  • Match and riot highlights. Celtic score a late winner, hoards of unwashed from both sides invade the pitch, leading to pitched battels between both sets of fans with the police struggling to cope ... the outcome ... an alcohol ban from matches in Scotland.

One set of fans invaded the pitch to celebrate the win (as was common in those days) and the other set invaded the pitch to attack them. It's not hard to see where the blame lay. But of course the Scottish media and football authorities blamed what they called "old firm fans". I've been following Scottish football for 60+ years and I've yet to meet an old firm fan.

George McCluskey was also underrated but that was what professionalism in Scottish football was like then, McGarvey, McGrain and McCluskey would be millionaires now as would be the two late greats Burns and Cooper. Nutters running onto the park, grown men from my town fighting each other. Then back to Glasgow Central avoiding the extreme violence, dodging bottles and fists, knives and boots. Note the anti Celtic propaganda at 6:36 onwards from ITV / STV , where the camera is on loads of Celtic fans jumping up and down in party mode and joy at their team winning, while the biased commentator says ''look at these angry scenes on the terraces''
Wow, was it really hard for him to report what the cameras were actually showing. ''That Celtic fans were rightly celebrating with happiness and joy their team winning and that Rangers fans then rioted onto th pitch with rage, anger and jealousy as they were clearly bad losers , and hence the Rangers fans started the riot by attacking Celtic fans, to which Celtic fans responded back by trying to chase the Rangers fans back to their end. This almost makes a good case for having any Old Firm cup final be at Ibrox or Parkhead, randomly drawn. Here the supporters are at equal strength and there is going to be a legitimate fight between two equal forces - at one of the clubs' stadia there would be an advantage and fights like this would be avoided.

Not dead mucker but as a Tim going through the motions watching utter fucking dross at the piggery your stadiums that empty they have to close the rear section. If you can't admit your teams pish and going backward instead of commenting on us you would come to the conclusion your mob Needs Rangers liewell admitted us being out the top division would not affect cellic then proceeds to give 30 million reasons why cellic need Rangers.I have never heard any talk from Rangers saying we miss cellic.Look at the evidence when cellic played barca you nearly got a draw in the nou camp then got a win at the piggery cellic created a new champions league stat record for the least amount of possession in a CL game over 2 games 30% but at the end of the day results matter. The next season barca took 6 of cellic and done them at the piggery signs of going backward starting to show cellic could not win a treble even though Rangers are fucking useless I can admit it you can't admit it that your teams shite. Now this seasons CL qualifiers hammered by legia warsaw 6-1 you get a second bite at it and cannot beat maribor in your 2 Europa league games cellic have been played of the park.Worry about your own mob mate because if you look at the league table where are cellic no where near the top and its on merit lol.We can only come through the divisions and were on schedule you will say hearts will win the first division that's fair enough cos I have a feeling were gonna be playing cellic in the play off for a place in the lol top league.Get your facts right the highest court in Scotland and Lord nimmo Smith said the name RANGERS is the same name used by the founders and is the same team club and stadium and the same colours with the 5 stars above the same crest. So if were dead why are we trying to remove these pricks holding our club to ransom to replace them with True blue Rangers men.Make your fucking mind up were Zombies(undead)or were dead or because the law is on our side regarding monies owed remember the big tax case we won HMRS appealed and lost again. So IMO get over it Rangers then Rangers now and Rangers forever.Watp

I support Celtic more than Rangers, I´ve lived in Dublin for one year. However, I do not support Celtic for political reasons. I think that mix politic and football is absolutely ridiculous.
    Regards from Spain.
one more thing Celtic`s kit is like Betis in Spain but Betis shirt is down striped

Much as I can be biased towards Celtic, you know if there was no Old Firm, think of the talent that would increase the weight of Hearts, Hibs, Dundee Utd, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Livingston, St Mirren, Dunfermline, Inverness. It would be more democratic. It's been laughable for 20 years now.

Ah yes, when the rangers fans celebrated their first significant trophy/title by urinating and vomiting on all the statues in George square, fighting pitched battles with one another, throwing bottles and missiles at the police and generally creating mayhem in the centre of Glasgow in the middle of a pandemic.
Reminded me of their fans appearance on special edition of crime watch which was completely dedicated to the Manchester riots after ‘Rangers’ had lost to зенит санкт-петербург.
