have watched this episode a hundred times, and every time I view it I love it even more. The design and the finishes are perfect. Brad Swartz is the most amazing architect. To be able to turn the before into the after, is a masterpiece. 🥰🥰🥰

The design and the result are quite impressive, but let's cut the crap: If you have enough money for these kinds of modifications, you're not living in such a small apartment.
Or in reverse: If you're renting such a tiny apartment, you could never afford these modifications.
Some people just don't want a lot of space.
But it's good to know the design ideas in case you want to incorporate it into your own home to make everything more practical (or if you are designing an apartment for people)

I doubt it was super expensive. Drywall is rather cheap and so is basic concrete tile. I feel the most expensive part would've been the hardwood flooring/slider and the large mirrors and glass panes.
@Tara Lang that is unless you designed it and built it yourself. Small drawer dishwashers aren't super expensive and are usually common dimensions. But I defidently can see how it'd be expensive if you contracted the work out to someone else.

@@RandomVideos-ef6vz the culture between western and middle east towards women is very different, maybe in your country, women's life should be in the kitchen and nursering their babies but here, women are seen as equal as their counterparts, I don't blame you for saying that, you were raised thinking that women are basically a housemaid, but just know that what you said can make other people feel offended, so yeah.. definitely shouldn't say that in public/internet (especially in a western website)

Elu the landlords don’t always make as large f a profit at you think. In nyc taxes are high and many owners are making money but only enough that when the building needs repairs/work they have $ avail to do the work

This is very well done and perfect for minimalism. For people like me who choose simple lifestyle, and own as little possessions as possible, this is a dream home. I love the big windows that allow for sunlight to pour in or watching the rain pouring outside. I would decorate it with plants and a single comfortable recliner chair. I would add Phillips hue and a central music player like Homepod.
That change in the layout of the apartment was great.
Honestly if my first apartment was set up like this, I would NEVER move 😭! This type of set essentially forces you to be minimalistic and I love that aspect about it. In the future, I hope to be come more minimal

As a student who lived 4 years in dormitories in Turkey, Germany and Poland; i would say the same thing. Everybody can’t afford 2+1 apartments and it is not necessary anyway if you want to live alone. I prefer one single room instead of living with 4 people in a big house and fighting about cleaning every day.
