    @rhykko77 I totally agree mate. Frudua's method is helpful to some people who are not very introduced in the matter, but I can find some problems like the one you mentioned.

    Thank you for your fantastic instructional series. Do you have any tip/trick for cheap tools to cut those nut slots? Nut files are just too expensive for occasional users like myself. Will welding tip cleaners, razor saws and sandpapers get the job done? Thanks again!

    Hey man. These videos are amazing! I am curious to know what you think of the LSR ball bearing nuts?

  • @ncorrieri
    @ncorrieri Před 12 lety

    Yes makes sense, pinching occurs in the wedged shape

  • @FruduaTv
    @FruduaTv  Před 13 lety

    @rhykko77 not sure what you mean. anyway most of the times nobody bends that much to bring it out of tune.

  • @FelipeMesquita

    One question: Making the nut slot flat wouldn't anticipate the erosion by the string friction, making it lower than it should be?
    Great videos btw, very clarifying!

    Hello Frudua, the cut you said in the 3:43 its only for the 6th string? the wound ones ? or all the strings? please help.

  • @FruduaTv

    @FruduaTv The wound strings are the bass ones right?

  • @iosebaart
    @iosebaart Před 13 lety

    in the slots of the nut for the strings, why dont you do a V shaped slots? in that case youll only have 2 friction points instead of 3

    • @phunjack
      @phunjack Před 5 lety +1

      Very easy: It will cause a clamp action preventing the string from slipping. The string should slide on the bottom of the nut and the sides just guide the string. Between the sides you need just enought clearance not to clamb the string.

    What kind of material is the nut usually made out of?

    • @NickyGoodWolf
      @NickyGoodWolf Před 8 lety +1

      Everything! :P On cheaper instruments, it's usually plastic. On more expensive ones, it may be bone - though they are made out of everything from metal, to wood, to bone, and even horn.

    Non need to measure it. You can do it by eye or your guitar doctor will know.

    I have one disagreement with your trem set up technique......you show that after doing a solo, to push down on the bar, to bring it back in tune.....who wants to play a solo with an out of tune guitar ? evem if depressing the arm puts it back in tune after you solo.

    So just a little English lesson - pronunciations.
    Height - hite
    Staggered - stagger'd
    Gauge - gage
    I hope that helps as much as you are helping everyone which is considerable.
    Thank you!
